5 for today!
1) Waking up with OH. :-)
2) Bigger son to school happily.
3) Kittens. :-)
4) Smaller son and I fitted new windscreen wipers to the car ready for its MOT.
5) Wrote to say I will not be having that CAF coordinator again. :-D
6) Popped to mum and dad's for a cup of tea.
7) Made a summer pudding.
8) House reasonably tidy.
9) My new windows are ready and will be fitted early next week! Hoorah! I've put up with these leaky, draughty, soft wood rotten framed windows for 13 years! I can only afford the 2 downstairs front but hopefully the other downstairs in a few months and the 3 upstairs next year (its only a 2 up 2 down cottage so only 7 windows altogether!)
10) OH coming over after work. :-)0 -
Evening all.
I woke up this morning feeling really sad for some unknown reason, and have never quite managed to shake the mood off.I'll find some pleasures, though:
1) I've been thinking for some time of replacing my old CRT TV as it takes up a ridiculous amount of room, and I found someone on our work e-noticeboard today selling a second-hand flat screen with a built-in DVD player for £70 - and he'll deliver it. :T (It should be here any minute, actually...)
2) My DM asked me to try and find some Stardrops for her as they're so strongly recommended on the OS board, and I managed to track some down today.
3) Chatting to a colleague about my bad foot as she suffers from serious recurrent infections herself, and she recommended some stuff that's available over the counter which has helped her and which could help me avoid surgery. :j if it works!
4) I won't have time for dinner tonight so I'm just going to have some toasted HM granary bread with butter.
5) Pub quiz tonight. I'm not sure I really feel like going, but I promised I would and it might help shake off my bad mood.
Frith -:mad::mad: is all I can say. Disgraceful behaviour (them, not you, obviously!).
Have a decent evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all.
I didn't have a particularly good day at work today. I decided to wear my new summer skirt - I was determined it would get at least one outing this year- and found that it's exactly the right length to get tangled in the wheels of my office chair - I kept standing up and then stumbling as I'd inadvertently pinned myself to the floor.
At least I gave my colleagues a few laughs, I suppose. :rotfl:
CCP at least it didnt get stuck in the wheels and fall down
mhagster ((hugs)) make sure you take time to relax and recover as you have been through such a lot recentlyKitchenbunny wrote: »6. A cup of tea - is it possible to get through the day without one?
KB - cant beat a nice cuppa tea
For today
1. Slept better until alarm went off at 7am
2. Cakes at work. Managed to resist double choc muffins and had a weight/w carrot cake instead
3. Phone call from dad, he has masses of veg from his allotment for me
4. Another day at work over, another day nearer my summer break :j
5. DS has a girl friend over (not gf) and they are cooking tea. Not sure if this will be a pleasure, will confirm once I've tasted the results... and it depends on how much mess they leave in the kitchen0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Hee hee - is he amenable to taming? I can be temperamental in confinement too! :rotfl:I can be temperamental, confinement or not!
VJsmum -No - he's completely feral , even after 12 years :rotfl:He has a school report that states "G . is easily distracted even when left in a room by himself " this still amuses me no end. The word Chantecleur I thought was a kind of french c o c k e r e l (take that swear police) but the Wiki one is more quirky:)
Frith ((hugs)) take the complaint to the max . Your ex is still manipulating people I seeI am truly sorry x

The thought occurred to me every time it happened, believe me, which is why I'm never wearing that skirt to work again!Back after a very long break!0 -
Big hugs CCP, hope by the time you go to bed you feel full of the joys of spring again x
1. Worked at home.....good as DD was feeling sick and looking a bit languid so I could let her relax and I could try and cope with my newly-discovered hayfever, grrr
2. Nice chat with mummykins
3. DD has done great work with her homework, hopefully it'll be enough to earn her a merit, as she needs one more for the next certificate, fingers crossed! We had good fun working it out.
4. OH is here, being a bit monosyllabic but ho hum.......and he treated us to a chippy dinner (we're ok but do need a night out on our own soon!)
5. My lovely neighbour has come over this evening to let me know that he's going to attack my front garden again with his posh lawnmower, and has told me he has an elecric lawnmower he's going to give me, as he knows I can't really afford to pay for a gardener. What a lovely man, I've told him once the house is a bit tidier I'll invite him and his wife over for afternoon tea to say thank you0 -

LOL My OH's school reports have gone down in the annals of history
Sport - "shows some interest when the ball comes in his direction"
General house report "P would be more use around the house if he were less preoccupied with his latest obsession" - :rotfl:nothing changes
Geography "P does not like to aquaint himself with facts"The thought occurred to me every time it happened, believe me, which is why I'm never wearing that skirt to work again!
Sorry you are feeling low - just think about THAT skirt on THAT bike and you will either beor :rotfl:Good luck with the pub quiz - they are one thing I am quite good at, being a mine of useless information
So for today
1. Sorted out some business this morning. Fingers crossed it works out. It is something that needs putting in place in case OH gets made redundant in the autumn, which is a possibility and not the end of the world. But this will make it less the end of the world.
2. Work was ok. A colleague brought in cakes - she had posted on FB on Sunday that she was bored, so I suggested she make cakes to bring in - and she did
3. Forgot my sandwich - so treated myself to jacket spud and tuna from the cafe
4. Nice chilli for tea - DS has decided he likes chilli now :T
5. I am going to Korea in the autumn to do some teaching - and they are going to pay for me to go Business class :T
RIght, I have to buy DD some birthday presents for next week. Prom tomorrow.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
thanks for the giggles. You're all mad in the nicest possible way
OK I feel challenged by the bad language checker now. Still can't see what's wrong with m o g 1 (now called m1) so will see what happens with mog2 and cockerel won't even go near arsenal or s!!!!horpe though :rotfl:
1) worked at home this morning. m1 wanted to go out. it's cold i sed. try me he sed. so i let him out and shut the door (as it is blinking cold). i wanna come in he sed so i let him in and shut the door. i wanna go out he sed. it's still cold i sed. it might not be he sed, it might have warmed up. so i let him out. let me in he sed it's cold. so i let him in. let me out he sed. it's cold i sed. third time lucky? he sed. so i moved to the sitting room (had been working on kitchen table next to back door). so he started singing!!! but it made me laugh eventually. then he went to sleep
2) piano tuner came and tuned the piano. it had gone sharp with the damp weather, and now sounds beautiful again, specially when DD1 plays it :j
3) come 5:30 decided to finally allow myself to put the heating on. then wrapped my cold body round the radiator. Bliss though not mse
4) listened to Beatles while making supper for me and DD1. left over beef stew from yesterday with some spices added
5) finding my old poems. i used to write very silly poems at another job then again when i was waiting for my viva (and won a few comps with those). A colleague had mentioned how much she liked one I'd sent her hence the hunt. Thinking of going back to some writing :j found a naughty one i wrote a christmas  made me smile but i didn't send her that one.
Have a good evening everyone. I'm listening to the cricket but really need to go sort the laundry :A. OH is back tomorrow and i kinda think it would be good if I managed to have the house tidy. Hmmm tidy is not my natural state :rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

now that's just daft. everyone who knows my cats knows mog2 is far naughtier than poor m1. mog2 is a bit of a bully and tried to muscle in on m1's food even though she has her own. so for the naughty word checker it should get mog2 rather than m o g 1 :rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
