    1. planted out the hardy fuschia in pots and in the garden. looking forward to seeing them in full bloom in a couple of months time.
    2. laughed at the neighbours daughter and her friends gigging away on a glass of vino each and sausages on the bbq.
    3. had a day with DH pottering which has been great.
    4. got a half shoulder of lamb on the bbq for dinner with new spuds and salad and asparagas.
    5. slept in a freshly laundered bed last night, I washed, dried and remade it in the same day, perfect!

well time for me to push off, get a shower and finish cooking the lamb and spuds and enjoy! hope everyones had a great weekend....

    3 Is something cooking?

2 Had a double bounce out doing tea. lobbed pan into sink from stove, complete with collander, and they hit the sink and bounced straight out. Woke the cat up anyway.

Hmmm didn’t achieve what we set out to ah well, but we did get up today as we were too too hot.

    1. Went to an afternoon boot fair, picked up 2 pet beds and 3kg bird food for £3, and some shelving for DH’s garage now it’s clearing for £5, and a long hippy skirt for 50p.

    2. Got caught out and forgot to take drink etc with us so fell off the mse wagon in KFC – big big ops.:o:o

    3. Just relaxing with a big cuppa, inside with the aircon unit.

    4. Something in the caravan has broken, to my disgust it was £180 to buy new, so I just bought a 2nd hand one from E”bay for £15, and have that silly bidding high, topped off by it’s only 3 miles away to pick up result.

    5. It’s a summer evening

    Good evening all!

Welcome - unclebryan and smoosh x

    Mcculloch-
balanced little jumper isn't he and sensible too. I would like to have been the pilot schooling him .Did you see Gabrial win on Ch 4 yesterday? - now that's a horse that has a lot of speed but hangs and pulls like a train .

Millie - Loved the "crowman" story . I want to adopt your Dad.

VJsmum- glad to hear that your Dad is err "moving";) .

skint - I hope you feel better soon .

MIA yesterday as I fell asleep !

    Saturday's 5

    1. Banked some change .

    2. Got my colleague who is leaving our team at the end of the week and M&S voucher (millie !), so that she can buy what she likes rather than contributing a few quid to a "team gift" which she might not like anyway .

3.Read my Kindle in the sun

4 Fell asleep in the afternoon .

    5.Steak for tea.

    Today's 5

    1. OH let the hens out at 5am before they started shouting. The youngsters are in with them at night , but I can't cope with the punch ups in the run in the early morning, so they are separated until they all go out later in the day.

    2. My strawberries are going red - I have never grown strawberries before so I am excited .But will probably get a mouth full of maggot !

    3. Started a new book downshifting book on the Kindle and fell sleep again twice !!

4.Two broody pain in the bum hens - squeaking, hissing and spitting at all and sundry. My Mum will have fun with them this week when I am at work. Mercurial Muriel adopts a silly walk when she starts to get broody, all low, stalky and purposeful .

5.OH took the temporary fence down in the garden and it looks huge . I love my garden , I am much happier outside whatever the weather !

Have a good evening all !

    Evening all.

Welcome unclebryn - I hope you now have a nice, clean-smelling dog to go with your nice, clean-smelling home. :)

    And welcome Smoosh!

CCP my DS is a Pomey supporter so know just what you mean about the Southampton rivalry. There's a house with my family name in Southsea which was given to Pompey by one of my forefathers for the youth hostel for the team, although I believe it's now a children's home. And it's the route to the IoW so I definitely like it :D

My DM sent me a link to this, which you and any other Island-lovers might enjoy - perfect music for the weather. :)

Enjoy this glorious sunshine folks - and remember there is no such thing as "too hot".

I'm with you on that one - I think I used to be a salamander in a previous life as I love hot weather. :)
2 Had a double bounce out doing tea. lobbed pan into sink from stove, complete with collander, and they hit the sink and bounced straight out. Woke the cat up anyway.

I've done something similar before and had the bouncing pan land on the cat - he was Not Amused.

