    Evening all.

TILAMS - that curry sounds . I've just done my meal plan for next week and I'm now wishing curry was on it. :(

Skint - happy birthday for yesterday!

wbqms - your meals always sound so nice, and look nice too over on the "What's for dinner?" thread. I love bacon and leek / onion rolled up in suet pastry and baked, so the pastry goes golden on the top. It's really a winter meal, but given the weather it's probably not that inappropriate.

Tealady - :T:T:T to your DD - what a fantastic result!

I've had a much better - and nicely MSE day - today:

    1) Although I've still got a headache it's much better than it was yesterday - I think the wine last night actually helped.

    2) Got a PM to tell me I'm on the shortlist for the latest MSE book giveaway. :j I hope I get one as learning Polish would fill the gap before the start of my next OU course nicely.

    3) Followed a tip on the MSE newsletter and bought some D%iryle% on a 'try me free' offer. The only thing better than cream cheese on toast has got to be free cream cheese on toast! :money:

    4) Followed another MSE newsletter tip and signed up for a 'bite' card, which gets you money off the extortionate prices at station cafes. :money:

    5) Went to buy a jar of my usual moisturiser as I've got a gift voucher, and found when I got to the till that it's on special offer at the moment. I'll go back tomorrow and stock up on a few more jars. :money:

    6) Sent an email to L%kel%nd about one of their products and got a very helpful response within a couple of hours. I know that's normal for that company, but it's still nice to see. :T

    7) Toad in the hole for dinner tonight. It's been in the freezer but I think it will crisp up nicely after a spell in the oven.

    8) (Whisper it) - the sun's come out.

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

skint - happy belated birthday! Hope you had a lovely day (and sorry I couldn't post sooner)
    chicken (((hugs))) re your No.5

Whew, what a day! Am still hyper busy at work, but took time off at lunchtime for something to eat. I'm just happy that there are only a couple more days until the weekend. Here goes with some pleasures for today:

    1. Watched Die Hard With a Vengeance last night - always good for a laugh.
    2. Saw Mrs green woodpecker on the lawn.
    3. Had a good chat with my sister.
    4. Had a lovely shower, followed by a good scrub with a crispy towel. Mmm.
    5. My sister gave me a load of strawberries from their plant in the garden. I just realised though I've left them in my bag! Hope they're ok! Have visions of a handbag smoothie!

    Have a lovely evening, all

    K xx

Woo hoo a real 5 i have just sewn up my trousers. I hate sewing but they had frayed at the ends cos they were very long so i cut off the turn up, rolled and pinned and sewed them up.:money: All neat :~) well neatish... The real impetus was the alternative was buying a new pair. I hate clothes shopping even more than sewing :rotfl:

A good, if somewhat soggy, evening all :)

Ha ha Chicken you can call me what you like as long as it's not late for breakfast - not there's any chance of that while Bert is in residence. Re the Fonda, just wish I had her looks and height :D

Or as they say in the country TILAMS, I was up at sparrowf@rt :o

Tealady belated congratulations to your DD, clever girl :)

    1. Up at 6.10am, got the bathroom cleaned before I went out

    2. NSD but not for the want of trying, I stopped at Mr S to get some headphones but had left my purse at home

    3. A friend came in for a cuppa this afternoon, has offered to put up posters/get sponsorship for my DD's charity run when the time comes :D

    4. DD told me about broken rice, bought in bulk from an Asian shop, which makes perfect sticky rice and is much cheaper than whole grain. I'll be buying some when I take my shopping allowance out next week

    5. Met up with a friend this evening, I haven't seen her for three years so we had lots to talk about. Am arranging to have lunch with her in the next week or so

    Sweet dreams :)
