Evening everyone. I've been MIA, I'm afraid but at least it's now half term so I can have a little rest!
Here are my 5 pleasures:
1 Met up with a friend today who I hadn't seen for 6 months. Lovely to catch up!
2 Sorted some books out to take for the book stall at my parents' church garden fete.
3 Written a letter to a great aunt who is 91. Found a lovely card to send her which she'll love.
4 Picked up a copy of the "Real Food" magazine from Tesco. Already clipped out the vouchers and have found a couple of recipes to try.
5 Came back on here and feel more motivated again! You're all lovely!

We found out who the mystery flower sender was!
My husband's Uncle (elderly!) who he has certainly never known as Grandpa!
It was so kind of the florist to solve our mystery!0 -
Well done on the Gee Gees Chicken
Bl00dy freezing here today - but ne'er mind, I is on holiday
1. Not quite "caravan sleep" But darned close
2. Mucking about with DS and DD while OH slept - this is why I like the caravan because we seem to be more of a family. Random game of "I spy" and just chatting. OH was snoring
3. Lovely bike ride on the Leek and Manifold railway - 16 miles and a climb up to Thor's cave. Lots of weightwatchers points earned which compensates, in part, for the
4. Yummy picnic - why does everything taste nicer outdoors (including the cake CCP:p)
5. Washing up with DS. It's not somehting he has to do often. Boy did he moan :rotfl: I only did "unusual things" - i.e. cadac grill pan and the coffee pots. He did plates, cups, cutlery etc. Complaining when a tiny spec of dust fell on his clean plates - now he knows how I feel.
It's going to be pi er persistently raining tomorrow. Kids are off to Alton Towers - but they are now old enough to go alone :T SO we are going walking via a rather nice country pub for lunch - it has it's own butchery and we've been there before so i know it is rather special.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
vjsmum we used to caravan in France and kids had to do dishes, DS (still does!) would huff and puff and make such a fuss.....and I would make him redo them if they weren't done properly .....so just do them properly first time!0
-
He was soooo funny. Huffing and puffing. He had done about 4 cups and 2 forks in about 10 minutes. Then moaning cos I had put mayonnaise on my plate - It's minging, apparently. And then I reminded him of all the ketchup he uses that I normally have to deal with!!I wanna be in the room where it happens0
-
Congratulations to us Chicken, it's only the third time in my life I've bet on a horse, and it won! We're in the money...!! (Well a couple of squids richer, anyway
)
VJsmum it sounds like you're having an amazing time, and I am so jealous! Mustn't be though, I've had some wonderful caravanning days
(((DundeeDoll))) hope you're feeling better
1. Tried to have a lie-in but wasn't allowed, much as I love muttley there are times I threaten to make him sleep in the garden. But I did get a lot done, thanks to being up at silly o'clock
2. Decorated the car with flags and 'wing mirror gloves', DNeighbours DD offered me some bunting but I think that might be a little bit ott, and illegal
3. Visited my DD who was doing a car boot to raise money for her football club's new away kit, she was so busy I didn't stay but was pleased to hear she sold almost everything
4. On to the gym for a session, it was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday, perhaps a lot of people are away in their caravans
5. Went into the garden centre on the way home with leaves from the plum tree. The problem was identified almost immediately and I left armed with boxes of medicine for the tree. Fortunately not life threatening and it should make a good recovery
6. Just made two batches of fairy cakes for Monday, DGD2 is visiting tomorrow so will leave the decorating for her
7. Had a terrible problem with the television this afternoon, quite worryingly the horses at the Derby had blue legs (and so did Clare Balding ), all the tennis players were playing on a blue court, on other channels I had a bear advertising blue rice, a woman tossing her blue hair around, soldiers wading through a blue muddy stream...asked on the techie board and thank goodness someone had the solution :j. It was such a simple thing to resolve, I can't believe why I didn't think of it!
Nuff for tonight, sweet dreams0 -
Chorning Muckers.
