Hi everyone - glad we've all got so much to feel grateful for. Here's mine

    1. Sun is shining (really!)
    2. Took DS 'sticking' in the woods, had a lovely chat and collected a couple of weeks worth of free kindling.
    3. Thai red curry made with yesterday's left overs simmering away ready for a nice relaxed family dinner.
    4. Got a house viewing this weekend having almost given up hope of anyone ever coming to look around.
    5. DD has just brought me a cup of coffee

    Have a lovely evening

    PP xx

    Good evening all !

Frith - blimey- you guys are having a roller coaster of a ride :(

Sparrer - Red Hat Club sounds fab. Ladies behaving badly :) I remember the bit in the poem about an umbrella or walking stick running across iron railings to make a noise , and the purple gotta love the purple. Shame I have to wait another 7 years x

    5 for today

    1. Sitting in the OGV in the car park at work at 7.30am , smiling as the rain absolutely tipped it down . Wow that was real weather .

    2. Hideous meeting was not so bad.. but the following meeting was not so good :( Only positive is that it made my day feel shorter as time flew by.
    3. Someone I know who has made themselves intentionally homeless did not get offered housing as they are ineligible . The person had wrongly assumed that the council would take responsibility for his idiotic behaviour and "give" him a free house:mad:. I used to work in Housing and Mental Health and I am so glad that his web of lies were unpicked. There are many poeple who have a genuine housing need. He needs a swift kick up the Harris.

4.Looking forward to my bed tonight as my body is cream crackered .

5 . OH went to Mr. A looking for one of those Genie type bras that look like crop tops ,as I had been dropping huge hints ... he didn't really get what I meant and said he asked an assistant and nearly got me a beige coloured effort that did not come in a box.Yuk! he knows I will only wear black or white . "Get it yourself chicken" says the voice in my head .Gotta love him for trying though :)

have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    1. Low spend day, needed carrots and 'bargains'

    2. Even lower spend as it turned out MrT's had overcharged me for a special offer, so I ended up getting over £2 back :)

    3. Spent my LVs as well to make it a teensy tiny spend, phew!

    4. Feel like some medicine I've been rubbish at taking recently is now starting to work properly again, now that I've been taking it correctly for a week! PHEW

    5. DD's teacher came over to tell me how brilliantly she is doing at maths recently :)

    6. She's off at a disco and I'm chilling out for an hour - bliss!

    7. After my usual middle of the night not sleeping, I went back to bed and OH cuddled up to me, nice of him to share his warmth :)

    8. Got my first ever N&xt VIP slot and have just bought a few of the things I wanted, was amazed at how many of the items I was after had sold out already!

    9. Nice chat to parentkins on the phone, they were very pleased with DD's schoolwork too :)

    10. Was lent an umbrella by lovely security guard when I went out for lunch, it was tipping it down!

    11. Have taken out some fabulous books from the library and am already half way through one :)

Another one, thanks Frith for reminding me about the magical word.......soup......

    12. Made scrumy beany veggie soup and even more deelish banoffee pie for dinner (I was supposed to make pie to take out last night but felt too ill to go so as the cream would go off and the biscuit base was already made, it just HAD to be done :)

    Pleasures for today (Weds)

    1) Waking up with OH.

    2) Getting up and staying up at that ungodly hour!

    3) Bigger son had his induction day at high school and loved it! He is really looking forward to going now.

    4) Kittens. :-)

    5) Emails from OH throughout the day.

    6) Tasty tea. Just pasta with tomato and tuna but pretty good. Followed by strawberries and cream for the boys (with a few raspberries from our canes in the garden thrown in) and some of yesterday's summer pudding for me.

    7) No OH this evening so will enjoy watching DIY SOS then having an early night to watch Holby City and listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue on iplayer!

    8) Oh yes, and pinned the window company down to a date and time. Next Tuesday...

