Evening all.
TILAMS / DD - thanks for the info about Anne Frank - I've made a mental note in case it comes up at the pub quiz tomorrow.
1) Heard a song on the radio that I haven't heard in years (Jessie by Joshua Kadison (sp?) if anyone else knows it?).
2) Reverbe'd a penny.
3) The rain's stopped and the sun's come out.
4) Prawn curry for dinner, which I found in the freezer: it was lovely and I ate far too big a portion.
5) More football to watch tonight - I'm thoroughly enjoying having matches to watch every night.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

5 or so for today.
1) Waking up with OH. :-)
2) Boys to school without much fuss.
3) Psych nurse phoned for my initial assessment. :-/
4) Popped into town after lunch with smaller son and got the paint for the outside of the house.
5) Emails from OH.
6) Lovely weather now, boys playing football.
7) No OH so going to have an early night and sit in bed with some hot chocolate, a hot water bottle and Holby City.0 -
Oooo, number 8!) Got an answering machine message from our local councillor after I wrote about bigger son not being entitled to a bus pass because we live too far from the nearest school (!)
He's going to look into it with another councillor and try and sort it out.
(That's the first message I've ever had from a Conservative - it didn't hurt a bit!)0 -
And the diary would be, what, 70 years old yesterday? Shocking to think those events took place not so long ago and look what is happening to the world now...
Annyyywayy 5 for today
1. DD said her maths GCSE was easy
2. Caught up on most of my outstanding work items and most of the rest will get done on the train tomorrow when I go to visit dad - and give the medical staff what for (politely of course!).
3. OH has been planning the america holiday - everything is getting very close
4. Getting nice feedback from students about my module (apart from one who wrote "there was nothing good about this module" and then proceeded to whinge about his poor assignment mark. Don't think it will carry much water somehow:rotfl:)
5. new fish recipe for tea - YS coley topped with breadcrumbs mixed with lemon zest and juice, mixed herbs and garlic with crushed up crisps on top. Even DS proclaimed it "alright" - damning with faint praise, but he asked for seconds
so off for a train day tomorrow - always a bit stressful the hospital visit but needs must.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. HM granary bread for breakfast, yummy
2. Lunch with the girls, nice to catch up
3. Duck curry turned into duck with chilli sauce for dinner but still very nice
4. Nice chat with neighbour since the jubilee everyone is much more friendly
5. Just booked a family holiday for July :j:j:j and by taking out the airplane meals and transfers saved over £100. Will take food with us and can book a minibus on line for 32 Euros for the 3 of us. Have never been to Malta so really looking forward to it.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
1) Heard a song on the radio that I haven't heard in years (Jessie by Joshua Kadison (sp?) if anyone else knows it?).
CCP, that was the first cassette single I ever bought! I remember it very well and it's still a fave of mineYep, the guy is Joshua Kadison - he had lovely long brown hair iirc.
K xxTrying for daily wins, and a little security in an insecure world.0 -
By 'abbreviated accounts' would this be simple 3 line annual accounts btw - i.e. annual total gross income minus annual total business expenditure leaving annual total net profit?
I worked as a registered childminder for many years and the final page of the cashbook was always this three line summary.
Edit: There is very clear guidance online from HMRC.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Wow thanks for the comments :T.. It has been suprisingly simples so far.. I have companies house logins which is a god send. All is going well so far fingers crossed.0

Tealady hopefully you'll love Malta, it's a beautiful island with the most amazing scenery
CCP another one here who likes that song, well I would, I have a DGD by that name
Frith hope the councillor gets your DS his pass, seems wierd that you can't have one because you live so far from the school!
1. A beautiful sunny morning, mowed the lawn and it looks so much better.
2. Everything is so waterlogged I'd just about given up and thought I'd have to replace it all, but at least the beans are climbing at last, they didn't drown after all
3. Opened all the windows to let the fresh air and sunshine in (and turned the heating off)
4. DGD1 and DGS1 came for lunch, a lovely surprise as they're both so busy with their own lives. They've arranged to come next Weds also. Sent DGD home with some of my special Jubilee cakes for her lovely bf who was working so couldn't come too.
5. Excellent meeting with friends this evening and good that it was still light when I got back. It was nice not to have to turn the porch light on to see where the lock is on my return.
Sweet dreams0
