Morning all - really must get up but a quick 5 from yesterday

    1. Getting hooked on a facebook "reminiscing" page
    2. Cleaning the kitchen whilst listening to a Harry Potter book on CD. As there are loads of hours of Harry Potter books my house should stay clean for some time.
3 A similar conversation in our house to the one in CHicken's but ours was about smoked salmon and pasta. But we did have HM rhubarb crumble after which was yummy and got lots of praise
4 OH took DS to his maths lesson so I could have a cuppa in peace
    5. No-one turned up to an exam that I would have had to mark.

    Have a good day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. DD got through 2 GCSE's without too much drama and the papers were printed on Green for her (helps with the Dyslexia) which we were told she wouldn't be able to have but after some complaining by us as we heard another student was getting it she was allowed.
    2. Coffee at lunch time with the girls, nice to get out of the office
    3. Managed to clear down some of the emails in my inbox, will have a go at getting more cleared today
    4. 2 lots of washing line dried, just need to iron it now
    5. Not OS but had a yummy chinese takeaway for dinner

Hugs to all who need them

OldTractor - didn't know about the Craven Arms salvage yard. That's nearer to me than Hereford.

    5 or so for yesterday.

    1) Bigger son said his maths SAT's paper went well.

    2) Smaller son came home for lunch OK.

    3) Popped into town after lunch for some bits for the curry we had for tea plus some black lead for the stove.

    4) Black leaded the stove!

    5) School meeting with the head, the teaching assistant and (creepy music) the Exclusions Officer. She had some good idea (all praise, no sanctions) and set smaller son up a Personal Support Plan. He has to do as adults ask 50% of the time and remember "King hands, kind feet". He is not an aggressive child but sort of rushes past people and knocks them over. Those are his targets for the next fortnight and school and here we have to monitor him 15 minutes at a time. Which I found last night to be pretty much unworkable after I thought we had played Lego nicely for about 15 minutes but in fact an hour had gone by! Then I didn't monitor him at all while I was cooking tea and he was watching TV... And he can only go to school in the mornings for the next fortnight...

So good ideas from the Exclusion Officer BUT.... what a patronising lady. We have to all eat dinner round a table (where does she think we eat our dinner?!) and have a bedtime routine. (I did tell her we have done baths, stories and talking about our days for the past 7 years...) Then she said, when I have him at home for the afternoon, he should not just "play on the street" but I should include him in what I'm doing. Oh, I'd never thought of that!!!! And we live 5 miles from the nearest street!

    6) OH came round. :-)

I do wonder where they find 'em, and who dreams up the ideas for 'training' them <shakes head in disbelief>

Have a good day, back with my 5 later

Morning all, babysitting for nephew with shingles again, he should be in school but his mother is too soft.
    1. NSD
    2. Takeaway secrets books on the way in the post, should save me oodles of money in the long run.
    3. I have rooted out old christmas magazines & books (sorry) planning hm gift baskets for close family & friends. I want to start getting a few ingredients each month rather than a mad expensice dash in November.
    4. Oldest child away this weekend, just me, oh & youngest, planning a nice night in for saturday night.
    5. Oh will be making lunch again today, wahoo.

Enjoy your day all, hugs to all that need one.

Frith - you have to laugh at the attitude of the Exclusion Officer but it sounds as though they are taking things with C a bit more seriously and sensibly now. You are a fabulous mummy to both your boys and I think you should move closer to the street so that he can play on it, after all we do have to make sacrifices for our children.........!!

Such as mine might be taking on a Brownies' group as well as my Rainbows as one of the Owls is leaving after half term, thus giving up more time to Guiding!!! I'm in two minds as I think it might be a bit 'active' for me, and they probably go camping which I'm not keen on, but on the other hand, DD has only just got into Brownies, loves it, as do the other girls, and it would be a shame if the whole pack was disbanded due to noone wanting to help out.

Lots of serious thinking and praying required I think before I commit..... I'm not sure I have the time, energy or occasionally health, to cope with another activity, but on the other hand, it's for the girls.......(and I did secretly anticipate that this might happen at some stage during Brownies, just not quite so soon!).

DD is desperate for me to do it, I'd have thought she'd have enough of seeing my ugly mug every day and at Rainbows and might want some free time, but no, she lurves her mumma and wants me to start learning and forgetting more songs and girls' names - they're all called Darling to me, far easier!
  • 1 Another day in for four hours. Slipped up tonigh finding this thread, bit crass that some people round about just do niot undestand that soem of us amongst you have limitations as such. I do not hark on about it, but me myself, i know I cannot go scrambling around again, BAH. But had to pop at another thread, so where is my wobbleade to calm my ...

2 Cricket is back. Brill girl, get my wobbleade dear.

3 Nice bag of seeties from my Girl tonigh, shall share them out later.

4 Mushroom Korma for tea, great with boiled rice. Sop simple to make and on the plate in 15 minutes.

5 Now all my sweeties has gone.

Frith. We had foster kid once who was a little livelly, and FOs knew best. We just laughed at their text book methods and got him some airfiox models and a kite. the kite went up like a balloon on walks, which helped him shill out, and when it was wet or indifferent, the models worked a treat. the first he made, though was a bit of a ... but he soon learnt, and he realised it was an achievement. A change like that, sometimes helps. Sorry to be nebby!

    Good evening all!

kittikins - Brownies ..........shudders. I went once and that was enough for me. Never been keen on sitting in a circle and being told what to do . Especially the second part of that statement. However before you all shout me , I am sure its changed (it surely has to have done??) since the mid 1970's ;)

VJsmum - blimey that was a large crumble , you have been eating it since the weekend :D

    6 for today

    1. A good day in the office

    2. Sent my audit report off , actions addressed straight away by the company - who sent back some nice feedback about the audit process and how I "made the staff feel at ease throughout this process". Which made me laugh as she had told them that if I found anything wrong I would shut the place down.

3.Saw my Aunt this afternoon at my Mums house - she is an eccentric character and I adore her.

    4. Stinky Pete - bonfire bloke who lives at the back of my house and often gets a mouthful from me ,lit a stinky bonfire this afternoon just as the heavens opened . Such a shame -ignorant b....Trouble is all the rest of the local oiks think its ok to do so now that they see that he does it so often. There is only so much shouting I can commit myself to each day;)

    5. Steak and chips for tea :)

    6. Day off tomorrow

    Have a good evening all!

    Evening all.

    1) HM seed bread and honey for breakfast again.

    2) Picked up another plant bargain - three aquilegia corms reduced to 98p. :money:

    3) Managed to get the last slice of the local sandwich shop's delicious HM Victoria sponge - at 80p for a ginourmous slice it's probably better value than making my own.

    4) Seeing mog after his evening drink from the tap, with water dripping down his face and off the end of his nose. As usual for cats, he wasn't impressed when I laughed! :rotfl:

    5) Hot dog for supper tonight, courtesy of the local pub - it's for charity, therefore it's good. (And it's actually pretty good value, at £2 for a good quality, butcher's sausage in a freshly-baked baguette.)

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
