Good evening all !

mhagster - I hope all goes well tomorrow x

Frith - blimey ,your poor son . Seems teacher has the communication difficulties x

OT - Iwant your life !!!

6 for today

1.Site visit all day- seems the manager is as barking (in the nicest possible way) as I am :D She had "terrorised" the staff who were all scared stiff of me as she had said that I would shut the place down if I found anything wrong . It would take a lot more than little old me ;)I had to spend the day trying to reassure them that I was not an ogre !

2.The manager took my mostly positive feedback well and anything I found wrong I pointed out at the time to them. So there will be no nasty surprises or arguments when I write my report.

3.Arranged to go and finish the second day of my site visit at 7.30 am next week -tee hee

4. Annual leave tomorrow- off to the races with OH with free tickets courtesy of this site :money:Blokey from work is also going as I gave him two tickets .I need to let my hair down .

5. Quiet night in as OH is going out !

6 Arranged to meet up with a bunch of my ex colleagues when we can all decide on a date, should be fun and there is food involved.

Have a good evening all!
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Evening all.

One I forgot to respond to yesterday:
1. Telling my boss by email about my cousin and that I would like the day off for the funeral and got a really lovely response of just "ok" he has been sat opposite me all day and not said a word. The sooner he f**** off and retires the better ( I may well put this in his leaving card) .The pleasure is , each day that passes means one less day I have left to look at him;)

There must be a mould somewhere as that's the exact same response I got from my manager a few months ago when I told her I'd need some time off for some medical tests for a potentially serious illness. I thought that was rude, but speaking like that to someone who's been bereaved is unforgiveable. [Note to self - I've never heard anything more about those tests, so I really must chase up my GP tomorrow.]

Frith - that school seems to be absolutely useless. I really hope poor C gets a place at another school where they do things properly.

mhags - I hope all goes well with the surgery and that this is the last bump before a smooth recovery.

1) Waking up to the smell of fresh bread as I put the BM on the timer before going to bed last night.

2) Finding that all my beans had germinated overnight, so what was a tray of compost when I went to bed was a tray of green shoots when I woke up. :D

3) I had to tell a colleague today that she couldn't have any bedding plants after all as they'd all died in the Great Greenhouse Disaster, and she was more upset for me than for herself. :A

4) I hadn't planned anything for dinner tonight, but have cobbled together a meal of bean burgers (bought on SO and frozen) with spicy tomato sauce which looks quite promising.

5) Another episode of Hairy Bikers tonight. :)

Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Errrrm, what's SHW mean?

1. NSD - hoorah!!

2. Went out for yummy lunch with a friend - and at the end she said she was paying :)

3. Fab time at Rainbows, and DD is going to start at Brownies as well tomorrow!

4. OH is here :):)

5. Another electrician came to quote for our rewiring. I'm not having any more of them in, hopefully will have 4 quotes to choose from in the end! Phew.....they are all different in attitude and ideas, it's quite hard to choose.

6. Good day at work

7. Feeling less grumpy than I did yesterday! That's definitely a pleasure :)

Ah right......wish I could be one of those! Don't reckon I'll ever have that luxury, being a divorcee and my OH will never be able to keep me in style (and has some silly hangups about second marriages so doubt he'll ever make an honest woman of me *sigh*)

Praying for your OH today mhagster x

Evening all,

Mhags - hope it goes well tomorrow (today?) and your DH gets onto the road to recovery

Chicken - enjoy Ascot tomorrow (especially the food :))

I am a sleepy bunny today with another 12+hour day in the office and I am about to start an hours online training that I need to trial before a meeting tomorrow.

I have been in a bit of a tetchy mood all day... not helped by started with what I thought would be a fairly straightforward phone call to my bank to transfer some money... turnsout that it was impossible to speak to an actual person much to my chagrin. I was furious and will now be closing that account... as soon as they send me a card reader so that I can transfer my money out of there!!! GRR!!

1) Popped into N@twest to sort out my ISA - and they were exceptionally helpful. (despite my swearing 12 years ago that I would never bank with them again after they refused to give me a graduate account because I went to university overseas.... despite my having an account with them since I was 6 months old)

2) Paid a £5 cheque into another account from a survey

3) Speaking to a much older colleague in Ireland who said that he learnt a lot from the way I handled a supplier during a price negotiation conference call. I am sure he meant learnt how to do one rather than how not to!!! Anyway I was pleased with how it went and am sure there will be a win-win outcome for both us and the supplier.

4) It was dry every time I went outside today

5) Got the details through from Walk the Walk confirming that I have been accepted as a volunteer at the London moonwalk. I will be prepping the meals and handing them out again this year.

right I had better get cracking with this training....

Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

1. Had my thoughts confirmed today, kiwi is definitely not a citrus fruit so I'm going to have a feast of them as soon as I get to the shops. Was advised not to have citrus as it can aggravate arthritis (poor old beggar ;)) and I'm really missing satsumas and pineapple. Kiwi has a similar sharpness so will make a reasonable substitute

2. A nice lie-in then attacked the house til I ran out of steam after an hour and spent the rest of the morning sounding like Puffing Billy. Wasn't bad enough to stay indoors when it stopped raining though :D

3. Have at last decided on a colour scheme for the lounge, now just need to find some reasonably priced paint/wallpaper and a reliable decorator. Not OS and annoyed that I have to pay someone to do it all but can't be in the house with the paint smell. Oh, I do get cross with it sometimes but know I should be grateful, I could be a lot worse off

4. Postie brought me another packet of marigold seeds, think the company that sent them got mixed up as it's the second I've had in a couple of days. Not complaining of course, according to the pack they're a bright sunshiny yellow :D

5. Just watching the weather forecast, he says it's not going to rain until tomorrow evening :T. I think I know where I'm going if he's right

Take care, sweet dreams :)
