Quick update from poland
1) caught a bus to the mountains. The bus was chocker but fortunately OH noticed a half empty one behind before we battled our way on :j
2) we walked 9km up the hill  but views stunning. Then had lunch at the hotel by the lake
3) we walked round the lake then back down 9km to the bus and the sun shone the whole way :T
4) manic journey back as zakopane roads closed for tour de poland, so we took a very convoluted route back :rotfl:
5) had chinese. Not sure if you've ever tried ordering chinese in poland. They do not use chinese names, just polish descriptions. I had chicken with bamboo served with boiled rice and coleslaw (if it doesnt come with sauerkraut it's coleslaw)
And we even saw some of the tour de pologne :T i am now very tired and since it's an hour on here i'm off to bed. Tomorrow we get up very early. Night all xxxMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

HappyBirthday to birthday peeps and (((((((((HUGS))))))))) to ill people.
Wish I'd seen that dog and cat rodeo.0 -
Belated Happy Birthday IWAB, hope your gathering went off as planned. Good for you having it at home, it's just as much fun, if not more so, than paying a small fortune in a restaurant. And much more relaxed
TILAMS just you take it easy, no more blues'n'twos please. Pleased for you both that you're back home with the lovely Ms Sonny
Oh yes, the rodeo - the cat jumped onto the dog's back and it was difficult to tell them apart as they're both white and very furry. Poor dog ran round the kitchen table twice bucking and trying to throw her off, on the second circuit she saw the open door, jumped off and flew up the stairs, not to be seen again for hours. Meanwhile the dog kept running until he realised she wasn't there anymore (poor boy, he is a bit thick
) and flew into the garden
. It's at moments like those you so wish you had a camera sewn to your hand!
1. Got a call this morning from someone apologising for waking me at 2am, having dialled a wrong number. That's a first! Tis a worry when the phone rings in the night but all's well
2. Got a bit of a ci but still almost completed the circuit at the gym. Will see the gp on Monday if it's not cleared up by then. Good old nhs again
3. Took Bert back to DD and picked up Toppy Dog, lovely to have my lad back home
4. Determined to have my take away, I visited all three in the village but they were all closed at lunchtime. Came home and had the curry from the freezer, which saved me a lot of pennies.
5. Watching back to back programmes all afternoon, actors/singers etc showing their favourite things about Britain. Makes a nice change to see some people appreciating it instead of knocking it.0 -
Saturday's super pleasures
1. DD and I went to see a play and had a gorgeous time
2. We bought ourselves cheapy rucksacks in MrT's afterwards, when we went in to get water bottles.....hmm.....oh well, I know I'm skint but they will be useful when we go away, or she needs to take nearly everything bar the kitchen sink to her summer clubs...
3. Managed to get hopefully good, long-lasting water bottles for the clubs/our day trips.
4. Went to the library and got a couple of books and DD joined the summer reading challenge.
5. Most of my N*xt order arrived and all bar one item will be going back! I ordered a very expensive rucksack which I no longer need and other bits that either don't fit or I don't like.
6. Lovely home delivery lady trudged through the jungle that is our back garden to leave the parcels in the greenhouse.
7. Made yummy curry for dinner, and deliberately put potatoes in it so that I could tell DD it was like Bombay potatoes but with added carrots and quorn fillets, as she doesn't like 'spicy food' but loves Bpots. She loved it and we have enough left for one more meal with a bit of padding out with extra veg and stuff.
8. Realised that the freezer is slowly filling up with leftovers that will make a dinner
9. Registered on government teacher training site to get more information, if I do lose my job later in the year, it may be time to get off my backside and try to get on a course, as I've been talking about doing it for years! Just the finances/my fear of failure to work out....*sigh*
10. Managed to shift the pile of books that was in the kitchen into our respective bedrooms. The kitchen floor is more safe place now!
11. When it rained heavily in town and we didn't have coats or umbrellas with us, we sat on a bench and read our library books
12. Bumped into some friends whilst out and about0 -
Morning! Some pleasures:
1. Spent a lot of yesterday cleaning and decluttering. I got rid of quite a few things from the kitchen - it was therapeutic.
2. Tackled a couple of problem areas of the carpet with some foam spray and they've come up really good.
3. Easy tea.
4. There was a break in the rain and we had a lovely walk.
5. The lotto rolled over so there's hope another day.
More cleaning shall resume. Have a good day all!