    My lots for today:

    1) Very long lie-in this morning. Very, very long lie-in this morning. :o
    2) NSD and NPD.
    3) Chatting to my DM on the phone - always a pleasure anyway, but she was able to advise me about some concerns I have with my OU tutor. (Not concerns about him as a tutor - he's excellent - but about something he shared with the tutorial group yesterday which makes me a bit worried about him personally. I'm going to send him an email and just hope he takes it as the genuine concern that it is and not a criticism of his personal beliefs. :undecided)
    4) Made the arrangements for my DM and DF to come over later in the week - I've found a new Indian restaurant for the evening which looks perfect as it does the classic dishes my DF likes, more unusual dishes for me, and some snacky-type stuff for my DM who doesn't eat much.
    5) Did a check on the receipt for the A$da shop I did yesterday and got a voucher under their price guarantee - it's only 42p, but every little helps. (Err.. is that a different supermarket? ;))
    6) Spent a couple of hours working in the garden in the sunshine, although I could have done without the company of the mozzie which had a late lunch of my arm. :(
    7) Jumping in the shower afterwards - is there anything nicer when you're all hot and sweaty?
    8) Cooked a bacon joint for tea, which has come out so nicely that I've had to wrap it up and put it in the fridge to stop me nibbling it all away before dinner. :o
    9) I've cooked up some RTC rhubarb with some brown sugar and whisky: when it's cool it will be folded into natural yoghurt with some crumbled meringue, to make a sort of cross between cranachan / Eton mess / rhubarb fool.
    10) Sipping an ice cold glass of apple wobbleade while typing this.
    11) No work tomorrow, as I've got a day off to compensate for all the time I wasted on the train to Birmingham earlier in the month. I'm going to pootle into Chichester and try not to go too mad in L&kel&nd - I've got a voucher, but I must remember that it's only for £3. :o

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Everyone seems to be having a lovely time enjoying the sunshine (sorry, Mhagster - but this is our revenge :D)

Ooh CCP, I love Chichester. Used to spend many a summer down there staying with my uncle and aunt. They lived in Birdham, we used to go to East and West Wittering and Bracklesham Bay. Always sunny - happy days!!

    So for today

    1. Up early - not so great, but at least I could enjoy an hours peace to myself and watched the voice from last night
    2. Have made my raised bed with the help of OH. I am going to finish filling it tomorrow and then plant it
    3. Went out for an hour or two with OH. Had a drink at the garden centre and went to buy stuff for my raised bed.
    4. Got the caravan out of its compound ready for next weekend.
    5. Sitting for half an hour in the sun, doing nothing. I can feel it charging my (solar) batteries. Long may it last.

    Have a good evening everyone.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening

Millie - Sorry to hear you have had such a horrible couple of months but lovely to see you posting again

Pleasures for the last couple of days,
    1. Got DD's prom shoes and they had 20% off so came in at a reasonable price.
    2. Took DD to my favourite noodle bar where we had wraps and dumplings. She loved the decor which is very elective (sp).
    3. Lovely sunshine for the last couple of days with a slight breeze to make it perfect
    4. Ice-cream from the ice-cream van, you can't beat it
    5. Couple of RTC bargains in Mr.T and a £5 for next week
    6. Very yummy dinner of chinese chicken wrap and savoury rice
    7. Smell of Bread from the bread maker
    8. The sky out of our back window. It's all pinks and mauve, beautiful

Hugs to all who need them

    Evening all,

    1) SUNSHINE!!!! I love it so much. I am very pale and freckly so can't sit out in it but just love being warm

    2) Went for a walk in Ashridge Forest with a new Meet Up group. Its so pretty around Herts/Bucks borders.

    3) NSD. It would have been so easy to spend money today but I was restrained

    4) Packed up some stuff and put it into the loft ready for the move.

    5) I have offered my spare TV's to someone of Freegle. I hope they come to collect them cos I am fed up with having them cluttering my flat.

    Night night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Welcome Smoosh

sonny hope all goes well on tuesday

Frith sounds like you have had a lovely weekend

    1. Front "porch" howls everytime we get easterly wind think hav worked out where loud whistling noise coming from and neighbour kindly told me there is an offer on clear silicone sealant in Lid1. Popped down there at 10am and they had some left, and the queue was small

    2. Same neighbour let me his sealant "gun" so didnt have to buy one

    3. DS (16yo) got up ladder so I didnt have to, and put sealant between back of perspex roof & wood batten behind, blocking gap where wind seems to vibrate... Good for him to learn some DIY and some humility, as he refused to let me hold ladder and then promptly fell off.....thankfully not very far and he wasnt hurt... but he let me hold ladder for rest of time ;)

    4. Drank lots more water today, and sprayed feet and face periodically with a water bottle spray that I normally use when Im ironing. Face didnt swell up at all today and ankles are only a little swollen.

    5. Old friend from home (up norf) phoned and we had a lovely long chat, have known her since school and we still meet up when I go back to see family, and she comes to stay for holidays

No work tomorrow :j am hoping for a lie in :D
