Xmas dinner all done :D and now wishing it as boxing day tomorrow...
    1) serious sorting of toiletries. Everyone now has their own plastic box of goodies and the old,the out of date andthe unidentified has gone in the bin :T
    2) DDs helped prepare DD2's birthday dinner aka xmas dinner in june. Lovely to havethem home :j
    3) DD2's godfather and partner arrived same time as DS returned from work. DD2's bf bit delayed but xmas dinner is forgiving.
    4) dinner was superduper albeit minus sprouts, parsnip and cranberry sauce. Xmas pud was loverly (lidl bought just after xmas) cake was mt t jubilee one (DD2 very keen on british history)
    5) played very silly game of paper chinese whispers:rotfl:
    Tired out but happy.

CCP good luck, everything x'ed for you :D. Enjoy your hotel stay, make sure you make good use of the freebie toiletries ;)
Chicken another 2lb and 4 weeks to go for this challenge, but I've now lost 3 stone exactly in 18 months :). The next challenge is the final push, aiming for 8 1/2st. Had a chuckle at your OH and his toothpaste haul, you'll all be grinning with sparkly smiles - :D - just like that!
Frith hope all goes well tomorrow. When does the auction end?

    1. Very lovely DNeighbour phoned this morning to ask if I was okay as she saw the cats out late last night (I was very late home), and early this morning (had to get up at silly o'clock as I was going out early) so she wasn't sure if they'd been out all night. I'm so lucky with both sides, I do think I have the very best neighbours :A

    2. Met with friends this morning, we all went out for a meal to celebrate someone's birthday. I ate too much but it was good! :D

    3. We were talking about holidays and someone asked if I was going away. I mentioned I was thinking about Barcelona on my own, and there are now three of us going! Also going with them to a convention in Birmingham at the end of July, I went a couple of years ago and had a wonderful weekend so am really looking forward to that.

    4. Can I blow my own trumpet? Last night on the way home from the exhibition my friend said 'you look so radiant tonight'. That in iteslf was a lovely surprise, then today at lunch one of the ladies kept looking at me, then suddenly said, 'I can't get over how radiant you look'! Both these ladies are some 20+ years my junior so what a huge complement!!! What they don't know is I'm trialling a moisturiser for a large High Street company and it's brilliant - just wish they'd put the name on it so I can buy it, because when the trial's over I'll be going back to my old, wrinkly self  :D

    5. A few days ago I decided, after a lot of thought, to back off from a relationship with a small group of friends, hence my planning to do things on my own for a while. Today has proved that when one door closes another opens, I certainly wasn't alone for long! God moves in mysterious ways...

    Sleep tight :)

Dundee - you have had the "C" word already??? I am impressed although not at all surprised somehow:D

Sparrer - well done you ! Don't get too skinny ;) .. you know my saying " If the door opens and no one comes in its you! "

Monday evening here.....I have to iron & I can't be bothered so I'm procrastinating online instead!

1.Into city for Radiotherapy session with OH. I found it very emotional whilst in waiting room, we were waiting for ages, I got another 'trust' book which I have read all day & just finished! There were some poorly souls waiting & I think it really hit home what he/we are going through. There was a young child waiting too (which upset me). Cancer affects so many people. The kindness of the staff today touched me too.

    2. Kids joined us in the city and we went out for lunch to have an early birthday celebration for DS. Then got the train home. Lots of fun & laughter & a lovely meal.

3.Chatted with my sister on phone.

4.Sat in dining room where sun was coming through window & chair was above floor vent, it has been so cold today & I was cold right through to my bones all day, so nice to warm up at last. It was 3o this morning when we went out and very damp & misty & raw.

5.Read my book, had a wee snooze on sofa then finished the book!

It was so nice to have an extra day off work...back to the grind tomorrow though!

    Afternoon all.

