Man is the root and is included in both words, therefor, both are accepted. Rite, world put to rites, cocoa and crumpets will be served.
but human can't be right - that ends in man. you would have to say person. oh hang on that ends in son. ummmmm perhaps we're now all hus (pronounced whose) and pers (pronounced purrs) to get away from gendered terminology. Though I have to say I have no objection to Chair. One of my particular pet hates is persons. What's wrong with people?
so 5 for today
1) got card from the piano tuner. He did get my message and is coming tomorrow :T
2) mum came round for lunch and I decided to take the rest of the afternoon off and do tomorrow morning insteadWork has been taking the proverbial for a while now so although I shall of course put in the hours, I shall do it where and when I like thank you very much
3) got the next 2 library books in the Corinth series

4. OH sent me a text stating that he had forgotten to rinse the shampoo out of his hair before going to work:rotfl:He just said that he had to put his head under the tap at work !
:rotfl::rotfl:classic!! You'd think he'd have noticed when he dried and combed it! I once sprayed furniture polish on my hair - or was it under my arms??
CCP - LOL re the skirt!
Kittikins - Morning has broken!! You see - that's what I'm talking about! YOu probably go to bed after a quick rendition of Lullaby Mountain or So long, Farewell and get rent a crowd round to all sing "Goodnight" as you go off up the stairs (oh - I think you live in a Bungalow, don't you? Scrap that!)
So for today
1. Cleaned the bathroom and bedroom while Harry fought off [STRIKE]Voldemor[/STRIKE] he who shall not be named - again!
2. Finally finished unpacking from Montreal - I've only been back a week
3 Lunch with DD and friend and we found DD a bargainous clutch bag for the prom on Wednesday - everything now bought and wasn't too ridiculously expensive. Though it is ridiculously expensive.
4. Pasta aubergine bake for tea - using up wrinkly tomatoes
5. Watching my latest Benedict Cumberbatch mini series on the puto. YumI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
cough, cough, splutter ,splutter!
Had to go in to work as I had the key! But home after set up! Going to doctors this afternoon, posted 2 letters, ate some maltesers, surfed the internet & pottered! down to single figures for OH's radiotherapy!0 -
VJsmum - now that's an idea, I might have to convert the loft just so we can do that!!
We do have some fab songs we sing as lullabies, ranging from Twinkle, Twinkle to 3 Times a Lady (with lady changed for our nicknames for each other of course!!), gotta love a bit of Lionel
Well done on the unpacking, I only just finished off our suitcases at the weekend, and we came back from our holiday the middle of June.......but haven't needed the ultra-summery clothes since then, so that's my excuse for laziness and I'm sticking to it!
Can't sleep again....0 -
Kittikins - yes you are up early ! Whats afoot? , you have not mentioned your OH lately , I hope all is well!
VJsmum - you sound so much fun ! OH is a man that takes too much pride in his appearance imho, double cuffed Jermyn Street shirts , Mont Blan* Cufflinks, Churches shoes (leather sole and heel of course) posh watch ... I call him the Chantecleur (sp) . But to fail to wash the shampoo out of his hair is a classic. All "fur coat and no knickers" as my Nan would say !There is me sewing up the sides of my Primarni knickers because I can't bring myself to chuck them out - sublime to the ridiculous really, such an odd couple:rotfl:
PK- bad luck re the expensive white goods all packing up at once , must be a virus:( . Freecycle any good ? A woman I know got a huge 1950's American fridge (it is stunning) as she said in the ad in the paper that she needed one pref. for free and got one. Cherry pie - whoar food !!!!!! !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Ah, yesterday...
Meeting with CAF was awful. Just about to type out a letter of complaint. To cut a long story short, the ex had been in first (to his meeting) and told them my OH wasn't allowed to speak (!) So he drove 100 miles just to sit by me.
The CAF coordinator was SO RUDE that I actually did a bit of shouting. I hadn't done any shouting since splitting up with my ex boyfriend (so that's been over a year) and I can't honestly remember ever shouting before that! That's how bad it was.
Anyway, 5 for yesterday!!
1) Smaller son went to my parent's while I went to the silly meeting. He found some slow worms and went for a long dog walk with my little brother so was happy.
2) Good to see OH, although not in the best circumstances!
3) Dad and brother made me sandwiches when I went to pick up smaller son.
4) Went to Sainsburys with smaller son.
5) Had a bit of a go at the ex for not contributing a penny to bigger son's trip to France back in June. It was obviously the day for me to get cross.
6) Got house reasonably tidy.
7) Kittens. :-)
8) OH came over here after work (awful lot of driving for him yesterday) so we had a chat about the silly meeting.
That's about it!0 -
How dare you exOH dictate to the CAF (and them accept it) that your current OH not be allowed to speak!!! Outrageous. So sorry it was a horrible meeting0
-
Thanks, Kittikins. :-) Just working on a complaint letter, thank to another MSE-er who has been through the same process.0

Afternoon, thought I'd pop on and update with some pleasures for today.
1. Went shopping last night at Mr T and people actually said excuse me if they were in my way - I do the same for people but never seem to have the same courtesy extended to me. What a turnaround. And probably a one-off!
2. An NSD today. I looked back and have so far managed 4 NSDs this month which isn't too bad.
3. Have ticked another few items off my to-do list, but inevitably added another 10.
4. Tonight is an easy tea night.
5. Going to do some more cathartic sorting.
And finally
6. A cup of tea - is it possible to get through the day without one?
I'm aiming for an easy night tonight, although the sorting will probably take up quite a lot of my time. I don't mind though as it is therapeutic, getting things in order. I'm going to embark on a top to toe house cleaning blitz soon too to make everything feel shiny.
Well, have a lovely evening everyone. (((hugs))) to those in need.
