    Good afternoon all !

    OT
    - never mind you have a cosy caravan this year to escape from the elements .

    Sparrer
    - I am a tough old boot but the Secret Millionaire gets me every time

Mcculloch - nice to hear that A.R is able to enjoy the sun on his back for a few months . They often come back completely different -stronger , less scatty and filled out.A mare I used to ride was always turned out after exercise every day until evening stables when she came in for her tea - she won 6 races on the bounce at Plumpton so it clearly didn't do her any harm.

    5 for today

    1. A leisurely mooch in town early today

    2. Got my brother a Duffer sweatshirt on offer in Debenhams, it was hidden right at the back of the rail and was reduced from £50 to £20 . Plus some chocs for his birthday.

    3. Banked some change - seemed chaotic in bank as there were some transaction errors and there were queues of irrate people . Didn't affect me as I was paying cash in.Not 100% sure what it was all about, but not nice .

4.Nice email from my friend - a kindred spirit who did live "the good life"- despatched her own livestock ( a step to far for me !) and lived self sufficiently .

    5. Made OH a chilli in the slow cooker - using up stuff in the freezer.

    Have a good evening all!
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

all this horsey talk and watching Ascot have made me feel very reminiscent of my youth (sadly long gone) am quite jealous of all you horse owners, just wish I could turn back the clock...... (((big sigh)))

Sonny... tested my smoke alarm last week whilst cooking sausages :o

    Anyway:

    1. Working week over. Not back until Tuesday
    2. Not too bad at work today
    3. Leftovers for lunch
    4. Phoned VirginMedea as Tivo not working again.
Was promised call back within 24 hours... 2 days ago !! Last night I attempted to call again was waiting nearly and hour to get through, and then told they would call back within the hour..... fat chance !! Called them again today, only to be told I should have originally been told all fault callbacks take 72 hours  Am glad I'm not paying for these calls !
Anyway after fuming for a while I rang them again and went through to customer thinking of leaving line, complained and was given half month refund £16.75 so was worth complaining. Will just have to wait and see if promised phone call from them tonight or tomorrow as they have promised - will not hold my breath :p
    5. Homemade beef curry for tea smells lovely

No sign of builder coming back to measure up today, but as I was at work I will just have to hope he turned up and wait for his quote.

    Have a good weekend everyone

Not feeling to good today, but there are pleasures, it's the start of the weekend afterall

    1. Spent the day going through more things for the boot fair and now we have a scary amount, added more clothes as I have a daft amount .:o
    2. A pleasure loading it all into the trailer and car, just hope that it’s decent weather tomorrow, as it’s tipping it down at the moment.
    3. HM Burger with lots of salad and a few cheat oven chips, will be a late tea.
    4. I’m not sure this is a pleasure, but when all the stuff was out of the way I started digging my way and properly tidying up the office well box room, as there is important paperwork in there we would have no clue where anything is at the moment. I guess it’s a pleasure to be getting the place habitable.:rotfl:
    5. A big cuppa while sitting on the sofa.

    5 or so for today

    1) Sons off to school happily, bearing cakes for the sale on Sunday.

    2) Brother came round for a cup of tea.

    3) Meeting re smaller son at school. Still only doing 9-12. Still, I suppose he could have been excluded altogether.

    4) Popped into town with smaller son to get the last few bits for bigger son's school trip to France next week. :-)

    5) Very cheap dinner! Cleared the freezer out yesterday so we had curry sauce (cooked it a while back) with pigeon (shot by brother!)

    6) Going to the village hall later to have a go at bingo with sons.

Settling down now for a wobbleade, sausage GAO with onions and a nice snuclin with Ms Sonny.

Edit, I have tried three times now to put the word roll in, but oh dear

Had a good day, just had Jez round, he is at college. On of our school systems scrap heap persons. You know, wrong this wrong that. Wanted me to go through his cv. Sorted him out with cup of tea, positised him and he is off fresh tailed. He knows now that he has the qualities of us all. He just tweeted good thanks and knows how good he is.

Just annoys me, ok it will upset people, why do our schools insist on five hundred o levels, if you do not go to sixth form, you are bilge? This lad has a future, I am proud that I have been a kick start to it. First saw him in yuff club six years ago, now he is bearing the grape, the fruit is ripening.

Others in that cycle, of people putting their kids down. Get up, tell these downers to FO. this lad goes to those who listen and care, those shrinks are in only after lining their pockets through someone's misery.

Right, Ms Sonny has glad rags on, babychams alert. Oh, and I thinks the young barmaid was in same Yuff Group as well. Cor, have they grown ....
I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

    1. Helped a friend out this morning, nice to do her a favour as she helps me loads

    2. Finally decided to get my laptop repaired and discovered that a local shop has a 'special offer' on so it will be pricy but not stupidly so....hopefully I'll have it back as good as new on Monday afternoon.

    3. Bumped into someone I know when I came out of the laptop repair place, nice to see him up and about as he's been desperately ill recently.

    4. The electrical work is coming on nicely at home, and sparky's even going to come in tomorrow as he has another job on Monday! I can't wait for it to be done though so I can try and get rid of the dust, it's driving me insane. I want my house back and some peace and quiet until I can afford to do the next thing. It's been pretty incessant since we moved in a few months ago, time now to sit back and enjoy (and save up for a kitchen/plastering/fences/gardener etc etc etc)

    5. A very nice lady on freeglllle gave me a DVD player which will be perfect in my room when I set my TV up in there soon.

