CCP - have a nice time in Birmingham. i work there but think it is underrated as a destination.

    Mhagster - oops

I am struggling for 5 today as I haven't actually done much. So for today

    1. Getting paid to surf the net for 2 hours while I invigilated an exam
    2. My last teaching session until September :j I like actually teaching but I do like the summer break from it.
    3. Game Pie for tea
    4. Dad made a cup of tea for himself in the hospital kitchen. To put it in context, I haven't seen him out of bed since December 30th so for me this seems like a miracle. He is on course to go home on Friday.
    5. My boy made me a cup of tea - the first he's ever made.

More invigilation tomorrow :( - I volunteered on the basis that if I choose one I don't mind, they won't give me a horrible evening one.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Ladyhawk, hope your friend will start posting on here one day :)

    1. NSD

    2. Received the lovely lampshades for the hallway that I ordered online the other day :) (must chase the electrician up as I've still not received the updated quote!)

    3. Got my library books back in time avoiding a big fine, phew

    4. Rode my bike on the driveway at lunchtime, have a very sore back and achy legs today after doing lots of bits at the weekend so didn't dare take it any further!

    5. Did a bit of geetar practice on my own whilst DD at school and impressed her with my rendition of "Five Little Speckled Frogs" :)

    6. Great time at Rainbows, love those little cuties

    7. Made wild garlic, walut and pecorino pesto, nomnom

    8. DD has gone to bed without creating a major fuss! Woohoo!! I wonder if she'll creep into my bed in the night though.....hopefully not, she starfished me out of my own king-sized bed last night!

    9. I was astounded at DD's mental arithmetic when we played yahtzee after dinner, she got sums faster than me at times!

DARN IT, need to take out Number 8 above - DD has come into the sitting room and is now curled up on the sofa watching the hoarding programme with me, looking exhausted but insisting that she's not tired......grrr!

    Evening

MHagster - Glad the visit was a sucess
Frith - That is really shocking that they expect you to take your DS home at lunchtime I think I would be speaking to the LEA.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Weekly food shopping in Mr.T and using quite a few vouchers
    2. Lunch at my favourite noodle bar with my friend C and was very cheap as used loyalty card to get a free wrap each.
    3. Boss has changed the monthly report at work and much prefer it as I can complete it in an hour rather than a week that the old one used to take.
    4. Chatting with my mum on the phone, she has discovered the kindle book store so I was sending lots of books to her Kindle for her and as her account is linked to mine it meant I got them as well.
    5. Some ironing done this morning but must make the effort to get more of it done as the pile is taking over the living room

Hugs to all who need them

Mhags I'm sure your FiL will understand how much running around you've had to do and forgive you
Frith the school is behaving very oddly
Kittikins I don't know if your library offers the service but at ours we can renew on line, which I've had to do one more than one occasion :o

    I. Mowed the lawn :j
    2. Cleared out the winter hanging baskets. Rather than waste the good soil I tipped it into the potato tubs to earth them up
    3. Planted the old strawberry tub with lots of lobelia in the cups and the top, using last years potato soil which I'd saved in a bin. Found three very healthy plants with potatoes at the end of them :rotfl:
    4. There's not a sign of a weed between the paving slabs on the patio after 6 weeks so the salt in boiling water solution seems to be successful, which can only be good for my purse and the environment
    5. Postie brought me some pretty butterfly-shaped, Union Jack rice paper cake toppers. Now I just have to practice making gluten free cupcakes :undecided
    6. She also brought me a Hooked On CD with British classics, which I'll take on the boat on Jubilee day (and probably play it so the whole of UK can hear it!)
    7. The sun shone all afternoon :D
    8. No heating on this evening
    9. Thanking my God, after watching GOSH, that my family doesn't have any life threatening/terminal illnesses

    Sweet dreams :)
