3 oz Currents
Zest of a Orange or Lemon
Juice of an Orange or Lemon
1 Medium Egg
Sploosh into a bowl and stir tll mixed
Grease 2 1/2 pint bowls and pour in mixture. Note it will not come to the top, but give it a good steaming and it surely will. (Edit, one of them is pushing its lid already!)
To add an extra delight, put some fresh raspberries into bowl before the mixture. For yous gals, it can be wait for it Choccie instead.
Serve with lumpy custard or thick custard, and wash away with Wobbleade:beer::beer:I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

TILAMS - I do steamed pudding (sponge ones, not with suet) in the microwave for 6 mins. Boys love watching them because they rise so quickly! Can't remember the exact recipe now.
Some pleasures for today so far as I'll be busy for the rest of the day.
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Bigger son made egg and soldiers for breakfast.
3) OH on the way over. :-) :-) :-)
4) Ran a stall at the school show (hook a duck) and sons spent all their money on fairy cakes. At the end of the show they were free so we have about 30 cakes here!
5) A large black labrador just appeared behind me in the living room and went upstairs! 5 minutes later a harassed looking man appeared and said he had been chasing it for ages.
6) Off to mum and dad's later for an early birthday dinner as bigger son will be in France on the day.
7) Nearly packed for his first trip abroad. :-)
8) SUNNY!0 -
Frith. What is this fangled device Mircowave. We had one once, but it was a blitzer, so prefer the old steamer. Boy, does it make em springy. They are ready for cutardisation already, and tea is not on!I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

Howdy lots of de lurkers :j
Millie:- Hi good to see you back, i know what you mean about the fundraising events we also do a few of them.
McHags:- I take it the two books are worth a read.
Jitters are starting to kick in for my first day tomorrow, not a fan of being the new person.
1.Several loads of washing done, still on the line.
2.Made chocolate cupcakes that turned out well.
3.Did an easy early tea of kievs and veg as we were starving.
4.Tidied and hovered upstairs well that should be I am planning to in the next half hour.
5.Told the fundraising place we don’t intend to be running it all next year, and DH is already making plans for next year’s weekends, as we do normally do more camping.0 -
Afternoon - some pleasures for today/yesterday
1. Went to a birthday party, with jellies, wobbleade and free food.
2. Stayed over, and then sausages and bacon were cooked on the BBQ (in the rain) for breakfast. Mmm, smoky smoky bacon...
3. 2 NSDs in a row. Taking June's NSD total to 11.
4. Meeting up with a friend we haven't seen for a while and having a good time too.
5. Getting home. No matter how wonderful it is to go visiting, it's always nice to come home.
6. Didn't sleep much, as Mr Kitchenbunny has hurt his back and airbeds are not the greatest for restful sleep. Ended up doing sudoku on the iPod touch for most of the night, then getting up and doing some sewing while watching the sun break through the rainclouds at about 6am.
7. Made profiteroles!
Have a nice evening, everyone.

Evening all.
Good luck tomorrow Purple kitten, hope it goes well.
My five for yesterday:
1. Scrambled eggs for breakfast
2. Did two loads of washing. Not wildly exciting but needed to be done!
3. Made some strawberry yoghurt muesli cookies. Always a bit suspicious of recipes on the back of packets but they turned out well. Didn't have a lemon to zest so had to substitute a spoonful of lemon curd. Also added some cardamom to take the edge off the sweetness.
4. Added several books to my Kindle wishlist but managed to resist buying any until I've finished the ones I've already got on the go.
5. Went for a walk by the river and came across some sort of multicultural festival. Lots of stalls selling good value food and a few trinkets from round the world. Ended up at a table where some very lively Brazilians started singing and dancing with a couple of Hare Krishnas who happened to be passing. Not what I expected when I left the house!0 -

Brought a lump to my throat ...... (((hugs))) Millie
PK Good luck for your first day tomorrow.
For today:
1. Awake at 5.30 am this morning with pouring rain and blowing a gale. Fell asleep again about 8am and woke at 11.45  but obviously needed the sleep.
2. Opened the curtains to glorious sun and its been lovely all afternoon.
3.Sorted some clothes for charity bag and some for cleaning rags.
4. Pottered in garden.
5. Cooked Jambalaya for tea, was a success but not sure if I like chorizo, so not sure I would make again. Enough left over for 2 lunches anyway.
The MICROWAVE pineapple upside down cake was however a great success !! So easy to make if anyone wants recipe
cream 2oz sugar with 2oz butter/spread
slowly add 1 beaten egg
fold in 3oz self raising flour
add 1 tablespoon of pineapple juice from tin
Put pineapple chunks in bottom of small pyrex bowl
Drizzle over 1 tablespoon golden syrup
Cover with cake mixture
Cling film over and make hole in centre
Microwave on medium-high for 5 mins (my MW 1000w)
It was delishenough for at least 4 servings

5 for yesterday
1. Went back to bed after letting hens out and woke at 9.30am .
2. Forrest hen eating the peas as I was picking them - one for her... one for me straight from the pod. It did make me laugh, she swore at me if I wasn't eating them fast enough for her .
3.Luke Nolan dropping his hands on Black Caviar at Ascot (Mcculloch and Skint I bet you were watching !! ) just squeaked in, too close for comfort me thinks.
4. Mum came back from her holiday, so hoovered all the dog hairs up and the house looks so much better . S*d the dusting.
5. Watching the film Australia (again) with Phheeeew! Jackman - what more can I say???
5 for today
1. Another lie in.
2. Made a lemon drizzle cake which turned out as flat as a pancake so I cut it in half and sandwiched it together with cream. Must have been the ground almonds with best before date of 2007 ..whoops.Tastes ok though
3. Saw my brother , SIL and neice and nephew as it was my brothers birthday. I gave my niece a bracelet which I had purchased for myself , but she like it so much I let her have it.
4. Roast chicken for tea - Yum .
5. Day off tomorrow - feeling kind of unsettled in a "good" way iyswim, as I am in the right frame of mind for a change. Must be something on the horizon ...
Have a good evening all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
