    3. Brunch in Wspoons with a friend - lovely fry up £2.99

    4. Discovered 7 birthday cards for £1 offer in cardfactry they have wide range of cards included so I got 14, enough for all family for the next 12 months, and only cost £2 ....all passed the good quality test ..... which is that I would be happy to receive one myself

    5. Rain has finally stopped so had a quick walk round the local pond... am trying to increase my exercise as need to loose a few pounds (and need to walk off the 5 chocolate digestives I ate this afternoon with a cuppa :o )

    1. ......I told him in the nicest possible way that he is "stuck" and is used to feeling miserable and I feel that he is scared of being happy as he has forgotten what its like.....

Chicken, you took the words right out of my mouth. That sums up just how I have been feeling about life in general and work. and its so hard to get out. I feel invigorated since I applied for a new job, just the step of doing something different even if I dont get the job. Hope your friend finds a way to change things, and I'm sure he appreciates your advice as I know my friends have been a great support network for me

Pleasures pleasures pleasures, plenty in a day, but I woke up feeling a bit lergied.

I think I am getting old(er) and cynical as I am completely “underwhelmed” by a young ladies misplaced enthusiasm.:p:o

    1. I remembered to make and take a tasty lunch:)
    2. I’ve been authorised to do 1 to 2 days working from home per week, I know it’s still working but not travelling makes such a difference.:T
    3. Came home to DH who had cooked dinner.:j
    4. Relaxing with a proper brew, they just don’t do proper tea in Landon.:rotfl:
    5. The night is young, it’s earlier than I thought whoo hoo.

Hello - I am back home in the land of wifi

Fantastic trip - conference was really good, delegates were jolly and friendly on the whole and have made a couple of useful contacts. So for the past few days

    1. Conference good as I said. Interesting debates and discussions that I was able to contribute to and I think people thought I knew what i was on about.
    2. Socials, too, were good. Sugar shack as I;ve already said and a gala dinner. Although I found out later that my favourite singer, Rufus Wainwright, who comes from Montreal had opened the Montreal jazz festival that night. Just as well i found out after the gala dinner as I might have been compromised..
    3. Once the conference finished us 6 delegates from our university (we were by far the biggest contingent and caused a minor sensation wherever we went), our Dean of Faculty and Serge the MC went to a greek restaurant for much dinner and wine. At one point I called the dean a miserable old s0d and he said I looked like a slapper as i had written a phone number on my hand :rotfl: Dean picked up the bill though so that was a result
    4. On the whole us 6 got on well. One of us was harder to get on with but that might have just been me! :p We were an unlikely looking bunch - 5 males, 1 female ranging from 35 to 65, with one chinese, one sri lankan, a scotsman, a welsh italian and 2 english.
    5. Nice food - both in the conference and out
    6. The weather - over the weekend it was 30+ degrees and sunny. Bliss:T
    7. My bus trip to the mountains - even though they weren't really mountains, they were desperately beautiful
    8. THe Jazz festival - yesterday I sat in the sunshine and watched the Oxford University Jazz Orchestra who were fabulous. Though really it was more the general atmosphere than specific artists (though I wouldn't have said that if I'd seen Rufus :D)
    9. Drinking my own bodyweight in red wine - mostly free.
    10. Last but not least being back home with my babies and my man.

Had 10 hours sleep in 3 days so I'm off to beddy buy buys soon.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

(((Frith))) hope you get things sorted, your poor son x :(

    1. Found out that my leccy bill is in credit, woohoo! not a huge amount, but enough to put a smile on my chops

    2. Received £4 LV in the post from doing a survey

    3. Was pleasantly surprised at the low cost of sending my bro's birthday present, phew!

    4. Helped DD finish off her homework, she's done brilliantly

    5. Have started to knit her a jumper, I'm knitting it a couple of sizes too big so that by the time I finish it, if I ever do, she'll have grown into it :) Using wool I've had for YEARS and YEARS as well, so free :)

    6. YS bargains in MrT's, not many but at least we won't die of scurvy this week

    7. Will be taking DD to do a consumer taste test of a chocolatey cereal later in the week, as I was accosted by a research lady on my way to the post office. I always stop as I reckon they have a blooming hard job and in this instance, it will work very much in my favour - as DD and I will earn £30 cash for 2 sessions, woohoo!!

