Have a good evening, all, and a good next couple of days - I won't be posting tomorrow as I'm off to spend a night in a hotel before my exam so I don't have to fight the rush hour traffic on Monday morning. Then 10am Monday is exam time - wish me luck!

I spoke too soon - I've got more time before my train than I thought. :)

Good luck CCP ...... and get you! A night in a hotel! Enjoy!

Exciting, isn't it? I go away so rarely that I've been almost looking forward to my exam just because it means I can stay in a hotel, although I'm feeling slightly less enthusiastic now that the exam is less than 24 hours away.

    1) A nice lie-in this morning, although nothing like yesterday's. ;)

    2) Demonstrated my dog magnet skills to the pet-sitter when I went to drop off my front door key: her spaniel refused to leave my side to go for a walk until physically dragged away! :rotfl:

    3) Treated myself to a brie and bacon sarnie for lunch: I'm feeling slightly nervous now and didn't have much appetite, but I've got to be feeling really ill before bacon stops being tempting.

    4) A lazy afternoon with no studying or revising: I've read some of book, watched some tennis, and played a few levels of a computer game I haven't touched since before the start of my course. :)

    5) Worked out that I can watch the football when I get home tomorrow, followed by the replay of the grand prix I'll miss this evening. :D

    6) Looking forward to my night in a hotel, despite the exam that will follow it.

Have a good evening, all, and I'll see you tomorrow.
Back after a very long break!

    All the best, CCP!

    5 for me today:

    1. A lovely long walk along the riverbank in the sunshine.
    2. An easy tea tonight with leftover chicken & bacon pie & mash.
    3. I found 5p.
    4. Snacking on value cornflakes, watching the bike racing.
    5. Proper cups of tea!

    Have a lovely evening, everyone.

    Good luck, CCP!

5 or so for today (Sunday)

    1) Bit of a lie in.

Emptying the freezer out a bit so

    2) Nettle soup for lunch and

    3) Sausage casserole and garlic bread for tea.

    4) Sons built a campfire by the den.

    5) Smaller son stroked a tame crow! Then it flew down on to our patio and ate some roast chicken I had put out for the cats.

    6) Sister has a boyfriend! She was in a very unhappy relationship from the age of 17 onwards and has been by herself a long time because of it. But has a nice, new man and has been camping. :-)

    7) Texts from OH.

    8) Had a good tidy of the kitchen including behind the units so its all ready for the possible "new" kitchen. :-)

    9) Getting ready for the CAF meeting tomorrow, had a lot of help from people on MSE and have my paperwork in order. Son has barely been allowed in school for a month so may have all guns blazing. OH will be there too. :-)

CCP:- Good good luck for tomorrow.
Rainy Days:- Hope the tarot cards are kind, they are something I am curious about, but haven’t got around to learning about yet.
Kitchenbunny:- Nothing beats a proper cuppa.

    1.A Sunday lay in.
2.Meandered over to an afternoon boot fair, it was awful, but pleasure to try.
3.Made a hot sausage roll with RTC’s from freezer, planning a healthier prawn and noodle stir fry in a bit.

5.Scanned in work documents they requested to give them something to do in the morning – a pleasure to get out of the way.

    1. Friend came over for a chat, she used to live round the corner but has now moved a mile away, she doesn't drive but dodged the showers.

    2. I was able to offload some clutter on to her for a fundraising car boot sale - a now unwanted cordless phone plus extension phone and some software I was sent to trial that I didn't want to keep.

    3. Pleasure in my CS bargains - I repaired a 99p Harrods bag's broken zip in five minutes and am snug in a new looking pale mint green cardigan that cost the same.

    4. Working out how to replace the light bulbs in the new to me light fitting that I have - the replaced bulbs were original, and hopefully the new ones will last a while.

    5. Friend took her goodies home in a shopping trolley that I had bought a few years ago but no longer use. I probably only used it a few dozen times at the most and it's in good nick. She was thrilled with it. She's developed some arthritis and carrying heavy bags is painful for her.

I'd bought the trolley originally when on catching a bus home from a town some miles away, was informed that it wouldn't be going to my town as planned, but would be taking a detour down the A1 motorway to the terminus.

Laden with shopping bags I had no choice but to buy a shopping trolley ( from Wilkinson's so not expensive) as carrying them the extra distance from the terminus to the bus stop and back home was just too much for me.
I've since replaced this trolley with a push in front trolley, again bought in an emergency, when I was out shopping for 'just a couple of things' and had bought too much to comfortably carry...

    3. OH came home with many boxes of toothpaste (Colg*te) from Mr. S - as they were in retro packaging for the jubilee no one had touched them - so they were going for 25p a box - we have enough for the next 60 years now !

    3. My brother and family have just got back from a holiday in France- carp weather , but I can settle now he is home .Don't like it when my folks aren't "close by" .

    Chicken - strawberries, or rain?

I don't work monday's but still feel like the weekend went too quick.

    So for today

1 New table - well old table but new to us. In the conservatory. A friend was going to chuck it out and ours was awful - warped beyond repair and terribly scruffy on top. So for the price of a couple of bottles of wine we have a perfectly decent table again
2 We borrowed a trailer to fetch said table so used the opportunity to chuck out some carp from the garage
3 YS roast joint of sirloin eaten at the new table. Original price was £14!! I paid £4. I made my own yorkies and they were amazing!!!
    4. Did a few chores with Harry - have now finished Chamber of Secrets so need to get the next. Cleaned kitchen and conservatory
    5. The mountain of ironing is now not quite so structurally unsound - following on from another thread I watched one of the hoarders programmes whilst I did it.

    Have a good monday all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
