Hello all back from my work away day
    1) wore my very smart white shirt with rainbow cufflinks and black waistcoat wot i purchased for £8 from a charity shop last week :money:
    2) got to present some of my bright ideas for building our dept to the room which included the director's boss and he took a keen interest :T
    3) he used to be my boss in a previous job (which our director was unaware of) so nice to see him again (and did i mention presenting some of my ideas? :rotfl:)
    4) stayed after with some of others for supper ok so not terribly :money: but nice
    5) taxi ride home, taxi driver was covering for a friend and is actually a stage hypnotist! (he is a legit licensed taxi driver, just doesnt do much now his stage act has taken off) for some reason i gave him a large tip... No seriously, was a really interesting ride home.

    Evening all,

Kittikins - well done on the reverbe... good skills!

Chicken - you do make me smile.

Skint - I know, I know... I'm a slovenly hussy and I disgust myself :o.... but staying in bed is sooooooo lovely.

Sparrer - how lovely that you were able to give your friends DM some companionship.

Frith - sorry to hear about MrFrith

    1) Took my DSIL to see the house, and she like it too... and I put an offer in this afternoon!:j And they are going to consider it tonight and then let me know in the morning... I am now kicking myself for now going in with a cheekier offer!!

    2) Got lots done before I headed into London this morning... dyed my hair, did some ironing and baked some scones.

    3) Had dinner with my DB and DSIL (they paid for a t/a curry) which was lovely. I think I rumbled them that she is pregnant with their second child. They didn't say it as such but my brother let slip that she wouldn't be drinking the champagne should my offer be accepted. I'll be delighted if she is though...

    4) The light was stunning as I drove back home at sunset - for some reason it really reminded me of home. It was also quite weird because the southbound carriage way of the M1 obviously was soaking wet from a down pour but the northbound were almost dry...

    5) Baking some really simple muffins to take to work tomorrow. One lot is cinnamon and the other is blueberry to use up some exceptionally sticky jam I made a while ago.

I have provided some... robust feedback to the Moonwalk people... now lets just see how they deal with it!!

    Night all

    L

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Frith sorry to hear about the OH. Smaller son isn't far off the old English term for asparagus which is sparrowgrass you no doubt know, living in the country. Clever boy :D
Skint everything crossed the treatment lasts well
Chicken I worked with older people for 30 years and never wanted to do anything else. If I recall part of your work is to do with elf and safety? The bane of our lives ;) - seriously, of course it's essential, and not something I could do. Love the mental image of your DM chasing wayward hens :D
DundeeDoll oh wow, rainbow cufflinks :D. How smart were you today!
Ladyhawk everything x'ed for the right answer. It has to be yes!

    1. Up at the crack of dawn to take one of DD's dogs to the vet but she phoned to say she (the dog) was much better, so DD's going to monitor her for a day or so. Gave me time to get the laundry draped over the radiators and lounge dusted before I went out
    2. Exercise class, thank you NHS. Sorry to be so repetitive but it is an OS pleasure :o
    3. Renewed library books on line which meant I didn't have to park in the High Street and be tempted to go into the cs, which is the only clothes shop we have. It's a very little town :)
    4. The Housing Assn contractors are doing outside repairs on the houses in the square, a very nice man tried to mend my rickety side gate and gave up (the HA has been several times and just 'patched it up') and is going to order me a new one :T
    5. Am making cakes as my contribution to our Jubilee canal day so thought I should start practising as they have to be gluten free, which I've not done before. So many recipes on line! So started with the one on the back of the bag of flour, and they turned out perfectly! DNeighbour and her DD gave them the thumbs up so I'm happy that I don't have to spend any more money trying different recipes :)

    Sleep tight :)

Haven't posted for a few days - my back was bad and when I wasn't working I took painkillers so probably wouldn't have made much sense!
Am much better now and will catch up on posts soon.

    1. Being in far less pain.

    2. Managing to work. including overtime, and a collegue very kindly swapping jobs for a day so I could work in less pain.

    3. DS1 came home as it was his birthday and we all had a laugh that the cake I made was a complete failure and inedible.

    4. Being sunny over the weekend.

    5. Neighbours fixing our gate temporairly- which they took off its hinges when putting up their fence

    Morning.

    Busy and interesting day yesterday.

    1) Up early to get bigger son to SAT's club. He liked the reading exam yesterday; he's got writing today. He had squash and lots of toast and jam in the club so was happy.

    2) Made a dentist's appointment for smaller son. When he was jumping up and down the other day (!) I noticed his filling has fallen out, and a bit of tooth with it. It's a baby tooth but can't be left like that.

    3) Changed my bed, tidied, did 2 loads of washing etc.

    4) Went to mum and dad's. They are selling their oil fired Aga (well, its a cheaper make than Aga) and want me to put it on Ebay for them.

    5) Went to pick smaller son up at lunchtime and there is some progress! On Friday, he was very good. Yesterday, he did no work at all but behaved well. (Which the head teacher says is at least an improvement). Anyway, she had been phoning round and happened upon a behavioural specialist who, by chance, is free today and in the area so will be assessing him this morning and over lunchtime! She has also booked him in to see the school nurse (to cover all bases, I think) and I have his big meeting tomorrow. This is to set up a Pastoral Support Plan which will hopefully stop him from being excluded. Slightly nervous...

    6) Went to Sainsburys so stocked up and organised now.

    7) Man came round to give me a 3rd quote for new windows. Have settled on Window Man number 2.

    8) OH came round and we had a game of football with sons.

Ah yes, OH. Sunday was the point when neither of us could put up with my ptsd anymore. The twitching and pacing around he could cope with but not the paranoia and every so often declaring I couldn't possibly manage to be in a relationship and perhaps he should go...

...so my most recent panic and saying "It can't possibly work between us" didn't go down very well. To cut several hours of negotiation short, one of my compromises was to refer myself back to a clinical psychologist. So lets hope stint number 3 with the mental health team does me some good.

Well done Frith, with OH supporting you and a good psychologist, I reckon you have a very strong chance of conquering the demons now. You've grown so much in strength and confidence and know that you are not the woman your ex made you feel like. Hugs and I'm so glad OH is back in your life x

Chicken thank you, both excellent suggestions especially the Mess-ing about on the River (well canal, but a little poetic licence) pud. Perhaps I should do a trial run beforehand, got to make sure it's perfect :D
