Millie I've just, today, joined facebook and EMW group on it!
Thanks sooo muchI don't know who you are, as I added so many people yesterday! We've now got over 400 members and the next milestone is 500. Which is fab, considering we only had 40-odd a few weeks back!
Millie -you can't teach an old pony new tricks ...but she can teach us a thing or three. she is a little devil- dumpster diving for bran ! Glad that you had a light bulb moment with counsellor x
Thank you x Pen is an absolute flipping nightmare. Just when I think I've seen it all, she comes up with another little trick! At least she keeps us all on our toes!
Sparrer - :cuddle: that sounds horribly scary0 -
Happy July Everyone...:j
Mine for the weekend are -
1. Gorgeous blowy sunny day yesterday, so all washing dried on line within minutes. I feel proper housewifely when that happens, such a pleasure.
2. Tried and hope I succeeded in making a friend's birthday just that little bit more special. She seems happy..:T
3. Had a lovely walk in the sunshine, fleece tied round waist (wow!!) - started off as a mile but ended as a 6 miler, I was enjoying it so much.
4. Good sleep last night
5. Meeting family today for lunch at one of my favourite pub restaurants. Hoping it will be extended family (visiting from down south and Australia), but they seem to have gone AWOL
Have a lovely Sunday, everyone

I'm trying to get back into being more old-style. My 5 for today are:
1. Spending time with my children in the garden, watching their performances on the trampoline.
2: Baking bread, and eating warm drizzled with organic honey.
3: Clearing, and tidying my daughters room. Rearranging her books, with her, and making it into a fun event.
4: Making macaroni cheese, my daughters current favourite, instead of the meal I'd planned. I like it too.:j
5: Changing bed-linen, and tackling clean laundry pile.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
Sunday Service again. Wish the corporation buses would run before 1 pm!
5 Had nice nite with Ms Sonny and found pennies from heaven in trouser pocket. One toooooooooooo few wobbleades and Ms Sonny was twirling. Nice walk home as well, all giggly she was.
4 Chin wag with big sis. She is good. Seems everyone is taking bets on me. We are a bit thin on top, with two aunties and an uncle left. There is talk amongst the kissing cousins about first in the next line to pass over. I should, I think collect their hard earned fifty pound notes, as I fear I will attend a few more sessions before I am not in a position to collect anymore.
3 Middle niece has just finished her O levels, or whatever. She is going to college and has a part time job. Good one girl. Following her elder sister into work rather than debt and university. Eldest know has 1 year left for her accountancy qualifications and no uni debt at all.
2 Would you believe it, but two weeks on the trot has bin Dippy eggs and Marmite Soldiers. Still had Jam on me crumpet though!
1 Prepare what you use your mouth for, and as a matter, your quil. Then, others will listen to your musings. Use what you learned with respect, just as the teacher imparts their knowledge.
Goodluck to all those who are helping others today, especially some kind of Sunny Session, whatever? I once did the Windsor Walk in 1980, 45 km. Knackered, I can still feel it now. Vowed that was the last time ever!I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
Cheers! :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0 -
Taking bets on your being the next to pass over? That gave me a good laugh TILAMS. My dad, smoker, drinker, overweight, having had a stroke, with an enlarged heart and diabetes, was odds on to go first, against my near -teetotal, non-smoking, super-fit mum.
She got leukaemia and he outlived her by six years.
Good to know there is so much support for the Armed Forces out there, like I said, I show support all year round but my concern is that familiarity may breed contempt and devalue what we have.
William Buick - WHAT a talent - and such a nice personality too.
Philip Barnard is on the edges of memory Chicken, I remember Jayne Thompson a bit better because Ron Thompson was a Northern trainer. I know people who knew Campbell Gillies, and they are devastated.
I feel too, for trainer Lucinda Russell, first her lovely Cheltenham winner Brindisi Breeze dies in a freak accident and then his jockey dies in an accident. For those who don't know, he drowned whilst swimming after drinking, whilst on holiday. My heart goes out to his friends who were with him. They must feel terrible.
No mention of how Paul Hanagan was after his fall yesterday - I will have to look again. I hope he was OK but it was a really, really nasty fall.
A simple pleasure - fruit for breakfast as usual, and a perfect Forelle pear. These are the ones with speckled skin, looking just like a trout's speckles, Forelle is German for trout. (Today's piece of Useless Information for you all.)Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Evening all.
1) A long lie-in this morning - I had intended to get up earlier so going back to work tomorrow is less painful, but I just couldn't wake up.
2) Followed up a tip from one of the MSE boards and ordered a load of mega-cheap books - 20 for under a tenner. :money: I won't be short of stuff to read for a while!
3) Dug up my HG potatoes and found that they hadn't all rotted as I had half expected. :j
4) Planted my HG alpine strawberries in their nice new terracotta tub.
5) Football tonight. Come on Italy, prove me right - please!
mcculloch - thanks for that little fact - I'm always keen on collecting useless bits of information!Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all!
mcculloch - I think Paul Hannigan is ok? . I worked for a Ron Thompson for the shortest time ever (my choice)- there were two with the same name one was based in Grantham.
skint- loads of pleasures from you ! Something to do with a week off work maybe????:D
After very little sleep due to OH calling out EH as neighbours music was the loudest they had ever heard  went on well past 2am... despite him telling them that he would turn it down he did not, could hear the music above the tv , with all double glazed windows shut . He is the one that lights a bonfire at 9am when we all have washing out.... I did feel like mowing the lawn at 6am to pee him off .Anyway ...rant over !
5 for today
1. Windy day - got two lots of washing dry.
2. Went into town and got some bargains - stuff we always use on special offer.
3. Mercurial Muriel the broody hen has been broody for far too long -months in fact ! I locked her out of the Eglu and she has been jumping on and off of the roof peering in the dining room at me plotting my demise.....and is doing so as I type . Stephen the Seagull is not impressed as this is where he stands:rotfl:
4.OH had pulled pork for tea( this sounds so wrong!!!) and I made dauphinoise potatoes which are a fave of my Mums so she had some too.
5. Picked loads of peas and gave them to my next door neighbour who was delighted .
Have a good evening all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Chicken:- A pet frog and mouse, that’s just fantastic.:) Sorry the neighbours are so inconsiderate, it’s sad we have a similar set, thou thankfully no loud music touch wood yet.
We went to pick up the Chinese takeaway last night, and have to go past MrT on the way, DH dropped me off to run in for milk and 3 mins later came out with milk and my favourite crisps “chilli chicken walkers” half price, well their hiked up price back down to the price it used to be and 48 cat food pouches, the posh whiskas grilled stuff reduced from to 9. I really am a menace I don’t like MrT at all, but invariably go in for one thing and come out with “a few”.:o
1.A very needed lay in.
2.A trip to an afternoon bootfair, and some 50p animal toys, DH picked up some engineering things.
3.Takeaway leftovers for a late lunch, not brunch.
4.Relaxing with a cuppa looking around the pond in the garden at the water lily’s in flower.
5.Fresh strawberries.0 -
Good to hear you are all having drying weather. I managed one load before the skies opened :-( but partly due to my not putting washing on over night. Must get organised on that front
1) sunny morning. Oh went on bike ride,i wrote flylady list of 15 minute jobs from 10 -1 so house much cleaner now and washing all done :T
2) made scrummy pasta salad with pesto, red pepper and black olives as contribution to community bbq
3) bbq finally went ahead (originally set for last week then yesterday). Food good, company good, large gazebo waterproof
4) watched footie at mate's. He fell asleep half way through 2nd half lol
