-
Hello, wow so many pages to catch up on..
We had a fantastic time, seriously relaxed and even a hint of "less pale"! Just off to pick up the moggies0 -
Good evening all!
PK and LadySarahBeeneyHawk welcome back xx
mhagster - how intriguing re the flowers ?? sorry to hear about the car
Kittikins - sorry I know nothing about Toadstools - "special" mushrooms maybe
6 for today
1. Day off and feeling really contented about having some ME time.
2.Banked £27 of change £10 of which is my "50p for my brothers 50th "birthday fund next year - so far £190 by just squirrelling away 50ps since 2010. The other £17 will go towards OH's diving equipment fund.
3.Got soaked walking back to my car (as did my two loads of washing on the line )- but enjoyed it , as I limp and can't move quickly out of the rain like most people who don't have umbrellas or coats . Plus I looked like a soggy labrador and I didn't give a hoot as I have no one to see and the rain was nice and warm.
4. Soggy washing also dried :T
5.Lots of bargains in Mr. T -OH has a sort of bolognaise simmering in the slow cooker for when he gets home with rtc lean mince and rtc tomatoes.
6 Watching a very stylish jockey young (W.Buick) on Ch 4 win on a horse called Laugh out Loud . Reminds me of an American Jockey called Cash Asmussen who rode with just his toe in the irons and rode really low in the saddle. ..skint and mcculloch you may remember him ?? Woo hoo!! Frankel the wonder colt runs tomorrow ..
Have a good weekend all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Yes, Chicken, I definitely remember Cash Asmussen, and agree that young William is very stylish. Holding my breath for Frankel and as much for Sir Henry, the epitome of charm and style.
Have yet to read back through everybody's pleasures, but that is always one of mine.
Not very OS but I am being sent a lovely new cordless phone with iPhone charger to review through Amazon Vine - for free, I haven't had anything as expensive as this for a while. I get to keep it.
Got a lovely pair of red Crocs for just £15 from Amazon, with discount.
Have enjoyable books to read, yummy nibbles in the cupboard, lots to feel grateful for.
Angrove Rumbaba is down to run at Sedgefield on Wednesday evening. I have a feeling that I won't be able to go, but I hope I will.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Good Evening!
1. the plants are at last growing
2.walkies again for horses they are coming along nicely
3 a couple of hours snuggled in caravan with a good book and fantastic view from the window
4.saw some lovely birds bullfinch and yellow hammers and gold finch
5. lovely HM soup with salad for dinner.0 -
5 or so for today (Friday)
1) Meeting the Learning Support Team lady this morning. Sadly, smaller son refused to cooperate with her so I don't know how's she going to assess him.
2) Picked smaller son up at lunchtime. He was fine this afternoon until it was time to get bigger son from school. Then he was very silly when his classmates came out...
3) Spoke to my mum and sister on the phone.
4) Made brocolli cheese for tea.
5) Small pleasure - got an ipod for Christmas and have barely used it as smaller son watches Top Gear on it all the time! Anyway, decided to use it, with earphones whilst doing the washing up just now. I haven't actually used earphones since I had my walkman at Uni and had forgotten how nice it is to block everything else out!
6) Texts from OH and will be going to his house tomorrow. :-)
7) Spoke to the lady who works in the village shop. Her sister has been going out with my ex husband. Shop lady had asked me a few questions (e.g is he really as bad as my sister makes out?) Anyway, she said "He has been getting insanely jealous, questioning her for ages and accusing her of having hundreds of affairs". Sounds very, very familiar. Anyway, she has left him now, so that's good!
Ooo, Led Zep just come on the ipod! I ran Robert Plant over a few years ago. (Honestly - he lives about 10 miles away!) I was only going slowly (looking for a parking space) and he stepped out in front of my car and fell over onto the bonnet.0 -
1. NSD, phew!
2. Popped over to a friend's for a girly chat and ended up staying for yummy lunch
3. Whilst it has been a NSD, I have spent from the renovation budget for the bathroom and have a bid on a fab shower on eb*y
4. Very quiet work day
5. Realised when buying stuff online that I had £16 credit on p*yp*l so things were cheaper, yay!
Feeling grotty with a cold again, going to finish catching up on here, then slope off to bed, night all x0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. NSD
2. Emptied my savings tin as had been putting money away for DD prom fund, it had £248 in so very pleased with that:money:
3. Easy dinner of a RTC pie with potatoes and baked beans
4. Approved Food order delivered so some nice treats in the house, had a sneaky bar of chocolate earlier.
5. DD had a much better day at school today. There had been some bullying at school again yesterday (which was my friends son ) but no repeat today so hope it stays that way.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Welcome back PK
Ladyhawk that's a coincidence, I bought blueberries for the first time yesterday. They were a bit sharp but I froze them overnight then thawed a few to see how well they froze, and they're much nicer. I might try muffins, but really bought them for a red, white and blue Eton mess.
beachbaby/ampersand where are you?
1. nsd/npd
2. Had a fry-up as it's Fryday
3. The contractor repaired some rotting wood at the bottom of the wood-clad porch, and has made such a good job of it you wouldn't have known it was a repair.
4. Potted on the busy lizzie plugs that arrived yesterday, and planted a patio rose at the front of the house. Yellow, of course
5. Stripped a chicken carcass, made some yummy stock for future use
Two odd things -
I got everything ready to make the flapjacks but the recipe read 3 oz of golden syrup. However do your measure golden syrup by the ounce?!
I went to dust/vac the guest room which I do once a fortnight. Right in the middle of the bed was one of my inhalers that went missing from my bag last week. Not sure if I'm losing my marbles (and inhaler) or my permanent house guest has been playing her games again. She does some funny-peculiar things
Sweet dreams0 -