Thanks very much for your good wishes. :) Sadly the hotel stay proved to be less than brilliant: my room was so noisy, and the bed so uncomfortable, that I had real trouble sleeping. :( But:

    1) The hotel staff were lovely and refunded my money when I told them how badly I'd slept. (It's the chain that offers a money-back guarantee if you don't sleep well - apparently they really mean it. :T)

    2) I was awake well before my alarm went off so I didn't have to rush.

    3) Met up with a couple of people from my tutorial group and had a very pleasant 20 minutes or so of chatting before the start of the exam.

    4) The exam went OK-ish - I think I did one good answer, one not-bad answer and one barely OK answer, so I hope it all balances out to a decent overall mark. I'll find out at the end of July!

    5) Finished the exam 25 minutes early so I left to find a decent pub (in accordance with your words of wisdom, Chicken!): sadly Southampton seems to be sorely lacking in such essential facilities - the only one I could find wasn't at all worth drinking in, even after an exam - so I got home nice and early instead.

    6) Changing into dry clothes when I got home, having got drenched in my unsuccessful search for a pub.

    7) Lovely purry cuddles from mog.

    8) Lots of sport tonight, which I will accompany with a naughty takeaway pizza to make up for the lunch I didn't have. I've found a decent voucher so it won't be quite as expensive a treat as it would otherwise be. :money: (Well, sort of! ;))

mhags - huge hugs to you.

Have a good evening, all - I hope everyone's away from the floods which have affected parts of the south coast today. :(
Back after a very long break!

Afternoon! Though I've been browsing the forums on and off all day today, I've only just got around to posting my pleasures. It's been a quiet day here but that's ok :)

    1. Another NSD. Taking my total for June to 5 so far! That's way more than I'm used to and I'm over the moon about this. :)
    2. Making good inroads on my cross stitch. I've just about decided I'm going to make a shopping bag from the finished one, so am now looking about for a pattern.
    3. Watching Mr Kitchenbunny on GT5 :)
    4. Got 2 baskets of ironing done and put away.
    5. The promise of an easy tea (pasta bolognese), footie on the telly and a hot bath later.

mhagster - thoughts go to you and your OH. I'm getting a bit tearful thinking about it. (((hugs)))

    Have a nice evening, everyone

    Good evening all!

    Mhagster ((hugs)) to you .

CCP - well done you - you have no more TMA's to worry about or poxy referencing ! That was the best bit about the exams no refs .!

    5 for today

    1. Poxy day at work ( I like the word Poxy today!)

    2. Poxy boss tried to humiliate me in front of my team by highlighting how bad I was at updating spreadsheets ( as were two other members of the team who were not in today) Told him in front of all that this had been discussed in our supervision session so why point this out NOW - just to try and name and shame me I think (this just makes me erupt like a volcano not go all humble I am afraid)! F. Witt  RETIRE NOW PLEASE - a month cannot go soon enough !!!!

    3. Seven eggs from eight hens .

    4. Made some quorn and pasta for tea . Can do a meat free Monday easily . However OH has meatballs made out of sausages that I have just skinned and rolled up (Yuk) ! Nice 300 year old basil stock cube from AF added to the sauce .He is spoilt.:D

    5. Early night with the Kindle .. oh the romance of it all !

    Have a good evening all

    Evening all

Mhagster ((hugs)) to you and your OH
CCP fingers crossed for the good result you deserve in your exam, but what a result on the room refund !!!

Feeling a bit brighter today, unlike the weather. Lots of local flooding. Did not venture out far as a non working day for me but needed to get food for the week so did a quick trip to Moreasons rather than @ldi, and really noticed how expensive things are, especially meat compared to @ldi.

    Anyway, my 5 for today

    1. Lie in
    2. Crumpets with real butter for breakfast
    3. Managed to stay on budget with shopping, just needed to be a bit more creative and buy less/cheaper meat
    4. Finally got round to making microwave banana flapjack.... was that recipe from you sparrer ? It is delish :D so many thanks !! And so easy to make even I managed not to burn it :o
    5. Morroccan lamb casserole for tea. RTC lamb, not a huge amount but chopped up small and packed out with veg, should be enough for me and DS tonight and leftovers for my lunch at work tomorrow
