2. dropped DS off at college at 9.30am and hes not back til Friday :j
3. got all shopping done and 2 loads washing on line by lunch time
4. went to meet friends for lunch that I havent seen for a long time so really enjoyed the chat & laughter (the food was good too, and had refillable coke so got 3 full glasses for £2.35 not bad considering pub prices for soft drinks)
5. Another 2 loads of washing done and on line - it looks like a fine evening and the sun is still warm, so hopefully should still dry. Have stripped DS bed and washed his bedding, hoovered and dusted his room and windows are open,... so it is no more the pit of doom

5 for today (so far)
1) Smaller son off school but is fine now.
2) Texts from OH. :-)
3) Did lots of odd jobs today.
4) Smaller cat being overjoyed at killing his 2nd mouse. We've now been joined in the living room by next door's cat.
5) Looking forward to tonight's football match. Its Man City v Man Utd. OH is staying at home to watch it on Sky so we're going to listen to it on the radio. (He's from Manchester and we're hoping for a City win).0 -
1. The sunshine
2. Got all the washing done and dry
3. DD rode her bike to school for the first time, she was very excited, and I was rather proud of my big girl!
4. Went for a free bike ride, asked a nice man hiring out bikes if I could have a little go.....result - I can cycle, woohoo!! I guess I need to look at the bank and work out if I can afford a cheapy bike and start practicing with DD
5. Got lots of YS bargains in A$da and was very sensible with the other bits...still spent more than I wanted to. Oh well...it's only money, can't take it with me!
Hospital appointment was a tad disappointing, basically I'm to go away and get on with things and come back when I can't cope with it any longer, there's no 'magic bullet', oh and the next operation has a 75% success rate (they just redo it if it doesn't work).....0 -
Chicken so sorry to hear of your cousin, how tragic
my condolences to you and your family xxx
Been busy weekend but if you asked me what I achieved I couldn't tell you
Pleasures for last few days
1. No rain today. Well until now. Wet stuff back tomorrow <sigh>
2. H is off all week. This is a double edged sword. Lovely having him at home BUT he is off sick with a bad chest infection and when he's home I don't get half as much done
3. Sat and had a cup of coffee in my parents new touring caravan, they quite often do this as they've not tested it yet. Looking forward to going away in it as its much plusher than their last caravan
4. Lovely game of fetch with Luna with DD helping
5. I can see my courgette plants are about to germinate, I love it when they finally peek through.
6. Sitting with a cheeky Monday night white wine spritzerI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Good evening all!
Thank you all once again xx Topsyturphy and riversong thanks for popping in to say what you did x
take it like a man ,sonny - You, me,skint and mcculloch are off to the races then , you can pick the winners
tealady- aka steel buns . If the weather continues , you may need a waterproof bra on 12th May ...or some cling film might do the trick . Well done for the 20 miles !
Happy belated birthday !!!
5 for today
1. Telling my boss by email about my cousin and that I would like the day off for the funeral and got a really lovely response of just "ok" he has been sat opposite me all day and not said a word. The sooner he f**** off and retires the better ( I may well put this in his leaving card) .The pleasure is , each day that passes means one less day I have left to look at him;)
2.Averted a crises with an owner of a company who was panicking on the phone for no real reason -38mins and 42 seconds later panic over.Peace is now restored.
3.Told a man at work to stop looking at my behind - and he admitted he was doing just that.I could sense it, made me feel a bit creepy tbh.Thank goodness I don't need to wear jodphurs/breeches any more to work.Nowadays I would probably scare Britain in them anyway:)
4.Macaroni cheese for tea.
5.My cousin who died was very well thought of and well established in his profession. I was amazed to find so many lovely tributes to him already on the internet .
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
1) Sunshine. It was just so nice to look out of the window and not see rain streaming down it, even if the window was the one in the office. (Now I'm home it's raining again, natch.)
2) Booked an extra day off for my visit to Birmingham next week: I'll have to pay for the extra night in the hotel myself, but it means I'll get to see the city rather than dashing up and back again within 24 hours.
3) Found a very interesting looking new job, for the same organisation but in a different department - it's similar to what I did when I first joined, but at a more senior level. I'm going to speak to the lady who would be my manager (and who was my previous manager) before deciding whether to apply, but I'm pretty certain I will as I loved my old job and was very sad when it vanished and I got moved elsewhere.
4) Chatting to my DM on the phone and both our cats were miaowing in the background: they're both quite old and deaf so they couldn't actually hear each other, but it sounded like they were having a conversation too. :rotfl:
5) I had a lousy night's sleep last night so I'm spending an evening without studying - I've just got to decide whether to watch football or snooker.
6) Received the refund for my faulty greenhouse: that, along with various survey and cashback vouchers, means I've now got nearly £80 in Amazon credit waiting to be spent.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Oh Chicken, so sorry your boss is a total flumpwit, just keep counting the days til he goes....and sign his card?!? I never sign cards of people I don't like, I don't care how odd it looks, I'm just bolshy
Hugs x

Chicken - at least he said OK and not no. Still how awful of him to not even send condolences. My boss is the same - Dad has been in hospital for 3 months and was touch and go at one point. Has boss even asked "how's your dad?" has he bu88ery.
Day off today and a bit of warmth and sunshine
1. A bit of warmth and sunshine
2. Lunch with friend
3. Cleaned bathrooms - the pleasure is that I'm getting quicker
4. LO beef casserole for tea
5. Done some baking- bread pud, twinks and weetabix cake.
Mhagster - hope OH gets to come home tomorrow.
Kittikins - glad the cycling worked out. Try freecycle (literally!) for a bikeI wanna be in the room where it happens0
