Oh poor you, Skint - hope you are soon better

    Pleased for you Mhagster

    1. Thanks for your good wishes - they paid off as she was brilliant in her play, all 4 were good but she really shone and showed what she can do. FIngers crossed for an A (might be too much to hope for an A*) Mind you the bit where she was playing the stroppy teenager - I don't think that was acting :rotfl:
    2. Walked back from performance across the fields - ended up having to navigate over a muddy ditch and negotiate round some fields with crops in - school is only half a mile from home, took me an hour.:o
    3. had a nice soak in the bath after doing 15 minutes of exercises. I've been meaning to make a start on some yoga type stretches again and today I did
    4. Did the dusting / tidying of the bedroom listening to Harry Potter tapes. Might use this technique to do the rest of the house tomorrow.
    5. Managed to unshrink my hand knitted jumper that i just threw in the machine. It seems ok now, anyway.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Mhags so pleased for you all, hope your OH improves steadily now he's home
Ladyhawk 180 emails! It's a wonder you don't have a breakdown, I hate it if mine go over 20 - one of the joys of retirement. Thank you for the very kind offer, I'll give it some thought and get back to you, around the end of October if that's okay? :p
OT wishing you well. Sometimes it's better not to know how poorly we are then we don't feel it iyswim. Mind you it does mean we lose out on some sympathy ;)
VJsmum sounds as though everything went well, hope your DD gets a top result :j. Agree re the stroppy teen thing, they seem not to need any rehearsal at that!
Tealady best of luck on Saturday, my plans to go have been scuppered as my dog sitter can't have him now but I'll be doing a sun (moon?) dance wishing for a dry night

    1. It only rained for about an hour today :D
    2. Good exercise class, followed by a talk from a physio with 'new' ideas which could be helpful
    3. Upped my weights to 2.5kg, not a lot but have not long upped to 1.5kg. Bought two (they would only accept a donation) so I can work out more at home
    4. Called in to DD, her football team is having a car boot sale soon so I can donate a couple of boxfuls of bits towards their new away kit
    5. Postie brought two big bags and several sachets of cat food to trial, courtesy of the freebie board, took some to my DNeighbour for her mog to trial

    Sleep tight :)

Firstly Mhagster, what good news. Also what a star your FiL is.
Enjoyed everyone else's joys too! Hugs to those needing.
The day's just flown... but here's a collection.
    1. Raising money for my sponsored Live Below The Line challenge, I set myself a target of £50 and should reach it easily.
    2. Enjoyable chat with niece who rang to pick my brains over childcare as I used to be a reg. childminder and also taught the Diploma in Home Based Childcare.
    3. All the little joys of having just £1 a day for food and drink. I haven't cheated, but I did use ingenuity in using some pasta and pesto that was a competition prize for a free lunch.
Which meant I had 90p left for the evening meal and could cook some yellow stickered Italian - seasoned belly pork slices, (45p) along with Aldi's gorgeous lemon couscous (15p) and a carrot and orange salad. (15p) I haven't enjoyed a meal as much in a very long time.
    4. New students and students passing tests.
    5. Racing on TV in the week and donating money to the Injured Jockeys' Fund.
    6. Our recycling bin is nearly full after a week but our rubbish bin is only half full after a fortnight. I remembered to put it out as well. That's the way I want things to go!
    7. Freebie toothpaste and toothbrush to trial and samples to pass on too.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Well, what a pants week. Another week of school phoning incessantly to complain about smaller son.

They arranged a meeting yesterday (head, teaching assistant and SENCo) and OH said he would go with me (the first time any one has EVER been to a meeting with me to do with the boys!!!!)

He was very good and asked lots of questions and argued with them a bit.

Apparently his behaviour (son's, not OH's) is now so bad they are considering exclusion. They suggest from September he goes to a school with a "nurture" unit.

    Still slightly dumbstruck.

Oh yes, and got the "C's father should be involved, he should be in the meetings, let's phone him now" bloody rubbish. When I said I would not go to any meeting where he is present the head said "Really, you need to start thinking about C"...

So I dashed her off a letter about the ex and his treatment of me and sons, between the end of the meeting and taking C home for lunch (since they can't handle him during the lunch hour either). Suffice to say she read the letter and phoned to say the ex will not be in any meeting that I am in.

    What an absolute shambles.
