Chicken: Ah yes I remember that one, but the one we are off to is a particular favourite of my DH, it’s further the other way up north.
Kittikins:- Hope you have a fantastic break away.
1.Popped to Mr T for the Andrex 10p voucher deal.
2.Remembered to take out breakdown cover before we head away – phew and hurrah for green flag.
3.10p yum yums, utterly bad and delicious.
4.The caravan is all packed up we are ready to rock n roll 1st thing tomorrow he he..
5. Remembered to do the price comparison further to our Asda shop and got the £5 voucher and another voucher for 98p.
6. Remembered to declare my old car as sorn, a pleasure to avoid their fine!
7. I went to a disastrous interview today, it will be a pleasure to put it behind me, DH say's it's meant to be, and I beleive it I just sometimes wish someone would tell me that before going:rotfl:0 -
Evening All
5 for today
1. Went on train with my marking. Got through a lot of it.
2. Walk to and from station - good exercise
3. Put in the order for the new conservatory roof. Not really a pleasure as it's so expensive, but we do need it. So at least ball is rolling
4. DD's cupcakes made her £17 in sponsor money after I'd taken them into work and asked for donations. She is very pleased
5. It is half term!!! We too are away in the caravan. But ours isn't anywhere near packed. That is my job for tomorrow - to get us ready to go. Luckily we aren't going far - we are going to the peak district. Looking forward to a relaxing time.
S'laters!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
5 or so for today.
1) Waking up with OH. (Seems ages ago now!)
2) Boys off to school quite happily.
3) Popped down to mum and dad's.
4) Suddenly phoned for school meeting with the SENCo. She had had a report from the nice Learning Support Team which states in some detail all the problems smaller son has with writing - poor fine motor skills, tranposing/reversing letters, poor letter formation, no punctuation, illegible handwriting etc. And that he is both right and left handed.
I have been mentioning most of these points since reception and ALL of them since year 2. He is now year 4. As of TODAY, he is finally on the dyslexia pathway! Looking at that lot, it's not rocket science, is it?!
5) Picked smaller son up at lunchtime and he had had another really good morning! I wish he could stay with the year 3 teacher til the end of the year...
6) Texts from OH. :-)
7) Went into town after school and got sons some new school bags as theirs were falling apart at the seams. Also got a flea comb for Barry cat.
8) Made a "takeaway" for tea. Chow mein and prawn crackers.
9) Been playing football outside.
10) Quiet evening planned. We were all late going to bed last night after our BBQ and paddle in the river then a game of pool in the pub nearby. So it'll be bath and early night then I'm going to catch up on Holby and Just a Minute in bed. No OH until I go on holiday with him and his sons on Sunday.
11) Nearly forgot, smaller son and I did some car repairs! Only in a small way, but we finally got the ipod to work through the car cassette player. Then we changed the brake light which was fiddly.
Good to hear about people getting caravans ready. OH is as we speak at his mother's picking up his...0 -
Frith could he be dyslexic? My DH is and had awful problems at school. My DS1 is borderline and was always in trouble at school .0

UPDATE!!!
Much excitement here. :j
Neighbour's lady cat has been getting very fat recently. She spends as much time in our house as next door.
Went upstairs to tidy the boys' room up and run them a bath and very sadly found one kitten dead on smaller son's quilt.
Then heard mewing and purring and lady cat and 3 kittens were under the bunkbeds.:T
Smaller son had to slide under the bunkbed and get the kittens out for me and they are all now in my starting sticks wicker basket on smaller son's baby blanket.
Both sons technically in bed but actually leaning over the sides, mesmerised by kittens. Smaller son glad he is now not the only person/animal to have been born in this house!0 -
Evening all,
Congrats on becoming a "grandmother" Frith!
1) Had my hair cut so it is less mop like
2) Popped into Em&Es Outlet store at lunch time and picked up two nice tops for a fiver each.
3) Payday (hence 1 and 2)
4) Went into our London office this evening for a Quiz night. We can 3rd out of 9 and were probably the only team not to cheat.
5) The chef made the most gorgeous HM pizzas for us. I had 5 slices!
6) Went to the pub afterward and got chatting to one of the divisional comms guys who has agreed to allow me to have the photo of me that is currently on their website replaced by a new one! Cos its shockingly bad!
Night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Chicken thanks for the comments about Barcelona, sounds like an easy place to get around and I can certainly waste an hour or four in a shopping mall between sightseeing trips
1. Terrible drive down to DM, journey took 2 3/4 hours . Two massive holdups on the worlds biggest car park, other than that it was only just moving. Much better on a Sunday even if I do have to compete with the cloth cap brigade, but it's her birthday so a special trip today.
2. Took DM shopping in her local Mr T - can't believe how expensive they are. Yesterday in @ldi mozzarella was around 45p, in Mr T the same size pack is £1.40. What a rip off, no wonder I refuse to shop there
3. Met up with DB, DSiL, DN and beautiful DGN who has just had her first birthday.
4. We all went to a Toby for lunch, I stuffed myself on beef and pork and a toffee shortcake cheesecake. Different and very, very yummmmmm. DB and I split the bill but when I got home I found my money had been put back in my bag. Naughty DB
5. Back to DB/DSiL's house for a cuppa, she had made a beautiful cake for DM with icing sugar butterflies, which DM loves.
6. Good drive home, didn't use anything like as much petrol coming back
7. DNeighbour's DD had been in to let the pets out, she is a good girl
Sweet dreams0 -
Frith - glad you managed to get the diagnosis for dyslexia for your DS. We had similar problems with DD and I went private for testing in the end. The assessor said it was one of the most severe cases she had seen and couldn't believe the school hadn't done anything. When I took the report in the head said "we don't just take anyones word for it we will have to do our own assessment" I could cheerfully have done damage to the lady:o but she now has a fantastic SENCO and leaves school today having sat her GCSE's. While we don't expect fantastic results she has come on so far and more importantly knows what she wants to do as a career (child care) and she knows she is good at it. She also now knows she is not stupid which she had been told so many times in the past. What I am trying to say in my rambling way is it will get better from here now you know and your DS knows why he struggles with some things.0

Well its only 9.45 and already I have had a huge hug from my youngest DGS Mikey as its his birthday today and he is a very excited eight year old. Then another hug from his brother as I had made a huge pile of sarnies for the schools Jubilee party this afternoon. Then when I got to their primary school to drop them off just seeing all the little boys and girls dressed in red, white and blue and being so happy that the sun is shining and the kids can use the school field for their party this afternoon. Not yet 10.00.a.m. and I've got three things already I am just off to see my other grandson and hopefully we will be able to dismantle Mikey's broken swing so his brother Ben can help his Dad tonight to put up Mikey's present, his Trampoline, and this afternoon I have my favourite afternoon of the week my History club that i go to which will be Jubilee based history today and our teacher is doing all sorts of things for us to eat, drink and look at0
