Chickenopolis agree with yr comments re Grand National. Many moons ago (in my teens) I rode for a stable in Doncaster and there is nothing like a gallop on a thoroughbred, its heartbreaking to know about the casualties that die each year.
Glad to hear your throat is feeling better .

CCP hope you feel better tomorrow, same goes to Ladyhawk -hope the co-codamol have kicked in and given you some pain relief

Frith Your sons brought a tear to my eye with their banner card and candles, god bless em.... kids - they can put us through hell at times but they can be so sweet at times too

    My 5 for today: (saturday*)

    1. Woke at 5am got up and made a cup of tea, went back to bed and managed to sleep for a bit longer, then lay in bed reading and posting on here until 11 when finally decided I should get up.

    2. Homemade apple and carrot muffins for breakfast must count as one of my 5 a day surely ;)

    3. Did online banking, moved money around to pay for annual house insurance ...not a pleasure £££ but at least I have peace of mind that most eventualities are covered

    4. Finished book I bought in cs, will pass on to friend who shares books with me

    5. Chicken fajhitas for tea were nom nom. Watched some naff film with DS, but he enjoyed it and it makes a change for him to be sociable

Late again, this falling asleep in the evenings is getting silly!
Ladyhawk I hope you'll get some relief asap
beachbaby re rabbits - there are lots of little ones now, with no road sense at all, I have to keep winding down the window and shouting at them to get on the grass. Which probably explains why my children never let me drive when we go out together...
Hope the grumpies are feeling happier today
Frith I so agree about Lloyd

    1. nsd/npd
    2. Ironing basket cleared :D
    3. Vac'd up and downstairs, always looks so nice when it's just been done (forgot the stairs though, but it'll give me something to do another day ;))
    4. Did some dead-heading then sat and planned what I'm going to plant in the coming days
    5. Need fill up the car tomorrow but at least I have double N4ctar points to come from that
    6. quick pleasure for tomorrow, visiting DM and have booked a restaurant which takes tastecards

    Sweet dreams :)

Yay for drugs!!! I have slept the whole night through and though my throat is feeling little rusty I am sooooooo much better :D

Thank you DB for going through 6 years of medical school and training for 15 years to be an ENT surgeon so you can make me better :D

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Morning all

Sparrer - I hoovered my stairs :p - still have stuff left to do housework wise though
Ladyhawk hope the drugs have started to work
Frith - bless your sons :A

So, a busy day yesterday - not convinced it was all pleasurable, let's see

    1. Cleaned hall stairs landing, spare room (ish), kitchen/diner (including oven ), did 2 bedrooms and bathrooms on Friday. Just have 2 lounges, conservatory, study and DD's bedroom left. House was an absolute tip as the cleaning fairies must have come to Stockholm with me and, likewise, come back with flu. DD is supposed to do her own, but she doesn't and it gets to the point where I can't stand it so I do it. The pleasure in all this is that the house doesn't look too bad and will be pretty much finished today or tomorrow
    2. OH did the garden - mowed lawn and tidied patio. That looks much better. My job is to sort out the veggie beds and think about what to put in them.
    3. Freezer surprise for tea. DD has announced she wants to be a vegetarian again so she had LO cauli cheese with quorn sausage I bought. DS had whoopsied sausages. Me and OH had lots of various bits of curry that were floating about the freezer.
    4. Watched TV with DS - the voice, BGT and casualty. Never seen casualty before, was Lloyd the black guy with the chip on his shoulder? DS slept 13 hours after getting back from skiing :D
    5. It is my first Saturday at home for 4 weeks and it has been spent just pottering and getting stuff done. Rather boring - but rather nice.

I am hoping for similar today - without the oven cleaning!:D
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Had a good day yesterday.

    1. Quins won - its been a good season for them this year and they will be in the premiership semi finals.

    2. Visited MinL and she was fairly happy and didn't moan too mch.

    3. Planted more seeds - free ones - the ones I've already planted are starting to grow.

    4. Watching my dog play with a plastic bottle.

    5. Managed to buy sisters birthday present with 20% off.

see now I have visions of a wee cockney sparrer hanging out her car window shouting at wee baby rabbits!

    1.Sunny day.
2.Had to go out & buy new school blouses for girls winter uniform for going back to school tomorrow, cheaper (though def not cheap) than I had thought they would be! Also had to get DD1 new school shoes. I will not buy cheap again.....fell to bits after 1 term.
3.Pottered about, been having a very down in the dumps day...reality is kicking in big style.
4.Made mince & tatties for tea.
5.Made fresh cream & strawberry sponge for pudding with special offer strawbs.

    Enjoy your Sunday x

eta: a friend came round with cakes! and has offered to take us to hospital on operation day which is very kind of her!

Morning :) I'm feeling less grumpy today so that's something. I think it might have to do with the sun being out and having had a good night's sleep. So, here's some pleasures from yesterday/this morning so far:

    1. A good night's sleep, waking with the sun shining through a crack in the curtains. Waking up naturally really helps a good start to the day.
    2. Went to see a friend I haven't seen for a while - it was good to catch up.
    3. Watched an interesting film last night - Hereafter - it was very different to the normal films we've had lately so it made a thoughtful nice change.
    4. Feeling good about my renewed sense of make-do-and-mend-iness. Though I'm not sure how I feel about my re-using teabags!
    5. Steak Pie with Mash and Veg for tea.
    6. Promising myself to put body lotion on every day from now on and using up all the body lotions and creams I've bought/been given over the last few months/years. I'm going to take 5-10 minutes out to keep myself on top form and to de-stress a little.

We had a really nice toad in the hole for tea and there are 2 sausage leftover with a bit of batter. I get the feeling Mr Kitchenbunny will ask for a bacon, egg and sausage sandwich for lunch, so I'll sneak the second sausage in a bap with some brown sauce and the rest of the batter for mine. :) When I put the oven on for the pie's baking tonight I'll whip up a batch of cookies to bake at the same time and make the most of the oven. I hate paying for something and not getting the most out of it! :D

Hope everyone has a lovely day and those under the weather or down have reason to smile very soon. ((hugs))
