5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Very quiet here as lashing rain and high winds aren't great cycling partners, so it's mostly been indoors for me.
Thanks for sharing all your joys, I love reading them.
1. Lovely messages regarding my buying in to the Angrove Rumbaba syndicate -I stand by what I said about jumps people being nicer!
2. As we are on that tack, yesterday a horse called Cerium won a televised race, the Highland Grand National at Perth. He was once very near top-class, but this was his first win for 6 years, he started the 40-1 outsider. I love this horse, in 2009 he finished fifth in the Grand National at 100-1 - some achievement in itself - but he did it with a fractured skull, somehow in going round, the flying hoof of a faller had caught him just above his eye. He must have been in some pain but it didn't stop him.
3. Freebie hush hush laundry product to test. OK not that OS, but free! Downside was the silly people sending it sent it in a bubble envelope and didn't tape the lid. Well done Royal Mail for rescuing it.
4. Son's lovely home-made foccacia. He does bread so much better than me.
5. Vanilla chai. Mr T's finest. I don't think I'll ever be cured of my habit of wanting lots of different teas in the house when I keep discovering lovely stuff like this. It's a proper chai too, not like the stuff Twinings do that just has a couple of spices in it.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Dundee doll I remember walking out of a shop leaving a trolley of shopping as they refused my Scottish notes, I could have paid by card but walked out on principle!
Hello everyone, Saurday evening here and will head to bed early again.
My husband's UK colleague went to visit him this morning which meant I could go in slightly later & I had time to shop, wash & iron before heading out ....ironed whilst watching Casualty!
OH was quite exhausted today with everything & felt rather scunnered which is a good Scottish word . Possibly home on Tuesday but we'll see!
1.Getting a few bargains whilst shopping.
2.Sun was shining so washing dried.
3.Cream eggs for 39cents at DD1's shop....thought they had all been sold, was very excited to find more!
4.OH continuing to progress although he was tired today I can see how well he is doing.
5.My sister listening to me this afternoon, was feeling overwhelmed by everything0 -
Wow lucky you chicken, having a break in the rain to do some gardening. Or did you run in and out between downpours?
Sparrer- no it was a perfect blue sky day . Not so, now though :rotfl:,
mcculloch - Angrove Rumbaba - excellent bloodline- Dr Fong, Danehill, Northern Dancer , Nureyev . A speedy little hurdler in the making. Will he stay more than two and a half miles ? I shall watch this little colt with interest x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Oh thank you for those positive words Chicken! He's got a lot of good blood in him, but some of the posts online about him have been so negative. Good job he can't read, he is as game as a pebble, (where did that saying come from?!) He is loved so much by his owner/breeder, it's infectious.
mhagster, huge hugs to you, your sister must be feeling so helpless and have so many mixed emotions, it will be bringing things back for her. Perhaps it was just a wee wobble and she can continue to give you much-needed support. I hide a lot of things from my sister as she is very highly strung, I was thinking how good it was for you that you could share.
Have you anything like the Macmillan Nurses out there that you could talk to? Surely there must be something, I do hope so.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... mcculloch-I had a sneaky peak at the NH flat race at Hexham on Youtube where he came fourth. He seemed well balanced throughout , and "workman like " - ears pricked and gets on with the job- nice qualities . To be fair the jockey didn't get behind him at all , as she was looking after him on his first outing - just hands and heels as there would be no sense in doing otherwise in the position he was in the field . I would love to see him race when he matures, gets upside the other horses and has a prof. jockey to drive him forward rhythmically, I am sure he has a lot more in him than is yet known . No disrespect to the amateur btw.
The negative comments are probably because he does look so different . Let him show all the disbelievers -thats what I say.;):AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Good evening all !
What a difference a few hours makes , not in a good way:( Been told about an hour ago that my cousin was killed in a motorbike accident last night/the early hours of this morning when he was coming home after finishing his shift at work. Not sure of the details , just in shock at the moment .Had to phone a few relatives to let them know, my Mum is in bits
Will return when I have something nicer to say xx:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
