God, that's heartbreaking, Chicky. My heart's going out to you and your family. So terrible0

(((Chicken))) God bless you and all the family. You're all in my thoughts and will be in my prayers tonight. We're all here for you, just do what you need and come back when you feel up to it S xx0

1. DD and I have had a nice lazy day as the weather was too bad to do what we were planning to do and it was lovely to be with her and not having any constraints on our time, I do love weekends!
2. The second rewiring quote has come in and its £600 less than the first one, woopwoop!! I didn't like the man much but his check&trade reviews are good, so I guess I don't need to like his personality much, just that he does a good job on my electrics. One more quote to go....
3. DD and I are watching the earth programme on BBC4, hoorah for the Beeb!
4. NSD and NPD, hoorah!
5. DD made an amazing chocolate/vanilla marble cake this afternoon, that sadly she doesn't like as it's, get this, "too chocolatey"......strange girl....but I shall take the rest of the cake to church tomorrow as I certainly don't need all those calories!
6. She rode her bike for me, first time I've seen her ride without stabilisers (my dad has taught her so the bike has been up there until recently). She's really good and I'm now wistfully eyeing a bike for me on H*lfords, but not sure if it's a good idea as walking after her has made my stupid leg hurt a lot.......maybe it'll be better to cycle than walk?!? Could be an expensive way to find out......
7. Texts with OHCan't wait to see him tomorrow when we take DD and his son out

Oh chicken - so sorry to hear your news. How tragic.
Kittikins - could you hire one for a few hours somewhere to find out? Or look at freecycle / freegle or the local paper for a cheepie.
For today
1. Watching DS play footie - team lost 6-1 but he played ok
2. bacon sandwich for lunch - yummy
3. Went to see my friend's girls in their dance show this afternoon
4. Fish fingers for tea.
5. Decided to have a pop at making a new skirt that to buy from White Stuff would have been £50I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening all.
1) A nice lie-in this morning - I'm making the most of it as I only have one more day of holiday left before I have to go back to work.
2) I intended to go up to the shop to get some lunch but the weather was so miserable I couldn't face it. I had a dig around in the freezer instead and cobbled together a very tasty lunch of tomato and chickpea soup, and some mini pizzas I rescued from a work function.
3) Managed to find a 20 minute gap in the rain to get up to the shop and get some cat food, which I'd run out of and had to get in case mog decided my fingers would make a good substitute dinner.
4) Made some HM burger buns, which turned out very nicely if I do say so myself.
5) Snooker to watch this evening - I always enjoy watching it although I'm never sure why.
Chicken - I'm so sorry to hear your dreadful news.Back after a very long break!0 -
Chicken, I am so sorry for your family' s loss. Hugs to you and especially to your mum. Xxx0

Kittikins what about trying out one of the bikes at a gym for 20 mins or so?? They can be adjusted so there's little or no resistance and there are trained staff there to advise. Just a thought
1. It's raining, for only the 11th day running. I'm sure it's a pleasure, just need to think of why :undecided
2. Thanks to the above the house is clean even if the garden is beginning to look like a jungle scene from Tarzan. Won't have to pick up a duster or get the vac out for a couple of days
3. Postie brought my company pension statement, at long last they've sorted out my tax and are paying it back monthly
4. Watched a WW2 film this afternoon, not usually into that sort of film but it was very different and very heartwarming, ie it had a happy ending for both sides
5. Made a korma this evening, it's in the slow cooker and the smell is driving me mad, I want tomorrows dinner now! Padded out with lots of veg and pulses it will portion into seven or eight for the freezer
Sleep well, stay safe0 -
Very sorry to hear your sad news, Chicken. What a shock for you all.

2) Got the boys new trainers, not before time.
3) Finally made it to Sainsburys so stocked up now.
4) Gammon and roast veg for tea.
5) My school friend came round for tea and has just left.0
