Mm, skint, crumpets. Lovely winter food!
Chicken - sorry about your poxy day
FOr today
1. Got a lot done re housework today and some chores this afternoon
2. Took DD out for lunch with my friend
3. Got a new Harry for the housework. Have to skip "Azkhaban" cos the library didn't have it so i'm on "Goblet of Fire" now - at least it's nice and big so should last me a few kitchen cleans
4. Baked some yummy cake - lemon and elderflower and chocolate coconut. I think chocolate and coconut combo might be one of the nicest things ever.
5. Dad is quite chirpy and back on his feet a bit. Don't know what happened to knock him off his legs last week. I am going to have to go down and be a dragon I think just to get some answers. But at least he isn't miserable and defeatist so that's good. Can't stand self pity and the "I'm never going to get home again" type stuff so I'm happy to not be dealing with that as well.
Though talking of self-pity - I think I have a gouty knee :eek:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
DD Bah Humbug, aye but tee her hee. I still has leftover Christmas pud. Brewing since last October. Should be good on Sunday. No sell by date on home made.
Curry Poodles? Have I missed something? Just look what happens when the cat gets out.
Five for today.
1KNC.
2. Doctors tomorrow, too tired again. Ms Sonny is wearing me out. I am left with a broken heart.
3. I do have a pacemaker.
4. Watched Engerrrrrrrrrrrrrland. The Ghost of Leon will wait another few years to be exorcised.
5. The lions will become weak and hungry, only those who seek riches, will receive good things. Gather now children, listen to wisdom, seek the truth, and lack nothings.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

Evening all
Chicken according to my bmi I should be in the 7 1/2 to 8 stone range, if I went that low I'd look dreadful so think my goal is okay. I love your poxy word of the day, and will be pleased for you when the poxy mgr leaves. Re the 300 y/o cube - I hope your OH appreciates how rare these are, second only to 1000 year old eggs
VJsmum I absolutely understand not liking self-pity, unfortunately it makes me cross so I'm a lousy friend to anyone who's down on themselves
PK I wish I knew what it is, just a plain pot with a list of ingredients on the label. I have to write three reports on it, the second I did today and said in the comments section 'Pretty please, tell me what this is!'
Skint yes it was me. My latest experiment was to put half the mixture in the dish, spread blueberries over then add the other half. A bit messy to eat but very yum. Pleased you like them. I love Moroccan food, how do you do the lamb?
DD First class carriage, how posh! Never travelled 1st class anything, you'll have to let us know how it was
(((Mhags))) you're both doing brilliantly
1. DNeighbour asked why I don't have all the slugs and snails on my patio that they do during this foul weather, told her because I scatter crushed eggshells around the plants and slugs/snails won't go on them. Funny I don't feel at all guilty that both neighbours have my 'share' of them
2. Picked DD up and went to the gym for a session. Instructor had a word and will probably up the exercises in a week or so. One big advantage of that is I can relax a little about what I eat and not feel guilty. Not that I do, most of the time
3. A friend came for a cuppa this afternoon, she was drooling over the smell of bread so I gave her the loaf I'd just taken out of the bm. She phoned later to say it's almost all gone and her DH was on line looking at bm's
4. Phoned the Hilton in Brum and booked myself and two friends in for a convention in July, thank goodness it was a special rate!
5. Have just eaten the sweetest mango
Sleep tight0 -
M y five for the past couple of days are
1. Making more cakes for DS1 and for us - I do enjoy a baking day.
2. A NSD
3. I had to buy a new iron - my old one broke and it was reduced and irons really well.
4. DS2 revising without being nagged.
5. Good tea of toad in the hole0 -
PK - thanks for virtual wobbleade and doughnut ( who ate a bite first PK? )
VJsmum - Phwoar !! chocolate and coconut cake defo. a YUM YUM for that
Dundee - re refs. my fault for not "doing it as I go along" so when I have finished assignment and think phew... I had refs to do. Was contemplating doing a Masters in Social Work but can't face all that again.:D
Sparrer - The 300year old stock cube is a secret ....he ate it all without fuss so why spoil it !!;) have you seen that woman on the news who started weight lifting in her '70's wow talk about buff ! Good for her !Sparrer I know you are not in your 70's but its not you is it in your new gym gear???;)
Have an unpoxy day all !!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
What a day yesterday! Kitchen was taken off EBay :-( Then went to smaller son's CAF meeting, chaired by the nasty CAF women. :-( 2 hours of her spouting absolute rubbish with 15 minutes of the ed psych actually getting to speak some sense.
Basically, school still want rid of smaller son. They've decided to extend his lunchtime/afternoon exclusion for another 14 weeks!
Then the ex went in for his meeting. He had sons for tea yesterday and they came back saying Daddy had said the meeting was stupid and that my OH shouldn't have been there etc. So it was a long evening with sons being scathing and mardy.
Will try to think of 5 pleasures!
1) Got lots of admin type jobs done.
2) The surveyor came round so now my new window frames are in production. :-)
3) Went to Sainsburys.
4) OH went to the meeting with me then stayed here. Hadn't seen him for 6 days so was glad he was back.
5) My home made blackberry wine was nice.0
