Afternoon! Well, evening now. Got to say it's been quite a nice day today, so here's pleasures for today:

    1. Waking up to sunshine coming in through a crack in the curtains without the aide of an alarm clock.
    2. Watching the BEST Moto3 race I've ever seen! (Go Danny Kent!)
    3. Having a gammon wrap for lunch, from a ys gammon joint.
    4. Did a load of ironing, sorting & cleaning. Feel like I've got a lot done today.
    5. The rain shower earlier has cleared the air a little, and a lovely cool breeze is now floating through the place. Such a relief after the oppressive heat of the last few days.

Skint yet Again - mmm, hog roast. Those are worth being Non-OS :D Hopefully with stuffing and apple sauce!
mcculloch29 - nice one on getting out on the trike :) we take the bike out when we can but the weather has been so unreliable lately. Here's to a bit of stable weather!

I shall raise a glass tonight. Have a good evening, everyone.

    K xx

    Good evening all!

Millie -you can't teach an old pony new tricks ...but she can teach us a thing or three.;) she is a little devil- dumpster diving for bran ! Glad that you had a light bulb moment with counsellor x

PK et al - sorry me no do pork ... marmite yes !

    5 for today

    1. Mum helped me do the front garden as I can't lift anything heavier than secateurs. I can now see out of my lounge window which was overgrown with roses. I feel paranoid being out the front anyway, I have no desire to get drawn into conversation with anyone , except my immediate neighbours . Such a waste of a huge front garden really .

    2. Afternoon nap in between Ch 4 races because the gardening knocked me out .Mcculloch -StylishW. Buick is on top form , isn't he?? Shame about the jockey Campbell Gillies being killed in an accident :( Do you remember the lovely Philip Barnard ?

    3. Mum treated us to a chinese take away for looking after the dog whilst she was on holiday. I made the egg fried rice and prawn balls to save a few quid and used the batter recipe from The Takeaway Secret. It was lovely ! I will make less batter next time though.

    4. Feeling stuffed but happy !

    5. Watching H.Potter (again) . I like the Weasleys cottage .

    have a good evening all!

eta -ooh met OH's tame frog last night. He has been digging up worms for it and it comes out every night from its home underneath the feed bins to collect the worms. A mouse also comes out at the same time ?? I have heard of the owl and the !!!!! cat -but this is ridiculous.:rotfl:I shouldn't be surprised as I grew up with a leveret (sp?) and a pigeon in my parents lounge all "rescued" by my family.
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Just my 2 penn'orth, as the granddaughter, daughter, sister and wife of career soldiers. Imho there can't possibly be enough days on which to celebrate our Armed Forces. We are able to celebrate life every day, I don't think anyone will think two days a year to remember those who defend our country, and therefore our lives, is too much. Right, off my soapbox.
Just thinking it's good to hear everyone's views, even about marmite _pale_

    1. DD phoned and asked to swap dogs as she has three beetches in season. My Spitz is neutered so doesn't present a problem but hers keeps the neighbours awake all night when he can't get to the girls . He's good as gold here, just digs up the lawn but it gets rid of the clover :D

    2. Session at the gym, I'm getting better, nearly completing the whole programme now

    3. Took a sack of bric-a-brac and a carrier bag of carrier bags to the charity warehouse

Not been too good an afternoon so pleasures curtailed. One neighbour has a large American Staffy dog and a larger than usual Staffy beetch. When the male saw the Spitz he went crazy, growling, baring his teeth and trying to climb the chicken wire fence, have to admit it scared the hell out of me. Fortunately his owner pulled him back but it's going to make life so difficult for the next three weeks, I hardly dare let the lad out. I'm going with him but wouldn't stand a chance against either of the two Staffs :(. Will just have to check their back door is closed before we go in our garden. First time in my life I've been scared of a dog!

Hope everyone's had a good day and has a peaceful night :)

    Evening all.

Mine for today, quite quickly as it can't be long until the tennis starts again:

    1) Received my L%kel%nd order, which includes a free cloth for cleaning my sunglasses. OK, they're not expensive, but I never object to a freebie! :money:.

    2) Lovely sunny (if rather windy) day, wandering round...

3)... a free food festival. In theory it should be a cheap day out, with all the free samples on offer, but there's always a few things that you can't leave without. :o At least a couple of pots of curry sauce will be cheaper than a takeaway next time I fancy a good curry.

    4) Pork for lunch for me, too: mine was pulled pork, which I haven't tried before. It was lovely (if  in price) and I've now dug out a recipe to try making my own sometime soon.

    5) Tennis and wine tonight.

Have a nice evening, all - I'm going to go and see if Andy's back on court yet...
Back after a very long break!

    Evening

Sparrer - Hope you and the dog are ok that must have been really scary for you.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Not Os but had hair done today and as my friend was in the hairdressers at the same time we got to sit next to each other so could gossip whilst we waited for colour to set.
    2. More washing dried on the line
    3. Some long awaited Love2Shop vouchers from a survey arrived in the post plus completed another survey for which I will receive Luncheon Vouchers
    4. Printed some pictures from DD prom to give to family.
    5. Afternoon snooze
    6. Looking forward to being a volunteer on the Sunwalk tomorrow. Having walked several of these events will be good to see it from the other side. Have made a packed lunch ready as it will be a long day.

    3) went to henrys tea shop and spent two very enjoyable hours tapping my foor to the papa mojo (now listeningto their cd) :j
    4) took oh for scrummy burger at ketchup using unexpected payment i'd received during the week. Ketchup does the best ketchup in the world. Not a bit like supermarket stuff. I didnt buy a bottle for £1.50 but planto experiment
    5) then to tallys which was heaving. Another brilliant band, but what a crush! And the bouncer wouldnt let us keep the door open cos of sound pollution. Met up with people from work. Even managed to see a bit of tennis as i boogied on down

A few pleasures from past week:

went to see Lady Gaga in concert last night with girls, tickets were for DD2's birthday back in March. Amazing! Yep, she's a bit crazy but she sure put on a great show!

Have made lentil soup, courgette & bacon soup, fairy cakes, lemon drizzle (from my free lemons) and a carrot cake this morning,

Receiving money for damage to car a few weeks ago in work carpark.

Getting a replacement silver chain from jewellers. I had bought it on the Saturday, it snapped on Tuesday....she tried to tell me it must have caught on something, er, no, it snapped! It was sent for repair but they weren't able to so I got a new one!

Kids are off school for 2 weeks winter break so no uniforms, no pack lunches, hurrah!

Work has slowed right down, much less hectic as uni students are on holidays.

OH is halfway through his radiotherapy, bit poorly this week but he/we are getting there!

A friend over from UK brought me magazines!! :) I really miss my mags!
