been awol for a day or so because I desperately need to catch up on housework (and paperwork) and I'm basically the worst procrastinator. However DS is coming to visit so if I don't start now it'll still be waiting when he's gone again!
Hugs to all who need one
1. not had to water this week so far
2. 2 nsd's
3. eating from stores and have had some very tasty meals. I love my food so I'll never be one who says it's boring cooking for one
4. Postie brought me yet more moisturisers, I'm try to work my way through a drawerful of them!
5. Have received an invitation to join the local Red Hats group, unfortunately I'm not able to go to the meetings for the next two weeks but will be meeting them for coffee in a fortnight. Not sure about it til I get there but the web site looks fun

Exciting news from last night!
Readers may recall smaller son not being allowed in school until 1pm today (after Ofsted have left). I might possibly have stated that on the parent opinion form you have to fill in for Ofsted.
Imagine my surprise last night while waiting for OH, sons playing nicely upstairs, me on the sofa with the kittens - when the phone rang. And it was the Ofsted inspector!!!!! He wanted to check what I had said on my questionairre and asked me what I thought of SEN provision at school. :-/
I still feel a bit stunned. He was probably on the phone for 20 minutes. I tried to be fair (and to keep calm!) but did say smaller son has been treated very shoddily and there is a huge difference between how the children on the gifted and talented scheme are treated (which includes bigger son) and those on the SEN register.
Had to play the piano for ages afterwards to calm down!
Anyway, up early this morning as bigger son is spending his first day at high school. Really excited for him. Got smaller son's reintegration meeting at school at 1pm then he's spending 2 hours in school. (!) As he has been with me 24 hours a day for a week, and not under the happiest circumstances, going to try and think of something pleasant to do for those 2 hours.
And I don't care if he does play up at school - I'm not collecting him early!0 -
Morning all
was up at 6.50am but didn't want to shock you so left the news til now. I wouldn't have been but the phone line was busy all night so I gave in and got an early start.
Chicken I know that saying. This org http://britishredhatters2.weebly.com is a group of fun/mad over 50's who have taken Jenny Josephs poem to heart. I've always loved the poem, I had it on the wall in the lounge at the res. home and it amused my ladies to read it
Frith WOW!!!! Let's hope this is turning a corner for you
1. First load of washing done. Looks a bit grey - the sky not the washing - but if it follows the weeks pattern it'll be brighter by the time I get back at lunchtime.
2. Was able to help 3 callers overnight
More to follow, have a sunny day whatever the weather0 -
That's brilliant Frith, hope the school get a rocket put under them, they certainly need it! How great that the report actually got to the Ofsted officer though, I did wonder if it might get lost in the system.....
what a great start to the day to read this0 -
Love the poem but didnt know about the club thanks sparrer though turns out i have to wear a pink hat for another 13 months.
Frith i do hope this turns the corner for you and your ds2. I remember when i did my teacher training we role modelled sen pupils and the facilitators played horrible teachers who shouted at us for being slow and clumsy. It was a very memorable experience and i still mention it when myself teaching teaching.
Holibags tomoz. Soooo excited. Just me and OH. Dd1 will be in charge of the house and cats. So one more update from me tonight. See ya later snd have a good day.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Went to the reintegration meeting. Smaller son refused to sit at the table with us (TA and the head) and refused to agree to try and follow the 4 rules set out for him.
He got a bit silly. So during the meeting the head decided to extend his exclusion. Then we went home. :-(0 -
