Hi, All
do you mind if I join you? I need something positive like this thread to prompt me to recognise the good OS things in life, as my enjoyment of the frugal life is starting to wane a little at the moment...
My 5 for today are -
1. Kitten's 1st birthday. I guess that makes him a young cat now. He was rather underwhelmed until I got the tuna open :rotfl:
2. Slept until 7.30am. Have been waking at 4ish every day for weeks now, so it was BLISS to break that habit
3. PJ day...all day...but sat outside and sowed salad seeds for a while in the sunshine between heavy showers and chatted with neighbours (they're used to me pottering in my PJs)
4. Cooked my favourite hm tomato soup for work lunches for this week, and gave myself an easy day by using already frozen hm meal for dinner (lush!)
5. Enjoyed shredding old documents so can now close my document holder, and I feel like I accomplished something whilst expending no energy at all :T
A lovely really relaxed Sunday :A
Take care everyone

Evening all
hope everyones had a great weekend. My 5 are............
saturday
5. had a lie in till 9.30am bliss
4. garden is looking good and there is no need to water the tubs
3. saw a tiny baby spadger with no tail feathers in the garden and he seemed to be doing well looking for grub
2. bought some peonies and they are looking lovely in my sitting room.
1. started the ironing, anyone else hate ironing with a passion? and did 2 hours of it but a large dent has been made in the pile.
well it rained sats n dogs last night but today (sun) has been rather nice warm and sunny, was suppose to go to the local car boot but didnt get up till 11.30:D
ok, here are my 5 for today....
5. NSD number 2, yay!
4. DHs been tidying the garage for a 2nd day and I can now make out the floor and the tools are mounted on the wall and it looks a lot better.
3. had a meat free day today. It wasn't intentional, we have started following a 7 day meal plan as DH has a heart problem and it gives us an idea of meal portion sizes which is what we needed to know and also some easy quick meal ideas.
2. Ironing finished.
1. Downstairs cleaned and now gleems!

Evening all
PK Good luck!
VJsmum safe journey
LavenderBees welcome
(((Millie))) welcome back. Lovely to hear your news
Mrs Veg Plot welcome :hello:
Cousin Ribby sorry I missed you, belated welcome to you too
XYZ hi to you
unclebryn don't be shy, none of us bite (hard) :rotfl:
1. Thanks Skint. The trip there, well suffice to say burst water mains, rain, roadworks and a 3 car pile-up didn't make it the easiest of drives but on a brighter note the run home was sunny, dry and trouble free
2. Cleared out the cupboard under the sink for DM, without meaning to sound gloomy she's fretting about having everything in order so have promised I'll do a job each time I go. Brought back a sack of kitchenware for the local recycling store which is always in need of things for the homeless, single mums etc.
3. DM gave me a pack of pork loin steaks, she's not keen on pork and bought them thinking they were chicken breasts. Am getting concerned about her eyesight which is fading quite fast now, but had to smile at the mistake.
4. Lovely neighbour's DD came in and let the pets out a few times, and fed the cats before I got home. She is a good girl
5. Didn't need any tea or supper after eating out today, so saved some pennies and pounds
Sweet dreams0 -
Bon voyage eh (as they might say in Canada) VJsmum, not envious at all of you going to Montreal.....0

Afternoon all.
A few of my pleasures for the weekend:
1) DSis' visit went better than I had hoped - she got a bit drunk on Friday night but it was nice drunk - affectionate and funny, not stroppy and argumentative like she can be sometimes.
2) Went round Portchester Castle, which DSis loved. I'm paying for climbing a castle with a bad foot, though - my leg's been really stiff and painful ever since.
3) Found a gem of a pub for lunch - an independent that serves home cooked, locally produced food at very reasonable prices, served by some lovely people. If you're ever in Portchester, it's The Cormorant. (The least I can do is give them a free advert!)
4) Demonstrating my dog magnet abilities with two bassett hounds, one of very few breeds that can lean against the back and front of your legs at the same time. The owner laughingly told me I was lucky they hadn't torn my throat out, as they lolled waggingly against my legs!
5) The antibiotics kicking in so I can move my foot again, and without the nasty side-effects I got last time I took this variety.
6) Being very glad we didn't go to the Isle of Wight Festival this year. What a mess that turned out to be, although there were some wonderfully heart-warming stories of local people providing hot drinks, food and spare clothing to stuck festival goers. :T
7) A lovely Sunday lunch at another pub before DSis went home: not particularly OS, but it was pretty reasonably priced and utterly delicious. I felt sorry for my poor veggie DSis, though, who was longingly eyeing up my roast potatoes - they were cooked in duck fat so she couldn't have any.
8) Curling up on the sofa last night with white grape wobbleade to watch the football, as there was no way I could limp as far as the pub. The result was very far from a pleasure, though. Darn penalties!
Welcome to the new posters I've missed over the past couple of days, and welcome back to to those who've come back.
VJsmum - hope your trip goes well.
I'll be back with today's pleasures a bit later.Back after a very long break!0 -
Pleasures for today so far!
1) Waking up with OH, albeit a bit early.
2) Waved bigger son off on his school trip to France.
3) Told there would be almost no radio contact from the travellers until Friday... 9.30am, got a phone call to say son had been sick so much, they had had to stop the bus at Bromsgrove (before they got on the motorway!) and did they have my permission to give him travel sickness tablets? Also had a text from school to say they are now on the ferry. :-) He's not been abroad before.
4) Went down to mum and dad's. Sat outside (sunny here) and could hear a muntjac barking down the valley.
5) Collected smaller son at 12 and had sandwiches for lunch then cakes from the school fair yesterday.
6) Planted my new plants in the garden.
7) Used my new breadmaker. First attempt, ended up with a lot of very hot breadcrumbs. Trrying a different setting now.
8) Sitting in the garden now reading my new book. (Am 37 today, hence the new things).
9) Looking forward to the return of OH this evening at which point he, smaller son and I will be off to eat chips on the Clee Hills. :-)0 -
Evening all.
Kit tikis. Marmite, do not believe what is written n the lid. I was brought up on the stuff, and I have heart problems and a vitamin B12 deficiency. I want a refund. I now use jump, raspberries with seeds on crumpets today.
Predictive sext and oink pads. It should be KITTIKINS? Gawd, it is worse than I thirst fought. It s raspberry jam. These pads new changing.
Not many today.
Gosh, while our tank is repaired I have be loaned a 0.0L chitron, that is a blooming, aye here I go all sexist, girlies car. It has the drivability of a bus, the road handling of a cardboard box. The rear view mirror is a much use as chocolate underpants. It accelerates fro 0 to walking pace in 45 minutes. It is too hard to drive, full stop. No wonder girlies get cut up in them, they go over road humps with such a jolt, it must put the fear of god into every user. Still, managed to rip away from the lights in it and upset the bmws, especially the black ones. Still, cannot wait to hand the thing back.
Got physiology appointment this week. Should be interesting. Not had one since I flew off the push bike a few ales ago.
Work was ok, but really kos when doing presentation today, good team held, but seriously have to thinks. Do not want to give up, but see what doctor say tomorrow, more wires I suppose.
Hi to newbies, hi to those who read and write.
Cherish those who you listen to, because it is easy that way to get friends. You have only one gob, but two ears, used in that proportioned you get respect. And read with both eyes, and write wite one hand. Damn typist, they can use both. Makes you sick doesn't it?
Off now to have some rigormortis ale, or I thinks it shall be Uley Old Spot. Nice evening for it, I will leave telephone at home, so no pictures please.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
Cheers! :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0
