What strange weather - there is some very thick rain about tonight.

    Congrats Ladyhawk

    1. Student didn't turn up for his exam - apparently said student is going for the record of applying for the highest number of claims for extenuating circumstances ever. We think he is on 26! In my 6 or 7 years of various studenting I had precisely none! But it was a 4.5 hour exam so i'm not sorry to have missed it.
    2. Had coffee with colleagues, one of them is going a bit doo lally again so we were trying to work out a strategy where management know that, although we aren't happy, we also aren't party to his !!!!!! stirring.
    3. Came home early - to do marking
    4. DD has been told that her drama teacher has marked her at an A*. There is a chance that the examiner may down grade it as that school has never had an A* in drama before (which seems a bit unfair). well, we shall see. It seems likely she will get at least an A.
    5. Made rhubarb crumble. I've eaten too much :o
    6. The new bed I ordered for dad has arrived. We are hoping he will be home at the end of the week.
    7. Am planning our America trip tonight. Well starting to. We aren't going till July and kids and I have to do a week without OH as he didn't realise he couldn't have 3 weeks off till after he'd booked it.
    8. COlleague seems optimistic that I may be able to go to the Montreal conference in June after all - and get a couple of additional days there afterwards.
    9. DS maths tutor is going to give DD some physics tuition as her own teacher is pants and she has pretty much taught herself, but he is going to revise some stuff with her.

Goodness me but it's black over bill's mother's - some more weather is on its way.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

You need a cat now. Mine is free to a good home:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

Thanks... but I've had enough of cats!! I am really enjoying being fur free at last after 5 years of feline companionship!

    Evening

Ladyhawk - Congratulations, how exciting for you

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Woke up this morning and legs no longer ached plus blisters seem to be healing :j
    2. NSD
    3. Chilli wraps for dinner, yummy
    4. Free posh mascara for DD in Debenhams and got some details for her to have her make-up done for prom. This is the same prom that she was positive she did not want to go to until yesterday when a change of heart came about:p
    5. Managed to time my work home from work between the rain showers so didn't get wet.

Hugs to all who need them

    Good news, Ladyhawk.

5 or so for today (Tuesday)

    1) House clean and tidy.

    2) Back to mum and dad's to finish putting their oil range cooker on EBay. Something very odd happened while I was there... Many years ago, I thought about internet dating. (This was 2005 when my husband had not long gone). I signed up and emailed one chap then he suddenly stopped emailing. My heart wasn't in meeting anyone so that was that. I didn't meet him but saw his photos and knew his name...

So I was in the kitchen at mum and dad's house (in the middle of nowhere) and dad was talking about the complications of having a new (wood fired) range and getting a new cylinder then the man who is fitting the new system walked through the door. And it was he!!!!!!!! He looked at me, then looked stunned, then looked again, then went back to talking to my dad but in a slightly louder, shocked voice! I didn't say anything and he had brought the wrong water cylinder with him so had to go anyway. :rotfl:

    3) Went to Hereford to have some lunch and have a sit in the cathedral.

    4) Went to the big salvage yard outside Hereford (Rotherwas) and pondered over getting some really unusual tiles for the tiny window sill at the bottom of the stairs window when it gets its new windowframe. My cottage went through some shoddy "updating" in the early 80's and barely anything Victorian is left inside. (apart from the beams dowstairs). Might be better than the 1980's piece of wooden plank that forms the sill at the moment, which I catch my backside on as I come down the stairs!

    5) School phoned. Usual feeling of doom as I answered the phone. But no, they have someone else again booked in for Friday to talk about smaller son, from the Behaviour Support Team. So he was assessed this morning by a behavioural specialist, big meeting for me tomorrow, smaller meeting on Friday.

    6) Went to Ludlow as it is on the way home from Hereford (sort of). Did the 2nd hand shops there and got an M and S t shirt.

    7) Texts from OH. :)

    8) Ooo yes, got 100 grams of Hereford Hop cheese while I was out that way. It is my favourite food in the world hence getting just 100g as I have eaten it all already!

Tired now as smaller son has been playing up a bit this evening and it took me a good while (and I bashed my elbow) getting him up the stairs. His behaviour has been poor at school today (after 2 quite good days) so he will not be allowed to go in the pool during school swimming tomorrow. :(

FRITH - I can't believe you remembered that guy! How funny. I can't even remember the guys I have actually been on dates with... Which did cause a modicum of embarrassment when I bumped into him 18 months later... And he had to remind me that we had spend an entire afternoon together (having lunch!)

    Evening all :)

Ladyhawk :jthat's the best news :j, congratulations :T and hope all goes smoothly :D. Is it in the area my sister lives? I know you were looking in that direction
DundeeDoll you're on, and you can provide the music too ;). What do you play?
Frith re the man from the past, what a strange thing to happen. Sounds like the school is getting it together at last.
Tealady pleased your feet are healing. My friend is also getting over her sore feet, and her 'jet lag', even though she slept well after the walk
Sonny I know just what you mean, you know you're an animal lover if you think nothing of combing your hair with the pets comb :o
VJsmum rotten luck about your OH not getting all three weeks off :(. On the other hands it's excellent news re DD's A*, but what a strange school, you'd think they'd be proud to have an A* student. Even if she is downgraded though, you know she earned the *
Chicken/VJ's mum we had the hail and black sky here too, it was funny watching boy cat watching the hail ping against then away from the window, it's a wonder his head didn't fall off! My late step-dad used to say it was black over Bill's mother's, I thought it might be a Hampshire expression as that's where he came from.

    1. Took my boy cat to the pet parlour :o to have his claws trimmed. Stupid cat, he purred like a traction engine and thought the girl was the best thing since tinned sardines. Hopefully I won't get red spots on my light trousers/skirts when he paddles on my lap now

    2. Took lots of bits for DD's pub team's car boot, picked her up as she had some too, and we dropped them off at the pub. Lots more to go yet, but it's nice to see some space appearing

    3. A friend called in for a cuppa this afternoon, we had a little cake each and I was pleased to find they've not gone stale yet, which means I can make them the day before the canal trip rather than get up at silly o'clock on the day to start baking.

    4. Postie brought me a cd which I'll take on the canal with some others. Looking through that auction site for ideas I found lots of English folk/river songs etc., but decided against buying 'Music from Titanic' :rotfl:

    5. Phone call from another friend inviting me to her next art exhibition in June. Having seen some of her work I'm leaving my debit card at home!

    Sweet dreams :)

Sparrer accordion ceilidh style, though was having a go at Prokofiev last night.
Vjsmum congrats to your daughter. Seems a rum deal for a student not to be able to get top grade cos the school's never had on before!
:rotfl: i was just thinking vjsmum had a friend called bill :rotfl:
