MCCulloch I've just finished reading"Wish for a pony". I loveall the M E books. I am hoping to buy as many titles as possible [ as well as those of KM Peyton] Years ago, in my youth, I had a lot of these books as well as the Pullein-Thompson books. I gave them all away as I grew up. What a shame I so regret it now. Several of these titles are very expensive now. I just thought they would be available for ever.0

Evening all
been absent for a week as I went on my jollies! Originally DH and me were going to be camping in the new forest but decided to give it a miss due to the weather. Now we are experienced campers but we chickened out in the end. Booked a ferry crossing and spent time in northern France, Belgium and Holland but its always good to get back to your own bed!
anyway, missed you all and hope you had a good week.
my 5 for today.....
5. sleeping in my own bed
4. proper bread not dusty cardboard (dont mind it occasionally but prefer doorstops)
3. saw a sparrow hawk in my garden and was elated as all the work DH and myself have put into selecting and planting wildlife friendly plants, sighting feeders and bird boxes, installing and managing a wildlife pond means we have a wildlife balanced garden
2. shopping at sainsbugs and not being shocked at how much food costs. Thought food on the continent was rather high in comparison to GB prices (but the wine was cheaper!)
1. Oh did I mention.... my own bed
hopefully back to normal now with the daily 5!!
night all...SPC Nbr.... 1484....£800 Saved £946 in 2013)
(£1,010 in 2014)

Yep, it's doing the same here. I have no idea how the fence is still upright. (Well, as upright as it gets, which is not very - next door's cat can almost walk up it rather than climbing!)oldtractor wrote: »MCCulloch I've just finished reading"Wish for a pony". Pleasures........
1. DD's school fete today, we worked like little ants from early morning to help set up and then run our stall
2. Managed to spend less than anticipated, maybe because my stall was busy so I didn't get to wander around too much and DD was happy running around with her friends and then coming to me for moolah when she needed it.
3. Bought loads of books for DD and I molto cheapo
4. Reserved a children's teach yourself Italian book at the library and saw my favourite Library Aunty
5. DD and I sitting cackling whilst watching Mouse Hunt on DVD, one of our cheapy purchases at the fete
6. Going to let DD have another night sleeping in my bed. Moi, too lazy to sort out the stuff in there and change the sheets?!? Perhaps I am!
7. Thanks to a £10 e-voucher I have had sitting on my account for ages, I've booked a train ticket for me and DD to go and see a friend over the holiday for the grand sum of 65p! Travel to London and tube pass for the day, quelle bargain0 -
Evening all
OH is away with his mother for the weekend so am tucked up on my ownsome, kids in bed. There was a time DS would have been in this bed like a shot if OH was away. I know it's right that he doesn't need to do that any more, but I kind of miss it!
Anyhoo for today
1. a lazy morning as OH took his mother away. So no-one to make me feel like I should be doing stuff
2. Watched another Sherlock with DD - we were going to go the flicks but couldn't find anything to watch
3. Did the shopping at @ldi and Morries
4 Out for a pub meal with friend and 2 of her DD's and my two. Veggie shepherds pie was lovely.
5. they came back for an hour or so as pub is only 100 yards from our house.
Big house clean and tidy up tomorrow. Plenty of HP to listen to though.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Sunday morning here, sun is out but it looks cold! I have dealt with an email that had been sent to me a few days ago, which I felt was very negative . I deleted it straight away (was from a family member), however, it did need a reply so that has been done! I feel better for having sent it!
Saturdays:
1.Up ever so early (4am....groan!) but did mean I could phone 2 friends and my sister.
2.Train to city with OH for his treatment. Got another book out of 'trust library' and returned one I had read.
3.Adventure coming home....train was off, so had to tram part way & get a train at another station......me :I'd have got a taxi home but OH was saying , 'come on! '......so MSE by default!
4.Snoooooooze on sofa!
5.Another snoooooooooze on sofa after tea! All lost sleep caught up on!0 -
My five are
1. Meeting a friend for coffee and having a long chat.
2. Seeing a field with long grasses in it and realising how beautiful it was with the different coloured grasses.
3. All ironing done.
4. Tidying the garden and planting a few more beans.
5. Doing a cheap weekly shop.
6. Reverbing 5p0 -
Morning. Five for yesterday:
1. Went for a meal with the family and tried a different item from the menu (will be trying to recreate at home, I think)
2. Went shopping and only spent £9.82. Would have been so easy to spend more. I was good!
3. Watching Le Mans 24 hour race on tv.
4. Have taken a few items off the shopping list so we won't need as much.
5. Watched Captain America from LoveFilm - was better than I thought it was going to be
Have a lovely day, everyone. I'm getting a cold so feeling a little snuffly this morning. It'll go - it never seems to develop into a full-blown cold with me so I shall ride it out.
