Glad to hear the trip home took place, MHags.

    5 for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons to school without too much fuss.

    3) Teaching assistant phoned to say they want me to take smaller son home every lunchtime as they can't deal with him. Just a shame its 15 mins drive away, we'll hardly get turned round before I have to take him back!

    4) Brother came round.

    5) Made 4 dinner's worth of curry sauce.

    6) Walked to mum and dad's. (3 miles or so).

    7) Did garden and the hanging basket by the front door.

    8) Off to a school meeting in a mo about bigger son's French trip.

    Good evening all!

    mhagster - (hugs))

VJsmum -:rotfl:gyrating and singing your head off with the broom - love it .

ladyhawk- what a nice thing to say , thank you x

    5 for today

    1. Woke up again at 1am until about 3.30am - as felt boiling hot ...must be an age thing ;). Good programmes seem to be on during this time of the morning .

    2. Took some excess packets of pea and tomato seeds in to work , and left them in the kitchen with a note on them saying "take me" . They went in a flash - they were freebies that I didn't need and someone else might like them .

3.Appraisal went well at work :)

4.Youngsters had put themselves in the nesting box at 4pm , for a little rest .

5.:rotfl::rotfl:my sister had forgotten to post my birthday card .

    Have a good evening all!

well so much for getting up when the alarm went off.....my father in law was due in at 2am, I set alarm ,meant to hit snooze, hit dismiss and promptly went back to sleep! So was woken with a call to say he was at back door!

My lovely SIL has sent all the things I'd asked for from home, that are so expensive over here...she's a star!

Right I need to try & get back to sleep it's 3.15am, night!

    Evening all.

    Chickenopolis - happy belated birthday!

mhags - I'm glad your DH was able to get home, at least for a while.

I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday - I went out for lunch with my DM and DSis and was so cross with my not-so-D sister for being rude to our DM that I wasn't in the mood for posting.

    But for today:

    1) Spoke to my DM and she hadn't even noticed DSis' rudeness, so it hadn't upset her.

    2) The shop which sold me the faulty greenhouse has finally agreed to pay compensation for the damaged plants - £20 cash (which will go to the charity I intended to sell the plants to raise money for) and £10 gift voucher (which will buy a few replacement plants for me). :T

    3) Sunshine. I almost didn't recognise it after all this time.

    4) I'm off to Birmingham tomorrow. :j It's been so long since I've been anywhere for any reason that I'm really excited to be going.

    5) I need to see my friend tonight to hand over my key so she can look after mog, which is a fine excuse to meet her in the pub for a drinky or two. ;)

I probably won't be posting for the next few days, unless I can find a cheap internet cafe in Brum, so have a good few days all and I'll see you at the weekend. :)
Back after a very long break!

    Evening Ladies and Gent,

Hope you have all had a good day.

    1) One of my favourite new songs playing on the radio as I type... I am croaking along.

    2) Had a walk in the warm sunshine at lunch time

    3) Had a nice man round to give me a quote on sorting out my TV aerial... turns out I just need new cabling... still that will be £90 incl tax... I am kicking myself now though as he offered to stay and do it for me and I said no because I thought it was expensive... I have had the other quotes now and turns out that it isn't....

    4) Whipping up a batch of aple and carrot muffins... I think that they are a tad "rare" but I hate dried out cakes!

    5) Scarpered from the office just after 5pm... what a rarity. Its amazing how much evening you have left when you leave work on time.

Am annoyed with the boss (there's a change!). anyway following several departures from the team we are having a restructure. I have told him a number of times that I am bored and lacking a challenge... then last week he asked what my preferences would be... so I tld him I wanted some people management experience. Lo and behold... today he shared the new proposed structure with one of the other senior team members.... and guess what... I am staying doing exactly what I am doing now and have been doing for the past 4 years. ARGH!!! :wall: To make it worse, one of the other senior team who EVERYONE complains about, and who have had several team members quit because he is such a dreadful manager is getting yet another new team member. Now how does that work? So I work my socks off, over deliver, make sure that i am supportive, usually do what i am told and I get 'eck all! We'll see about that!

Anyway on that note... I am going to eat cake.

    Enjoy your evening.

    L

PS my friend L has really got into the swing of 5 pleasures and text me hers this evening and was very pleased with her self. makes a change from very sad recent messages
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