Morning all, Sunday service again. See the hot water tap has broken, I will have to do that later on.
For today.
Woke up with the blooooooooooooody cat chelping for his food. I thinks we were late and talk about gob. Still two forked and now on window sill.
Great to be with ms sonny again. She is so good. We had bins on toast again.
Found out that we has lost another minister from our group. That is two in three and a bit years. Must frighten these youngsters off at ours. Holy smoke!!
Watched speedway last nite snogged up next to Ms Sonny. She can handle her bear hugger.
Rite, good vibes from Jenny and should kick off nows.
Have a good day all, and good nite to those on the underside.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

Thank you dundee doll, skint yet again, CCP, sparrer & old tractor for the birthday wishes!
Kitchenbunny - You have just reminded me I need to get our carpet cleaner back from the in laws as our living room carpet is filthy!
Sparrer - I fear that you are not mse enough - had you filmed the cat and dog rodeo Im sure you would have earned an instant £250 on you've been framed!
My 5 from yesterday -
1. A lovely lie in & got woken up by my 2.5 year old singing 'happy birthday to mummy'.
2. A wander round town (in the rain!), found 55p in the car park ticket machine so two hours parking cost me 55p instead of £1.30.
3. Lovely gifts & cards received - I am very lucky. I cannot wait to cook some recipes from my new cook book, fill in my new organised mum diary and eat those divine Lindt chocolates. I felt very very spoilt which I am sure was somewhat enhanced by the recent no spending challenge!
4. Lovely pizza & pasta for tea, felt very cheaty as I bought the pizzas and pasta sauces. Despite an overspend of £7 from the original budget of £20, I have enough leftovers for at least 8 evening meals for us (no exaggeration!), plus half a cheesecake, an unopened tub of ice cream and two bottles of squash!.
5. Feeling very happy to be 26, think it is going to be a good year!
Stacey x2024 - happy, healthy, quality over quantity, buy nothing new (and 2nd hand only if NEEDED), mindful spending, nurturing myself and family, living for now.
Mortgage @ 31/12/23 £248k - too high, interest rate gone up - want this down asap!
Debt @ 31/12/23 £16k - no interest - will clear over 5 years hopefully.
Emergency savings £4k - been ransacked over last year - needs attention :-(0 -

6 for yesterday
1.Received a panicky call from DM at 8am asking if we could take her and the dog to vet as she had a fall down the stairs and hurt her leg (dog not Mum). Went in case "decisions" needed to be made iyswim ? Had to "sit" on dogs head so she wouldn't bite vet , boy she wanted to eat him (cor - so did I !)! All ok - just damaged tendon.
2.Went into town and lovely assistant in B*ots told me that I was eligible for 350 points , which means I have about £20 towards Xmas in points
3. Got some new moisturisers to try which were 1/2 price .
4. Took OH to a noodle bar for lunch on impulse.Fresh ingredients and lovely clean kitchen - where they cooked the food in front of you type of place, reasonable too !
5. Banked some change and moved some cash into savings account:D
6. Got one of those Brevi* bras in Bo*ts . Really comfy but should have got a small one (30-34) instead of the medium oneBut I have a broad "rowers" back , so can't win really!

Have a good evening all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Hi, Everyone,
hope you're all enjoying a nice relaxing weekend.
I still can't manage 5 a day (and I'm not talking about fruit & veges), but I'll know I've "arrived" when I achieve that. In the meantime....some for the last few days are -