    6. An even nicer chap told me one of my brake lights wasn't working and then replaced it for me! He works at the garage I bought my car from and I just happened to have my European bulb set in the car. What a lovely, lovely man to do it and save me the hassle and expense of taking it to the garage - although having seen what to do, I know I could do it myself next time :)

    7. DD and I closed the curtains and had a fabulous D.I.S.C.O in the sitting room before her bedtime this evening. Sister Sledge, Rufus and Chaka Khan, lots of classics :) It's not done my stupid ankle any good but you know what, I don't care! It's worth the pain to have had a groovy time with my little chick :):)

    8. Signed up for a L!vefilm trial with Ama*on which will earn me a £20 A/zon voucher in a month or so's time. Yay, that'll be a couple of presents for later in the year sorted out.

    9. Used a voucher to get some money off an already quite bargainous men's jumper which either lucky OH or my lucky dad will receive later in the year. As they're both quite grey of hair, they'll both suit it, so whoever treats me right, gets the lovely soft, charcoal-coloured jumper.......

    10. DD and I took back yesterday's library book that she read in about 30 minutes and she took out some more storybooks.

    11. We have started learning Italian and Latin courtesy of our library books. We can now introduce ourselves and say how we are in Italian, and we can say who we are in Latin. Kittikins sum, mater sum. It's fabulous to show DD the magic of language, that many everyday words are actually Latin. The look of wonder on her face is heartwarming :)

    12. It's FRIDAY, woohoo!!

A slow day today, after a fairly busy week I think I deserve it ;)

    1. Lie in til 8am, no gym today as I had to take Kefi to the car hospital to sort out a wheel judder. Lovely man had it done in 15 minutes, I just have to go back tomorrow to get the balancing done as there was another car on the ramp at the time, he wouldn't take any money til the job is done. One of the pleasures of living in, and dealing with, a village community :)

    2. Called into the pharmacy for my meds, they said they don't stock one of the new ones the GP prescribed the other day but they've ordered it and will deliver it to me by Monday :)

    3. Had a peek in the local cs, nothing there I wanted but one of the helpers had a box a rather posh chocolates as it was her birthday, and offered me one. It would have been rude to refuse :)

    4. Back home, treated myself to a rack of ribs for lunch. A bit (very!) greedy but grilled it so it wasn'y too greasy :o

    5. All the animal bedding washed and blown dry, it smells nice for a while but don't think the pets appreciate it :p

    Sleep tight :)
  • 1. Start of my weekend, no more uni placement until Monday, woot woot!

    2. NSD & NPD.

    3. Had a nice relaxing morning catching up with my favourite TV shoes, and cooked a nice brunch for myself.

    4. Did a thorough clean of our home, one room at a time whilst watching a film on my macbook - feels lovely and tidy now.

    5. Boyfriend came back from work and made us both tea :)

Hope everyone has had a nice Friday x

Evenin all - TILAMS, agree with you. Especially as my DS is unlikely to get a zillion GCSEs but is one of the most intelligent, thoughtful (mostly) boys of his age I should think. However note 1. below!

    For today

1, DS brought home his year report. My goodness but it is a goodun. Most subjects at or above target, generally above (though we won't mention art and drama:cool:) THis time last year we started him on maths tuition and it has done wonders. 10 minutes a day and he is 3 sub-grades above target :T (for the uninitiated, the kids are supposed to progress 2 subgrades per year. Last year he was on a 4b at the end of the year. THis years target was 5c and he is on a 6c meaning he has progressed 2.5 years in a year!) the fact that he couldn't do maths and now he can has spilled over into other subjects he thought he couldn't do. So proud of him.
2 Friday is usually my day off, but had to go in for staff development today. Crikey it was boring. THe pleasure was a free lunch in the canteen
    3. and going to the pub after as it was the bosses birthday
    4. DD had cooked dinner when I got home. Soup, toad in the hole and lemon meringue pie - superb
    5. I think I am off to Korea in September and November to do some training. After already going to Stockholm and Copenhagen, with Montreal on Monday and New York in a couple of weeks, my carbon footprint this year is atrocious. Can't help but be a bit excited at the prospect, though.

    Nighty nighty
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Saturday morning here, first one in ages I've slept to a reasonable time...too late to make phone calls home, they'll all be in bed!

    Friday:
1.As usual it was Hurrah ! for Friday, had a bit of a silly, Friday head on at work & do you know it has been so long since I've felt daft on a Friday (well daft on any day really!)
2.Pleasure for kids, they had a sneaky day off school for teachers report card writing! DD1 went to cinema, DD2 made cakes & DS was usual lazy self!
3.Train into city with OH for a very late of day treatment. The city looks beautiful at night when it's al lit up.
4.Fish and chips for tea....had to wait 15 minutes for them (hmmmmm....this is why I normally send DS for them) but car was parked at station opposite chippy, so I had to wait......but managed to wander round late opening chemist & bought some Burts Bees handcream & foot cream that was in their 60% off sale! I do like Burts Bees stuff! and my hands and feet are in need of some TLC.
5.Lovely phonecall to an older friend from home, who writes lovely letters to me. Nice to chat things over with her & hear how her grandkids are (I'm friends with her daughter too, DD1 used to be best friends for years with her eldest DGD, so it's lovely to hear their news.)
6.A very kind customer has given me a loan of 2 books, first 2 in the shades of grey trilogy (she's still reading the 3rd) I commented on them the other day & she brought them in for me yesterday.......who's read them?
Books are so expensive here, I would rarely pay full price for one , so was a lovely gesture from her!

Have a lovely weekend. Don't think we'll be up to much as OH is poorly. However, weather's pants so will be nice to potter around the house I think!
