PK sorry to hear things are at a standstill for now, I agree with VJsmum it does sound like a govt dept.
VJsmum pleased to hear things are (hopefully) moving forward for your Dad. I've not heard of elderflower and lemon cake before but it sounds delish! Is it your own recipe?

    1. This week's sunshine was lovely, did lots of pottering outside
    2. Waited all morning for the housing inspector who was to look at the plaster on the stair wall but he didn't arrive. Phone the HA who said it hadn't been put in his diary (another useless org). Now coming next Thurs - we'll see. On the plus side the girl I spoke to was extremely apologetic, though it wasn't her fault
    3. Waging war against slugs/snails! One - or more - of the little bar stewards has eaten right through one of my beans  so the whole garden has had a second 'sowing' of crushed eggshell, and three marigolds have been transplanted to the growbag to try to save the other two beans.
    4. Two machine loads of washing dried on the line. I never get tired of the smell of air-dried laiundry
    5. Growing up, breaking chains, moving on, and not bearing any resentments

    Sleep tight :)

Hello, I'm back, haven't read back through all the pages I've missed whilst I was sunning myself, so hope that people are doing well, hugs to poorlies and yays to successes etc :)

    Recent pleasures......

    1. Fantastic holiday with OH and DD (ok, they did both drive me mad at times and I was a bit irritable with OH for a couple of days, but he seems to have put up with it ok!)

    2. I had 14 NSDs as OH had put up all the spending money, and boy did we have a great time with it :)

    3. Made new 'friends' in Italy - the baker, the greengrocer, a police lady.....who got rid of a parking ticket for me!

    4. Worked from home yesterday so a gentle easing back into work mode

    5. Lovely chat with my parents on the phone yesterday

    6. We came back to a fantastic new bathroom, my dad and the plumber have done a great job, I have my walk in shower that will make life a lot easier and the tiling looks superb. Now for the finishing off......and the rewiring next week!

5 Miss Sonny's log on at the bank come again today, poor girl, she has be locked out on more occassions than I can remember, she has her own online adviser to get her to get back in. Only fault is, these darn computers are too much for at her age, she is getting old, So Sonny helped her out this morning by explaining how to get back in and she made it through the doors. Good girl, all she has to do now is sing like the fat lady and get some money (I am am sexist as well)

4 Cor blimey guvnor, Miss Sonny knows I has a broken heart, so I get the vacuum cleaner out this morn to give her a hand and out leaps her ironing bored as well. I thinks Ms Sonny is after the insurance. No chance, Sonny is a weeble, he may fall but the bounce back is incredulous.

3 Sorry to the non footie fans, BRING IT ON. Come on ENGGGGGGGGRRRRRRLAND Wobbleades on the sway.

2 No corned beef this weekend at all, the sabre rattlers must be slain. Agaiun we are killing the children of Syria, why does this Kirchener want to do more slaying? No buying of Russian.Chinese items, these merchants are selling toys that kill. Ignorant after all the years since SM came and said his brtother died on a ship, we still ...

Good to see you back, Kittikins, and glad you had fun.

5 or so for yesterday (Thursday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Took brother's dog for a walk.

    3) Smaller son OK at school though he didn't do much work.

    4) Got lots done with smaller son after picking him up at 12. We jet washed the car (I did the brush, he did the hosepipe) and hoovered it out. Got me some hay fever tablets then went to the greengrocers.

    5) Smaller son played with the wooden train track for ages. Its the sort of toy that gets put away and they almost forget about it then its exciting when it gets brought back downstairs.

    6) OH came round. Think he might be getting a cold, he was very quiet.

Not much planned for today. Just a phone call from the local councillor about my son not getting a bus pass to high school. He is going to talk with the district councillor later and "lobbying" was mentioned.

Hurrah tis Friday again....even better , my working week is over!

1.Nice, gentler pace at work today, was very productive though & got so much done.
2.One of my customers being so nice. We were chatting about one thing & another and I was telling her about OH (to do with the degree she is studying) and then she told me her partner died last year (which I knew) but it just really upset me . He was only 25 and had secondary bone cancer to a melanoma. Anyway, hugs all round and it was nice to be able to speak with someone who knows a bit what I'm going through.
3.kookaburras, parrots, lorikeets and ducks who sound like hens....they seem to cluck rather than quack!
4.A very nice relaxing bath and jammies on!
5.OH had a day off from radiotherapy :) He is starting to feel the effects of it, so a day off was good. Back tomorrow though but at least I can go in with him for that.

    Enjoy your Friday x

    Another pleasure!

Bigger son went to an open afternoon at his new high school on Wednesday. Lots of children were there from the other village primaries and they were put into groups with several children in (most from other schools). He got put into a group including his best friend from school....

...they were all asked to introduce themselves to the other children in the group...

...so my son and his friend spent the afternoon being called Todd and Mohammed!

Pleasures for today? Not very many, truth be told. I guess I'm just having a hormonal "one of those days" kind of thing. I shall try, though...

    1. Tried blogging again. Just to see if I could, but feel weird about it already. We'll see.
    2. Found a penny.
    3. Am not at work today.

That's about it - nothing else really smileworthy has happened. Must be hormonal. Sorry all.

    K xx