    9) Wanted to use up lots of sweet potatoes I got for 75p at the market on Saturday so put them with some carrots, lentils, onions and stock and have made an enormous stock pot full of soup. Some for bigger son's school lunch tomorrow, some for me, some for OH's lunch at work on Friday and 3-4 portions for the freezer. :-)

    Evening all.

I'm pleased to say yesterday's low mood seems to have gone, but has been replaced by serious sleepiness - I don't think there's been a single minute today when I couldn't have closed my eyes and dozed off. :( I'm going to have to get my lightbox out again, I think, despite it being officially for winter use only.

    1) worked at home this morning. m1 wanted to go out. it's cold i sed. try me he sed. so i let him out and shut the door (as it is blinking cold). i wanna come in he sed so i let him in and shut the door. i wanna go out he sed. it's still cold i sed. it might not be he sed, it might have warmed up. so i let him out. let me in he sed it's cold. so i let him in. let me out he sed. it's cold i sed. third time lucky? he sed. so i moved to the sitting room (had been working on kitchen table next to back door). so he started singing!!! but it made me laugh eventually. then he went to sleep :D

Oh, I know that game, as I suspect every cat owner does. Mine's favourite variation is to stick his head outside for a free, no obligation sample of the weather, and then to try again 30 seconds later, then 30 seconds after that - just in case there's been a change. smiley-rolleyes010.gif

    1) Took my colleagues a bar of Swiss chocolate to share - it was a present from a friend who had forgotten that I don't like chocolate, but I knew some people who would enjoy it...

    2) Walking up to town in the sunshine with a colleague during our lunch break. :) Sadly the walk back was less pleasant - the heavens opened and we both looked like drowned rats by the time we got back. My colleague was so wet she had to phone her DH - who luckily was working from home today - and ask him to bring her a complete change of clothes.

    3) Watching the rain once we were both safely back inside. I find very heavy rain quite hypnotic, and this was really heavy - a month's rain in 3 hours according to the local radio station.

    4) Bought myself some tabbouleh for lunch, which reminded me that I really like the stuff, and that I have a pack of bulgar wheat in the cupboard somewhere to use in making my own.

    5) I'm off out reference writing tonight (if I can stay awake long enough :o), and my friend has suggested that we do it over dinner, which he will pay for. :A

Hugs to Frith, mhags, and anyone else in need.
Back after a very long break!

    my 5
    1. a friend came for a chat and gave me a lift later to where I was going to walk to
2.DH's car has finally totally conked out. So he is now taking mine to get to work. At least we will be saving the road tax and the insurance having 1 car now instead of 2. Also diesel as I cant just nip here and there. So i've put it as a pleasure not a disaster as ill have a bit more to save and some to spend.
    3. lovely smoked trout
and some salad for dinner with the first of the carrots.
    4. got a decent amount of white currants off the currant bush
    5. horses all groomed and in ----too much grass! ---I am grateful for the stables.

....just sneaking back in to add another non food pleasure :D

    6. Shortly after posting earlier the black sky cleared, and the sun came out. I decided to go for a walk and went along the sea shore. The sky was clear blue and the sea was such a brilliant blue it could have been the Med (or is that just wishful thinking ;) ). You wouldnt believe it was the same day considering the rain and stormy weather earlier

Have a good evening all x

Evening :) Thought I'd add some "pleasures" for today:

    1. Had a lovely surprise from my Mum & Sister when I went to see them this afternoon. Spent a good couple of hours chatting, and it was wonderful.
    2. A quiet night, as my phone is unable to connect to the network...
    3. Tea was lovely - pasta bake (my favourite)
    4. The sky. It's making everything a bit yellow at the moment, and the clouds are tinged with pink. It's very colourful out there.
    5. Sudoku. Thank goodness for them!

Well, spent again this morning but it was on a lot of cleaning stuff so am alright with that. Have been feeling the urge for a good spring clean so will tackle that this weekend if I get the chance. It'll be good to get things all shiny. I've now got a couple of back issues of take a break to do the competitions in. Really hope I can win something!

Have a good evening, everyone. (((hugs))) to Frith & get well soon Mhagster.

    K xx
