  • Ooooh, looks like VJ'S reminiscing about holidays in Spain and unfinished hotels. Try the gripe bored for that, we can only offer goodness round here.

Kittikins, I has become a heathen. Not only have I got my broken heart, but I ams now sooooooooooooooooooo down hearted. Had to pop that avatar up, as marmite has done me no good, still got my vitamin B12 deficiency.

Rite, cup of tea, biscuit, and off to doctors.

    Some pleasures for today:

    1. Smells. Coming home I smelt the warm grass and, oddly, a bit later on, bacon. Weird. Still, very nice smells! (I don't have a bacon air freshener though ;) )
    2. Managed to avoid fizzy pop again.
    3. An NSD.
    4. Chickenopolis' comment made me smile. Yesterday was bad - was kept up worrying about it last night, but I'm trying to get past it. One of those "I can't do anything right by anyone" days. Am still a bit down, but it was nice to read that. :)
    5. The start of a new Grocery Challenge.

Well, I'm off to cook tea now. Might pop on a bit later as I've got a few things to research. You know me - recipes as usual. Tea tonight is a meaty pasta concoction with grated cheese and I'm hopefully going to enjoy it ... haven't had a lot of appetite the last few days.

Sorry for the downer. Normal service will be resumed as soon as the universe has rebooted.

    K xx

TILAMS - B12 deficiency.... soya milk?

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. Not such a good day today...

Went to get smaller son at 12 and they had had a bad morning with him at school. He often walks off but had been properly hiding for quite some time (TA looked very flustered). Then she mentioned about son hitting his head and being knocked out (?) She said it happened last night. Well, last night when he came back from his father's, he was in a FOUL mood, shouting, swearing, hitting out. I never got to the bottom of why.

Turns out his father took him to an amusement arcade place. No bigger son, he is in France. Smaller son crashed a dodgem so hard he fell out of the car and headbutted another car and knocked himself out. No one mentioned this to me last night. I said "What happened then?" and son said lots of people ran over, including the man who was running the dodgems. He says he was "unconcious" for 10-20 seconds. I asked where his father was and aparently he was on "another ride" somewhere out of view...

Smaller son's behaviour not much better today, very grumpy, critical and bossy. :-(

    Anyway, will try for 5.

    1) Waking up with OH. (Feels like days ago now!)

    2) 2 texts from France letting all the parents know what their children are doing.

    3) Took mum to the podiatrist who seemed emminently sensible. Obviously mum takes none of their advice whatsoever so I imagine her new insoles got binned about 5 minutes after she got home...

    4) Took smaller son to Sainsburys so actually got some food in the house now.

    5) Made a malt loaf. Still in the new breadmaker now. Smells authentic but very pale colour.

    6) Card and cheque from my auntie.

Hoping to watch Holby City at some point.
  • Right, back from doctors, chest X-ray was normal, well normal as it will ever be. Blood tests were normal, apart for the marmite deficiency. Still soo tired after six hours.

Ok, Ms Sonny with mean bean chilli pasta. Should be nice, I will add the grated cheese.

Cat seems ok after his scrap with the back stray cat. Will have to trap him and get him to cats pot reaction people.

Abandon all hope you gals, rafael is on form already. Mine is on him, a one horse race I am afraid. Corr, had to switch off the old black and white, as he bare chested himself on court. Tooooot eh?

Well, that is it for me today, feet up job.

Safe night everyplace and KK, keep picking up those crumbs. My father hated the stuff, would not have it in the house, mum used to keep it in her secret sweetie drawer. Me, I will love hate it, and take the injections.

    Evening all.
    CCP Let's meet, Head On!

Sounds like the best use for a Citroen to me! Does yours have the onboard computer system with a mind of its own? Mine's currently obsessed with ice: every time I turn the key it starts beeping and saying "warning - risk of ice". I think you're wrong there, little car!

Frith - no wonder your poor DS is feeling under the weather. :( I hope he feels better soon.

Thanks all for your birthday wishes. My pleasures for my birthday:

    1) Woke up late this morning after my favourite dream, the one where I can fly. I so wish it was true!

    2) My favourite brunch - hard boiled eggs with HM granary bread.

    3) Placed a L%kel%nd order, including something for my DSis: as she said the other day, you know you've reluctantly grown up when you look through the catalogue and go 'ooh!' at useful oven liners rather than the gadgets! :rotfl:

    4) Had to go to the supermarket so I bought myself a couple of birthday treats - a bunch of sweet williams and some croissants for tomorrow's breakfast, both RTC. :money:

    5) I'm currently making a batch of these - another attempt to find a decent use for over-ripe banyans - which are working much better now I've remembered to add the yeast. :o

    6) Chatting to my GM on the phone, although I had to interrupt briefly to chase off a sparrow which was eating my HG blackcurrants.

    7) Tennis to watch while eating dinner (subject as usual to the internet player co-operating )...

    8) ...followed by football and quiz at the pub. :)

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    5 for today

    1. First day back at work (yuk) not a pleasure but it was nice to see my colleagues.

    2. A few weeks ago some female from another department launched in to me inappropriately during a very difficult meeting . I did not agree with her decision , neither did the police, g.p etc and lo and behold I get the minutes from this meeting today and comments were had been made by other parties about her behaviour towards me. Her manager was supposed to have had it out with her .Has she apologised ..er no.

    3. Only two more days , then off for three :)

    4. Curry for tea.

    5. OH is out tonight so a quiet night in .

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Happy Birthday Frith and CCP!
    Good luck tomorrow, VJsmum.
All this talk of marmite is making me homesick. I have found it in one shop here but it's not cheap...

Some of my pleasures for the last couple of days:
    1. Been nice and sunny but not too hot.
    2. Wimbledon's started (come on Federer!). Unfortunately it's not shown on German tv and I can't listen to Beeb radio coverage due to rights issues apparently, but between Beeb website live text and official Wimbledon radio I'm managing to keep up so far.
    3. Free Bεn & Jεrry's from their van which is touring Europe at the moment. Chocolate fudge brownie -. Needed cheering up as didn't get accepted onto a course I wanted.
    4. Finding the ice cream van led me to discover a part of town I hadn't really known about before but which looks rather nice, so might well visit again.
    5. Tasty lentil soup for lunch which felt quite healthy as well.
    6. Had a good tidy and sort out of my room today, so feel like I've accomplished something.
    7. Listening to Liza Tarbuck's Radio 2 programme on iplayer. Not sure I'm really part of the target audience but the whole programme has a really welcoming and positive atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to listen to.
    8. Going to talk to my family on Skype later this evening.
    9. Caught up with The Archers to give me a little taste of England. There are some rather tedious storylines at the moment though.
    10. Making plans to meet up with friends when I'm next in the UK in a month or so.

No, no pony. :( It's probably no bad thing, though - my landlord's very good about pet ownership, but he might have a problem with me keeping a pony in the flat: its hooves would make a mess of the carpet, for starters. ;)
Back after a very long break!

    1. Low spend day, couldn't leave the half price toothpaste on the shelf now, could I?!?

    2. Marmite sandwich :)

    3. Woke up very early with OH ;)

    4. Rainbows tonight was fun, girls very random and silly, just like us grownups, hoorah!

    5. DD and I invited to join the guides at a camp fire during the summer, she'll be thrilled!

    6. Sorted out a cupboard of doom at work, shame I have no interest in doing the same at home!

    7. Planning on working from home tomorrow as the electrician needs my advice on where to put certain lights, so I'll get to save petrol and be a day closer to getting my house back in shape!

    8. DD gave me a great guitar lesson
