    Good evening all!

mhagster - sorry to hear this news. I do hope all goes well for your DH ;)

    An oldtractor got a caravan:)

Ladyhawk - glad to hear that you got on ok with N@twest - I have found them ok tbh and the Spanish one , I gather that others have not been so lucky.

    5 for today

    1. Day off today and only tomorrow to go then off for four days a nice long weekend ;)

2.Getting a letter to say that our free tickets will be honoured for further fixtures at Ascot:) .

    3. A lovely , lovely lunch at a country house and we may go there on Christmas day instead of feeding the five thousand . Treat from OH as an early birthday present .

    4. Cleaned out the hen house - they have oodles of clean shredded paper . I could sleep in there myself .

5.Thousands of tweets for my lovely cousin , including one from Sir Ian Blair. Truly sad :(, but honouring a fine, fine man .

    Have a good evening all!

    2. NSD No.2, woohoo!

    3. Cancelled a weekend away but on the plus side was able to cancel the hotel with no penalty and now have over £100 'extra' this month to put towards renovations/summer holiday fun with DD

    4. One of my friends is going to take us to see Matilda in London over the summer holidays, yippee!!

    5. Reverbe'd a £1 coin in my own driveway, woop woop!!

    6. Did a survey and earned £4 LV this morning, that'll help my £100 grocery budget this month.

    7. An excited DD has become a Brownie this evening

    Evening all.

Chicken - please don't even mention the Spanish bank - my blood pressure still goes up at the mere thought of them!:mad: I'm glad you'll be able to use your Ascot tickets on another day. :)

OT - enjoy you new purchase! (As I'm sure you will. :))

mhags - my thoughts to you, your OH and your family - I really hope all goes well tomorrow.

    1) Got my tickets for my work trip to Birmingham next week. I'm really looking forward it. :j

    2) Asked a senior colleague if she would give me a reference for my job application, and she responded with a list of reasons why the job wasn't right for me - before admitting that she's certain I'll get it and she just doesn't want me to leave. :o

    3) A very tasty lunch of RTC chicken with salad, dressed with some of a freebie bottle of salad dressing, with HM bread - I really should take a packed lunch more often (and would if I was a bit more organised :o).

    4) Made a Thai prawn and veg curry for dinner, using a RTC packet of sauce. (The packet description of the heat level is 'explosive' - that's a bit of an exaggeration but it's certainly nice and warming on a chilly evening!)

    5) The last HB episode to watch tonight on iplayer. :D (I know I said that last night, but I'd forgotten I hadn't watch the previous episode so I watched that instead yesterday.)

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    And 5. Joining moneysavingexpert.com :-)

CCP - Oh dear - I think I hit a nerve there, sorry :(. "don't mention the Spanish bank" sounds like "don't mention the Scottish play".

Re your errr. ...No. 2 (!) How nice to be appreciated, hhmm good to know that you can see through the smoke and mirrors re the reference ;) It could have put you off, glad it hasn't x

mhags - my thoughts are with you all, hope your OH op goes well xx

    k_upside_down welcome to MSE :money:

Feeling really tired. Woke up at 3.30am started worrying about work and then couldnt get back to sleep :(

    1. Dry on way to work this morning
    2. Allocated parking space at work today
    3. End of year performance review and manager confirms she is more than happy with my performance (100% on security and 98% on advice given - nothing done wrong but additional reviews that could have been carried out) but I dont think she realises what a struggle I find it to keep up these levels and how much it is worrying me
    4. NSD
    5. Liver and onions for tea with lashings of gravy

Mhagster, positive thoughts to you and all yours. I know we'll all be thinking of you.

Oldtractor, ooh cool, you are now Top Gear's worst enemy...

Chicken, shame about Ascot but at least you found out in time.

Sparrer, I'm not sure if I am affected by citrus but thank you for giving me something to think about. I'm a lot better if I don't eat full stop but that's not sustainable long term.

Frith, hope your son settles well at his new school. Yes, I know he isn't there yet. He will be. Hoping also that you all get the support you deserve.

Everyone else - thank you for sharing

    1. Son helping - he's off work for a couple of days and got me bits of shopping that we needed. It was cold and windy today and a trike ride wouldn't have been pleasant.

    2. Lots of NSD's lately. Work is patchy, so seeing a healthy bank balance is very reassuring.

    3. Throwing out reams and reams of outdated paperwork for my jobs. Apart from the legal and medical professions no profession generates as much unnecessary bumph as teaching.

    4. A great night at the live music club again. It was a guest night and the lead singer of the group that played has a fantastic voice, so powerful but never harsh.

    5. Did you know coconut milk tastes great in coffee? Me neither, but I now know how to use up the OOD packet of dried milk that's been cluttering up the cupboard for 18 months or so. I think it will taste nice in chai too.

    6. Some free body lotion in the post. Won't last long but nice to try before you buy. I will need to buy some soon and I hate buying something, only to discover it is useless.

    7. About to watch Tim Spall and his wife Shane on the TV. Shane emailed me when I posted about her book on their website, I was really thrilled. What a lovely lady.

Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    Welcome k_upside_down

    Best wishes for tomorrow Mhagster

Old Tractor - is it an old caravan? We too are caravanners - though for me it is more a means to an end (lots of cheap holidays) than the thing itself.

Chicken - Lord and Lady dining out in style ;)

Oof I'm stuffed - not sure why

    1. Working from home - haven't done much but enjoyed it :o It's marking and if it doesn't get done in their time, it will have to be done in mine.
    2. Yummy bacon and egg for lunch
    3. Had hair done this PM. Have gone back to a salon i used to use and I much prefer it. It was a laugh and my hair looks fab.
    4. Dad is coming out next week - he has been in hospital since January 27th I think  and although I am not sure how he is going to get on at home, he is so fed up that I think just seeing it will do him good. My brother is moving in for a while, so it's all good.
    5. DD getting some good marks in her mock GCSEs - bodes well for the next few weeks.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
