1.Caravan news. its one which can be towed. its only small and quite old but its great :) . Its parked nest to my stables and today I have been in there reading a book and having a cuppa between grooming horses and poo-picking the field. I have great plans for it I would like to make patchwork cover for the seats and some sort of cheerful curtains as its a bit "beige" at the moment. I quite fancy bright primary colours sort of ethnicky. would also like to paint the inside off white and the ceiling blue and print onto it little silver stars. Can you get paint that will cover the inside of a bog standard caravan I wonder? All this will take an age , need a sewing machine first a hand/foot worked one as I would like to make quilts and can use the van to store all the material. its all very exciting.

    Okay, jealous now :p
You can rub it down and paint with vinyl silk which will give a steam-proof finish. The wood will need a clean with sugar soap before you rub it down, then either re-varnish or paint with a vinyl or eggshell. Our first was a little old brown and cream ABI which needed a lot of re-upholstery etc., it was my little dolls house. I spent more time making soft furnishings and cleaning it than I did my home! I knew I should have been a gypsy ;)

Mhags hoping all will be well now, insha'Allah

    1. Good morning at exercise class, we were observed by two young 'trainee' physios who joined in our exercises and gave up a quarter of the way through. No stamina!
    2. It came down in stair rods as we left so I was able to give a couple of ladies a lift home. I got wetter than they did, loading their oxygen tanks into the car
3 Called into the farm shop for white vinegar (a gallon for £3.99p) on the way home, and got 8 kiwi for 50p
    4. Arranged to go out to lunch with friends on Monday, I have some Mr T vouchers converted into Cafe Rouge ones so four of us are going to take advantage of them before they go out of date
    5. Made a lovely pud of yogurt and bits from the fruit bowl, an over-ripe nana, some soft grapes and a plum, and sprinkled 'desecrated' coconut over. Was very yum :)

    Sleep tight :)

hello, amazing the difference a day can make. Surgeon is happy with how op went yesterday and talking about home on Monday.
He is still very tired and totally fed up of hospitals.

1.Work....ever so glad it was Friday! Colleagues being understanding.
2.Friend picking me up & taking me home.....was at work all day & then straight to hospital......I bought her some gift vouchers to say Ta.....and got my 25% staff discount on them ! :)
3.Nice photos of my great niece, she is 7 months old tomorrow.
4.Nice chit chat with DD1.....was driving by on way home (had picked up friend at work, drove to her house then went in her car) so picked her & DS (who went to pick her up) outside her work & gave them a lift home......all of 1 minute drive!
5.Just generally pleased this week has passed!
    6. Getting a free voucher for $15 for a local garden centre.....for moving in to our new home! No idea why but will use it!

Wishing you all a lovely Bank holiday weekend.

Brilliant news Mhags :j, you sound like the sun has just come out - and if you were here you'd know just what I mean, we've now had rain for 15 consecutive days! Not all day but at least part of each one. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers for everyone being at home together soon, and DH's steady recovery :)

    Excellent news, MHags.

(We've had the consecutive rain here too and have been forecast a -5 frost tonight).

News from here - just looked round the other possible new primary school for smaller son. The head got very vague about places when I listed his SEN's (!) Apparently he has one family interested but they haven't filled in the application form yet. Whereas I filled that in on Tuesday...

...now comes the decision whether to move smaller son's school and whether to do it now or in September. It would get rid of weak class teacher and numpty SENCo. It would also mean though that he would have to swap Educational Psychologists and I thought she was pretty good. Hmmmmm.

Don't really know what to do. Hopefully he would have a different class teacher in September anyway. But I think he now has a "marked card" at school and it would be a real shift in attitude from him to move away from his "difficult" label. I said to the head today (at the potential new school) that I have had to pick him up twice this week and he talked about exclusion. I said, "No, no thought of exclusion, they just don't know how to handle him so phone me to take him home". :-(

mhagster glad to hear things have gone well, hope your OH well enough to be home soon.

    1. Its Friday.... no more work until Tuesday

    2. Finished work early and went to Ald1 to do shopping and avoid Bank Hol weekend shopping

    3. Return of the prodigal DS, complete with nettle rash, bruises and muddy clothes, can only imagine what royal marines have done with him all week (crawling through mud, assault courses etc) ...but he has still managed to spend all the money I gave him

    4. DS first words of greeting....what is there to eat ? :( Nothing new there then !! Pizza £1.49, wedges 30p, garlic bread 39p and spicy chicken fillets £1.50 for tea all from Ald1 and Icel@nd much cheaper than delivery

    5. DS has gone to gun run practice at college, so am enjoying a sneaky bar of choc which I had hidden and a cuppa... what a mean mummy I am :p
