Ladyhawk - Well done on the interview, keeping fingers crossed for you
Pleasures for yesterday,

2. Got to talk to both of my favourite nieces on the phone yesterday, both sounded happy and settled
3. DD and OH laughing together. It was at my expense but good to hear them having fun together. They are so alike they are either fighting or laughing
4. Missing the hail showers on the way home from work so managed to get home dry
5. Quick easy pasta dinner but still tasty.

Nice & sunny again today
1.Didn't sleep well as too sore so got up & phoned my friend from home, nice to chat to her.
2.Popped in to work, nice to see everyone. Got the huggy/sorry for you bit out the way and I can start back properly on Monday. Also meant I made myself go in the car! I wasn't driving on Wednesday when we crashed but I now feel quite scared of driving. So was slightly ultra cautious but got there fine.
3.Had a coffee & catch up with friend. She asked if there is anything she/partner can do, so I've asked if they would take me to visits at hospital. They are more than happy to do this & will cut a big chunk of travelling on public transport for me.
4.Chatted with boss & they have also offered their support, not just as my employers but as a family. It feels good to be surrounded by friendship, all be it on a smaller scale than at home.
5.Operation day has been re-scheduled for next week, was supposed to be 3 weeks time. But a theatre slot came up & the team of surgeons are all free to do the op, so oh my! all systems go for next week. OH is happy for it to go ahead, I think he'd rather it was dealt with.....I think I've been 'talking the talk' and now it really is real it's a different matter. This is seriously scary stuff. Have arranged time off work. They have been excellent.
6.Made lasagne for dinner again, with the help(?) of DS & DD2. I asked them to chop veg & grate cheese, they took blooming ages but we got there in the end. Also made apple sponge & 2 banana loaves.
7.Got a very nice email reply from the rugby boys! I'd emailed a letter of thanks to them for their kind assistance on Wednesday so got a very nice reply and an offer of tickets to their next game.
8,Getting 1/2 price cream eggs.....reckon that makes them half as many calories!
I just want to say I really appreciate all your thoughts, good wishes & prayers over the past week, it has really helped coming on here & reading them & also your pleasures....as I've said before 'normal' helps!0 -

Evening all.
mhagster - best of luck for next week, and enjoy the rugby (players) if you decide to go.
Bitsy Beans - that's really sad news - my commiserations to you and your family.
1) My seminar today went very well - I took more part in it than normal (usually I just arrange things and then let them get on with it, but this time I did a small amount of presenting) and it all seemed to be successful. I did notice that, while everyone said a polite 'thank you' to my manager at the end, no-one asked if they'd see her again as they did when saying goodbye to me.
2) We over-catered a bit at lunchtime, and (with permission) brought a load of stuff home for my packed lunches for the next few weeks, and some back to the office for other people to do the same. It would have ended up in the bin otherwise, so I always try and rescue as much as possible.
3) Watching a whole queue of Caterham 7's at a set of traffic lights - obviously on their way to a car show somewhere. :happyhear
4) As I spent my lunch break at the seminar I was allowed to leave work a bit early, so I got to spend some time in the garden potting on my seedlings. I would have done more but I've now run out of pots.
5) I had a minor brainwave while doing so, when my legs started to hurt from kneeling on the patio, and recycled a tatty old cushion that was waiting to be thrown out into a comfy kneeling mat.
6) HM pizza for dinner tonight, with a glass (or two) of red wine that I got half price yesterday. (I actually went into the shop to get some cat food, but...)
Have a pleasant everyone, everyone, and get well soon to everyone who'd ill or injured at the moment.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening,
I feel like hellMy tonsillitis is not improving so I have made my DB1 promise to have a look at them tomorrow and to give me some antibiotics. He's an ENT surgeon so knows what he's talking about when it comes to these type of things.
1) Sunny afternoon
2) Finally sent off an award submission for work. Fingers cross! While I think our submission is very strong I doubt we will win
3) Went out for lunch with some colleagues. One of which wrecks my head. She never shuts up and lives in her own very special world. She also likes to explain things that she knows nothing about and doesn't listen to anyone else... And despite being the most junbior member of the team by a long way, is exceptionally patronising. The pleasure was escaping the office
4) Got the details through on the assessment centre which I will have to read again when my brain is working
5) Arranged to see a couple of properties tomorrow.
Night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Good evening all. Not been a bad day here today. Hope the poorlys are beginning to feel a bit better. My five......
1. An brisk early morning walk with the dog.
2. Coming home and making scrambled egg on toast.
3. Washing getting dried on the line.
4. Receiving a lovely PM. :-))))
5. DD returning home. Having a sleepover with her friends so the house will be filled with laughter tonight.
Love to all. X0 -
Mhagster - all the best for next week and you seem to have lovely people around who want to help.
1. DS1 being helpful and doing lots of jobs - mainly as he wants to drive.
2. Chatted with neighbours and had a laugh with them.
3. Laughing with DS1 about the pension statement I received and what I will spend it on- I will get £17 a year. Thankfully I do have another one which will pay more.
4. Changer the covers on my sofa and armchairs - it really changes the look of the room.
5. DS2 made it home in one piece from Somerset on an adventure course (his arm was better than when he left)and didn't get lost at all.0
