No  - that's impossible. Campus catering is never decent - I only just recognise some of ours as sandwiches without even attempting to work out what's in them
Sparrer - the school want her to get the A*, but external examiners might down grade it. I wish the school hadn't told her cos she can either only be disappointed or not surprised! My mum used to have loads of daft sayings, but our local radio reckoned "black over Bill's mother's" was a midlands saying - the Bill in question being Shakespeare.
I really must get up..I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
hello, have been reading but too tired to post!
Last couple of days:
Hospital today & positive news.
Cancer Centre yesterday , so Radiotherapy & Chemotherapy lined up.
Had a bit of a day off today but went in very early to set up, was home by 6.30am to go to hospital, then popped in for an hour this afternoon.
DD1 is on work placement this week....she got totally lost yesterday but luckily her dad was on way home from cancer centre & waited at train station for her.....big hugs! I never heard my phone ring and only got distraught voicemails...each one worse than the one before
Seeing parrots on way to & from work, then seeing 8 magpies on a fence all chatting to each other. Amazing amount of autumn leaves.
DS went for fish & chips for tea.
OH now allowed soft food, so made him custard & then leek & potato soup, he needs building up so need to fling cream & olive oil into everything.
Just really living day to day at the moment! Work is busy and keeps me a bit sane with it's madness! I do enjoy reading all your pleasures and go ladyhawk well done on your latest purchase!!0 -

1. NSD
2. Woke up with OH (and DD who came bouncing in and climbed in on my side for cuddles)
3. DD and I were the beneficiaries of OH emptying his pockets of change, no idea why he did it, but hey, I wasn't going to turn down £4, kind of a reverbe!
4. Plumber came over to kind of formally quote for the bathroom work and I'm as happy as a poor girl can be with the cost and liked the fact he suggested different ways to keep the cost down.
5. Made yummy, quick dinner which DD told me was the best ever, bless her!0 -
Evening all.
Ladyhawk - many congrats on your new house - how exciting! :jNo  - that's impossible. Campus catering is never decent - I only just recognise some of ours as sandwiches without even attempting to work out what's in them
Ours isn't that bad (admittedly for a given value of 'not bad') - the sandwiches are usually inedibly stale but the snacky bits are really good - I'm still eating my way through some of the bits left over from the last event I organised. :money:
For yesterday:
1) Paid in the contents of my puddy bank which I counted out last week - that covers the cost of my rather expensive amber bracelet treat.
2) LO sausage lasagne for lunch - sausage ragu works surprisingly well.
3) Fish finger sarnie for tea before going out. With ketchup, of course.
4) Friends letting me have the seat by the fire in the pub. :A (Although it's a bit sad that the pub still needs an open fire in the middle of May.)
5) Lots of fuss with a ginger-point exotic shorthair cat (like a short-furred Persian) on the way home - I only realised when I got home that all the furry-purryness had turned my black trousers white with fur from the knee down.
For today:
1) HM seed bread with sunshine-yellow honey for breakfast.
2) Booked a day off on Friday so I can wait in for my nice new greenhouse to be delivered.
3) Used part of the value of the gift card I got in compensation for my damaged plants to buy a new blackcurrant bush (there were four on the shelf - 3 which looked rather sorry for themselves and were marked at £5 each, and 1 which looked healthy and cost £4 - guess which one I bought?:money:) and a cotoneaster reduced from £3 to 70p, which I hope will like the raised bed at the front of my flat where nothing else will grow.
4) Made jambalaya for dinner - I haven't made one in ages and had forgotten how good it is - I confess I went back for an extra couple of spoonfuls. There's still enough left to freeze for another day, though.
5) Not OS at all, but I turned the heating on this evening, at the lowest possible setting - I'm just fed up with being cold.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Hi all, my 5 for today
1. Feeling almost normal again, such a relief
2. Took extended lunch and went round the 2 floors of our office with DS sponsorship "blackout" - 50 football teams, £1 per team, once all sold uncover the winning team at the bottom of the card, I decided to give £20 to the winner and remaining £30 will go to schools in SAfrica that DS is going to work/volunteer in - people were so generous ...probably because there was a chance of winning £20 !!! but I almost filled the card within 20 minutes.
3. Lift home from work again, saving £4 on taxi fare
4. Day off tomorrow so can relax this evening
5. HM chilli burgers for tea. Have made meatballs for DS tea tomorrow and cooked them at same time, so just need to make a sauce and cook pasta, then he can re-heat tomorrow eve as I'm off out for dinner and looking forward to it
