    This weekend's pleasures.

    Saturday

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Cooked breafast.

    3) Quick chat with older son about his week in France before they left to spend the weekend with their father.

    4) Went to see OH. :-)

    5) Bought loads of fruit and veg from his local market very cheaply - melon, potatoes, sweet potatoes, kiwis, avocadoes, pears, tangerines, sharon fruit and some really nice flat peaches.

    6) Got to see OH's work as he had left one of his hearing aids behind on Friday and we went to collect it. Very swish! Not like the council offices I used to work in.

    7) Tasty tea.

    Today

    1) Lie in.

    2) Cooked breakfast.

    3) Went to see OH's smaller son doing gymnastics.

    4) My sons came home.

    5) Made a malt loaf in the bread maker.

    6) My school friend came round and hasn't long gone.

    Evening all :)

    1. Not at all OS I'm afraid but I enjoyed a super lunch with friends, a baked Camembert with red onion 'marmalade' (sauce, to me ;)) and a green salad, with a raspberry pavlova for pud :D

    2. Finalised the details for a weekend convention at the end of the month with several friends. Booked into superior rooms at the Birmingham Hilton at a very reduced rate, couldn't afford to stay there otherwise!

    3. Neighbours with the dogs have been fair today, if they're in the garden their back door is open (I can see it from my back door) if not then I let Bert out. Still on tenterhooks but am sure it will be okay

    4. Late siesta before the footie

    5. Spain 4 - Italy 0 :T

    Sweet dreams :)

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday;
    1. Alarm didn't go off so overslept but with much rushing around still managed to catch my train in time.
    2. Great fun volunteering. I clapped until my hands were sore and still some and shouted so much think I may have lost my voice but the walkers were amazing from the quickest to the slowest.
    3. Got to talk to lots of different people who were interested in what the event was all about so good to be able to tell people about the charity and the work it does.
    4. Lovely sausage sandwich after shift had finished
    5. DD had put the washing out for me so was lovely and dry when I got back.

Hugs to all who need them

    Weekend's goodies

    1. DD and I went camping for the first time with our church and had a great time :)

    2. We were lent a fabulously big tent and some other bits and pieces, such lovely friends we have - they even came and put the tent up for us!

    3. Shared meals with new and existing friends over the weekend

    4. The rain didn't put us off! But I think if we'd been in a smaller tent without space to stand up and get changed into dry clothes, it may have....I think I'll be more of a fair-weather camper :)

    5. Came home to find out the electrician's bill was exactly what I was expecting, what a relief as we added bits on and took other bits away as the work went on!

    6. DD and I watched a DVD from my L*vefilm selection and ate pizza for tea when we got home yesterday :)

Monday schmunday! Hmmmm as I try to think of some pleasures:

1.work was okay. Quiet then busy then quiet. Out the door bang on time!
2.Home and pottered around. DD1 had already done a washing & hung it up to dry.
3.Took 2 bags of DD2's old clothes to charity shop.
4.Sat on bum and read a bit of book.

Think that's as much as I can squeeze out of my day. OH feeling poorly & exhausted. Hard going for all of us but especially him.

    Have a lovely day x

Smaller son now excluded from school for 6 days. Not sure what to think about it and certainly not sure what to do. :-(

    Afternoon all.

Frith - I'm really sorry to hear that. :(
Sometimes we need a hugs button

    Great idea! :T

My day today didn't start well: just as I was getting in the car to drive to work, a gust of wind caught the car door and slammed it into the side of my head. A brief visit to the local walk-in clinic later I was diagnosed with mild concussion and sent home to rest. Not surprisingly, I've been feeling a few twinkles short of a sparkle ever since!

    1) I got the bus home and, although the bus stop is only about a minute's walk from my front door, it was raining hard enough that I was decidedly soggy when I got in. Pleasure - changing out of wet clothes into nice, dry, warm ones. :)

    2) Spending the afternoon watching tennis and nursing a somewhat sore head.

    3) Very tasty lunch of hot buttered toast, French cheese and an apple.

    4) Picked the first three pods of HG mushy peas, which are now drying on my heated clothes dryer / veg dryer / proving oven (it has lots of uses ;)).

    5) Decided I don't fancy the salad I had planned for dinner now it's cold and rainy again, so I've dug out various bits from the freezer and cupboard and will have egg fried rice with pork and HM BBQ sauce instead.

Have a good evening, all, and look out for rogue car doors! :o
Back after a very long break!
  • Come home, knackered again. Looked round and got thoroughly fed up. Hope spike elsewhere shares his sausage pie.

Looked at a newbie thread about mobiles, and really, some people. You did it, or not.

    Five toady.

5 I is on the pads today, so it is bit a miss.

4 Still waiting for physio appointment. Going to be a waste of time soon, as I has done it me self.

3 Ms Sonny is looking good, working ard and .. What can I say, as she will shoulder surf as well, so gals, be so careful out there.

2 just had home strawberries and ice cream. Better than that nitro cushioned over induced flavourless stuff from the emporiums. And the plants cost about 50p as well.

1 What was the saying it is easier for the camel to go through the eye of the needle? And everyone thinks how can that be done? Well it was easy, just like threading really. Well, when the town was under threat, they would close the city gates, leaving only the narror side gates, called needle gates, open. They were just big to get men and others through. When a camel came to the narrow gate, they would kneel down to get through. Hence, you can get the camel through the eye of the needle.

    Good evening all

Frith - ((hugs)) to you x

CCP - ouch ! take it easy please ! x

PK - Frogs, mice, Seagulls and hens all eating machines. Mercurial Muriel is doing her "bok around the clock " at me - just came into kitchen to find me in the lounge so she could "Bok bok"and give me evils as she wants me to let her in the hen house and sit on an empty nest.

Tealady - sounds like you had a lovely time yesterday.

    5 for today

    1. Having a good chat with a friend at work who has many problems. All involving money and ex -wives ! Bless him- I told him in the nicest possible way that he is "stuck" and is used to feeling miserable and I feel that he is scared of being happy as he has forgotten what its like.He agreed !

    2.Work was ok

    3. Out all day on site visits for the next two days :D

4.Just made OH a toad in the hole using up the rest of the finest sausages skinned and rolled into balls . He hasn't noticed that I have given half a sausage to the Stephen Seagull :rotfl:

    5. Another veggie day for me had quorn, pesto, pasta, broccoli and soft cheese- as can't stand sausages as I choked on one as a kid !. I could do without meat tbh if I lived on my own .

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