    8. Dropped some library books back avoiding a fine, yay

    9. Used a £5 Group0n voucher to buy entry for us to a local farm/family fun place during the summer holidays

    10. As DD was gallivanting at a chum's, I made myself yummy Thai dinner, nice and spicy, nomnomnom. There should have been leftovers for tomorrow but it was just too nice!

    11. DD slept in her own bed last night, yay :)

    12. The joyous feeling when I woke up and realised that I don't have any workmen coming to the house for the foreseeable future

    13. Did a bit more decluttering, I will eventually have the house sorted!

    14. Bought some new ankle boots on Ebay molto cheapo as my current ones have a few too many holes for my liking.

    15. Popped some plastic crates for house moving over to a friend and had a little natter in the rain as you do :)

    16. Spent my last 50p cash on a much enjoyed can of pop from the machine at work.

    17. Finally paid DD back her birthday money I had to borrow earlier in the year, paid it into her savings account and wow, she's rich! Well, compared to me.....

    18. Received a 20% discount voucher for Okardo grocery shopping, shame I never spend £60 in one go! I tried to interest a friend who does spend a fortune every week, but apparently it wasn't worth the hassle, as you can only save a maxinum of £16 off your shopping!!!! I don't quite get the mentality......£16 is loads?!?! Oh well, you can lead a horse to water and all that.....

    19. Sitting here bathed in candlelight, lovely

Right, better get off and do some more knitting, 2 rows does not a jumper make!! :)

oooh just realised another one, I do like a nice round number!!

    20. DD and I have decided that tomorrow will be a no television and no computer day (whilst she's up anyway ;) so we can read, play our guitars, learn some more Latin, play games etc etc :)
  • 1) I pruned a few branches of my giant Weed Tree and off my super mega abundant overflowing Bay.
    2) I made a peashoot and Cabbage and Onion Slaw with Prawns Mayonaise that I got from Mr T. I didn't buy a single sandwich! I then plonked it into a delicous Pitta a recent fetish of mine from the Freezer 2x packets in stock.
    3) Shopping with my Trolley proved to be a weight lifting exercise as per usual so feeling well exercised!
4)I had a really nice chat with ex neighbour who in a previous existence on MSE was truly the Neighbour from Hell and thensome. I managed praise God! to get her to get medical help for her broken ankle (yes i know it sounds strange!) Feeling good and hopefully I am well and truly out that particular piece of !!!!!y woods?!
    5) I re-fed my Chilli plants who seem to have taken a liking to my specially formulated Chilli plant feed

Evening, everyone. Here goes with some pleasures for today:

    1. I've started planning my Christmas food. Am determined not to go into supermarkets if I have to nearer the time, so have set aside a cupboard already :D
    2. We were invited to a BBQ yesterday, so tea plans have rolled over to today.
    3. A very simple tea tonight of leftover chilli con carne mixed in with pasta.
    4. The magazine I have on subscription (which I keep forgetting to cancel) arrived with a free sample. I read last time there would be a lucky dip of 4 items, and I got the one I really wanted (an eye cream).
    5. Have started using a new moisturiser and it feels really smooth.

Hasn't it been a miserable weather day today? I don't think there's been a break in the drizzle. More like March than July, but I keep thinking to myself that we'll get some sun sometime. I hope! I spent more than I intended when I went shopping so I hope I won't be going again this week. Anyway, I won't dwell on it and will just focus on keeping away from the supermarket! Have a lovely evening, everyone. (((hugs))) to those in need.

    K xx

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'll look at the website in a mo, Skint.

Here are my pleasure for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Gave my brother a lift to B and Q and paid my birthday cheques from aunties into my account

    3) Needed to dash back to pick brother up from B and Q but popped into 2 charity shops on the way back to my car. Nothing in first one but a boy's wetsuit in the other! Just the job for our camping at the end of the month.

    4) Got my new house insurance online so will have cashback through Quidco.

    5) Sorted out with my car insurance about getting the windscreen replaced. Good that they'll come to the house to do it as the nearest Autoglass depot is 50 miles away!

    6) Made a big fruit salad from some of my fruit from the market on Saturday.

    7) Going to listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue soon in bed.

    8) Big pleasure today is that next door's cat decided to lift all her kittens from next door's shed and put them on the pile of wellies in my porch! I opened the door and they all trooped in and have been here ever since. The kittens are just over 4 weeks old so into everything. There are 2 messing with the laptop cable as I write and mum cat and kitten 3 on the sofa next to me (I didn't think the kittens knew how to get up here!)
