5 for yesterday, if I can remember!

    1) Waking up with OH. :-)

    2) Quiet morning tidying up.

    3) Meeting with head at 11.30 where she admitted she had been mistaken over the exclusion thing and it is illegal so he is now away for afternoons for 2 weeks, rather than 16!!

    4) Took smaller son to the dentist. He wouldn't go upstairs but the dentist came down to examine him in the waiting room, which was good of him.

    5) Son and I started wire brushing paint from the front of the house ready for re-painting.

    6) OH came round. :-)

    7) Tasty tea. Made a courgette flan during the day then OH made a salad of giant cous cous, salad leaves, tomatoes, walnuts and goats cheese.

    8) Sister popped in with chocolates she bought me whilst running a school trip to Flanders.

    That's about it!

Sonny that's humbling. To receive candyfloss would seem flippant, but then i read one of her quotes 'No one has ever become poor by giving' so it would be churlish of me to prevent you giving me candy floss :-) do they do it in rainbow?

Chicken:- I am looking forward to it, and they did call today to say they are still waiting for signatures, but when I was in with the chap I would be working with he did say they can take a while to get sign offs. So with that in mind I have kept on applying for other roles just in case this one falls through.:o

1.I tidied a load of clothes today and got a big bin bagful together for CS.
2.Putting together things for a boot fair stall hoping to do one very soon, just not sure I can tolerate the hagglers. They drive me

3.Phoned Ddad, popping over at the weekend, hoping he will be on good form.:)
4.As it has been lovely and warm, cut the grass again, it’s not a big lawn but it does take it out of me.
5.HM Coconut and pineapple chicken curry with nans all from freezer contents.
    6. Another NSD/NPD.:j

This is not pleasure:( I am tackling my first ever end of year abbreviated accounts, so off to try and work out what’s needed over the next few days and see how I do. If anyone out there has advise hints or tips please feel free to pm me.

Head over to the tougher thread and touch base with kidcat; she has been having major problems with school and one of her sons. She might have some ideas to help you?

Although growing up in yorkshire we always called them pikelets, but southerners wouldnt know what I was on abaht if I called um that

Speakin of gouty knee ... I have swollen knees at the moment too but think its from kneeling to do the decorating, hope yours is not too painful x

In South Wales, where I was born and raised, drop scones were known as pikelets. Crumpets were crumpets.
My mother never made drop scones/pikelets and the only time I ate them was at Sunday School teas at Whitsun and New Year.
When I learned to bake more extensively, after leaving home, I was delighted to discover what drop scones were. I made huge platefuls for Sunday teatime.
I was also a bit miffed to discover that the famous pancakes of the States were actually drop scones, when I went to New England and Canada on holiday.
Sadly my son isn't keen on them and I'm trying to cut down on carbs, so I don't make them often now.

    1. Smashing concert at live music club last night.
    2. Hour's chat and catch up with D.Sis on phone.
    3. DS taking me shopping at Aldi, 6 miles away. He owed me some money so he paid.
    4. DS was forced into missing his exit at the roundabout (by an idiot driver who got in the wrong lane) on the way back from shopping, so we ended up taking a very long route home through the south west Durham countryside. It was lovely, particularly out near Denton where there are some spectacular views.
    5. Sharing all your troubles and pleasures. Thank you.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
