Morning all, am feeling more positiive this morning. Have been awake since 6.30am got up and had a cup of tea, half an hours ironing and cleaned bathroom.
Have read that swelling in face and feet could just be heat/too much salt/not enough water, so am going to get most of jobs done early today as its gonna be scorchio again later, and drink more water. Could however be my diabetes so am gonna check with doc also.
Off to Lid1 a bit later and may have a wander round local car boot. Then relax this afternoon in shade with a book I think

5. Only just shut the back door. Two weeks ago I had the heating on for a couple of hours in the evenings, now I'm sitting here in my summer jimmies after a tepid shower. I love sunshine

Morning all - welcome Uncle Bryn
Up early - and none too happy about it. How can you be awake and still shattered?
Any road up - 5 for yesterday
1. Did 5 hours marking - had to go see dad so spent all day on trains but at least I did my marking for all of it so at least I made best use of the time.
2. Dad was up, dressed and sat in a chair. Saw him walk for the first time since the 30th December! (he has been walking for a while - but I hadn't seen him!) (I think I could have done without hearing about his experiences on the commode though)
3. Had half an hour to kill before visiting so sat in a warm and sunny courtyard with the most vile cup of tea I have ever had. But the warmth was just sublime and could feel it warming my bones.
4. Delicious barbecued salmon salad for lunch - using mostly left overs from Friday.
5. DS football presentation when I got back. Not really a pleasure but he wanted to go and it is nice that a bunch of 13 year old boys have nice things said about them, when so many others get bad press.
Enjoy this glorious sunshine folks - and remember there is no such thing as "too hot".I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Weekend is nearly over and almost bedtime for a tired mhagster!
1.slept to a reasonable time and got up and pottered about, now have a much cleaner house.
2.we all went out for lunch which was nice but a tight squeeze getting the 5 of us in my wee car!
3. Bought a tumble drier and getting a decent discount on it. Not had one in 6 years but struggling to get stuff dry now the sun has gone to the UK, we don't have radiators but floor vented heating that keeps clicking on and off when it reaches thermostat temperature . It will be used sparingly!
4. Peace and quiet to read my book.
5. Downtown abbey night0 -
Welcome Uncle Bryn! Rob Brydon being one of my favourite actor comedians, with me being from S.Wales, I love your name.
Chicken thanks for your lovely comment about Rummy, he is just the bee's knees, isn't he? Heather (owner) posted a lovely pic. on FB of him coming off the jumps lane and all his body language was "Aren't I clever? What about me, then? Go me!"
PK thanks for congrats.
I'm sat typing this in my upstairs office with the window wide open. It overlooks a beautiful park - the trees are now all in leaf with so many shades of green and russet, some with the last vestiges of blossom. Parents trotting in with tinies in pushchairs which is heartening to see, much better than spending Sunday morning in T*sco.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Mornin' all
Thanks for all welcoming words, you've always seemed a nice friendly bunch, hence me finally coming out of the pantry (or given my washing fetish at the mo', maybe that should be laundry room):j
I've already got 5 and it's not even 12:00pm -
another linefull of washing including dressing gown and slippers
Blue skies and sunshine yet again
The smell of the lilac and mock orange in the jungle end of the garden
Cerys Matthews on Radio 6 (such a random selection of "stuff")
OH has promised to bath dog
Happy Sunday all0 -

Several pleasures for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday
1) Went to OH's house with my sons (his stayed with their mother this weekend).
2) Sons very good, played outside then settled down quickly.
Saturday
1) Went to OH's son's birthday do - karting! Sons enjoyed that very much and want to do it again when its their birthdays.
2) in the afternoon sons and I went to the market in the city centre. Got loads of fruit and veg and some dates plus nuts.
3) Back home for a tidy up.
4) OH came round here. :-)
5) Watched Eurovision.
6) Next door's (not THAT one) had a massive party with very loud music but we fell asleep with no problems.
Today so far
1) Lie in.
2) Cooked breakfast.
3) Washing out on the line.
4) Spent the afternoon with sons and OH in the river. I never know if other people with think we're odd, with the boys running into the river in their pants and doing a bit of swimming. But OH dashed in with his shorts on and sat down!
5) OH gone now but waiting for my school friend to come round for tea. Just got to put the rivery clothes in the washing machine and wash my feet which are sandy.0
