    7. Was told that I have a sexy voice by the man at the tyre place that I've booked the car in for tyres this morning. Bless him! I've told him he'll be sorely disappointed, lol. (Don't think I'm putting myself down, I know that I'm a hugely overweight, greying, slightly limping woman.........with a sexy voice :) )

At one of my places of work many years ago, one of my jobs was to answer the phone. One of our managers had a friend who rang him regularly dubbed by me "sexy stuart" due to his lovely lilting voice. One day he came in - it was such a disappointment, I can't say :rotfl:

Well done Sparrer - whatever you did, at least you did it! :T
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Just popping in to wish everyone a beautiful day.
Chicken you do make me laugh, did you scoop it out for your very well fed chooks? As for keys in a bowl, I can't think what you mean. How do you know of such things?! ;)
VJsmum don't you just hate when that happens? Talk about shattered dreams!
Ladyhawk I do hope your DB can help, must be horrid for you. I was very fortunate and had mine out when I was 5, but you don't want to hear that :o
(((Bitsy))) love and virtual hugs coming your way
Skint - not quite so skint this morning, congrats on the £50 :T
Kittikins vaccing your new home sounds lovely :). Stupidly I gave my old Dys0n away when I got the Mi4le Cat'n'Dog (from freecycle!), wish I hadn't cos I could have kept it upstairs, had I thought. Hate having to lug it up every time. Perhaps I should look for a bungalow?
Frith lovely to hear you had a positive day, hope the sun keeps shining on you today :)

Back with my 5 later, take care :)

Kittikins:- That sounds very like me last night, I was far to grumpy to post! Enjoying vacuuming your new place doesn’t sound odd, cause I know what you mean. And ouchy re- the re-wiring, but the peace of mind is priceless! Ah god I sound like an advert!:o

Skint, I didn’t even realise it was Friday 13th yesterday, just as well as I was in a grumpy mood anyway.

MHagster:- Do take the painkillers, sometimes it’s just the rest you need to get back on-top of it again.:)

Back later with goodies for today..

Not many pleasures to report lately but here goes:

    1. Made tortilla wraps for the first time last night and they turned out rather well.
    2. Have been a whole 2 days without cola.
    3. Saw 3 green woodpeckers on the field while out for a walk, along with the smallest little baby rabbit I've ever seen. It was about a foot away from us, tiny and probably scared, but soooo cute.
    4. Having a bit of a rest in bed this morning.
    5. The sun is out.

Not much else planned for today. On a bit of a baking roll I thought I'd have a go at making pizza dough to try and make calzones, and otherwise am just scanning the net finding nice looking marinade recipes to use on bits of meat before they go into the freezer. The thought behind that is that when (if it ever does) a HOT summer gets here I won't have to do much cooking - a little grilling and some salad and it's there.

    Have a nice day all.

    Evening all.

I'll join the grump club, if I may - I've been feeling off colour all day, and have spent much of this afternoon arguing with Amaz0n about a missing parcel - the courier insists they left it in the porch, which is a bit of a problem as I don't have a porch!

    1) Long lie-in this morning.

    2) Despite feeling off colour I managed to get a decent chunk of essay writing done.

    3) Received the earrings I ordered, plus the freebie brooch - my DM has decided it's not her thing, so I'll try to sell it instead. :money:

    4) Made one of my favourite o&s loaves. (Short for odds and s*ds - using up the ends of various packets of flour. ;))

    5) I've found a Spanish football match on 5ky which starts shortly - I'm particularly fond of Spanish football as it tends to quickly turn into an argument with a ball in the middle. :rotfl:

    Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Sparrer - I have two much older sisters :D

    5 for today

    1. Banked £10 of change .

    2. Watched the racing .It is 25 years ago that a racing stable that I worked in entered a horse in to the Grand National . I was lucky enough to go to Aintree with the horse and lead him up in the National . The atmosphere was electric but the emotional continuum is still as painful now as it was then. Especially when a horse loses its life, as two did today in the race :( I love horse racing but the "wastage" is still far too great. The delayed start and "pre parade" in front of the crowd probably didn't help .

    3. Throat a little better .

    4.OH buying a take away .

5.Had a long chat with my sister in law as we both work in the same sort of profession .She has been offered a job with one of the companies that I work and this will create a conflict of interest if she accepts . It would be a great job for her though.

Have a good evening all !

    Evening all,

Am writing this from DB1's house as he has insisted that I stay for dinner so he knows I have eaten something. He has got my some antibiotics and cocodamol so with any luck my morning I will be on the mend.

    1) Arrived at DB1's in time for him to have a squizz at my throat to confirm that indeed I do have tonsillitis. He then had to disappear off to a meeting so I spent a very pleasant afternoon with my DSIL and nephew.

    2) Went to have a second viewing of a house I like and a first viewing of some new build flat... Which were overlooking the north circular and were the size of a shoebox. Then look DB and DSIL back to look at the house. I think I may put an offer in on it on Monday. Unfortunately I can't afford full asking price but the agent confirmed that there was some room for negotiation.

    3) Took SIL and nephew to the park which was nice. She bought me an ice cream to soothe my throat.

    4) GOT THE DRUGS! So am just waiting for them to kick in

    5) Lovely sunny day

    Night all

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Good evening all. Ladyhawk, I hope you feel much better soon. My five for today.....
    1. Woken by laughter and general noise at 6am (DD's sleepover) Apparently no sleep had been had last night. I, on the other hand, slept like a log. DD had prepared some cereal and croissants for me so I made a coffee and took them back to bed.
    2. Walked into town to do some errands. Returned to a tidy house.
    3. Home made leek and potato soup for lunch.
    4. Spending some time alone with DD. Lovely long afternoon walk with the dog. Saw some rabbits sat in the sun.
    5. Got rid of the mountain of recycling I had hidden away in the back porch.
Spending the rest of the evening relaxing, catching up with blogs and watching tv. I think a nice mug of tea is in order.
    Love to all. X

    5 or so for today.

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Phone call from friend. I ended up in such a miserable tense state last night I emailed her so she phoned me back.

    3) Phone call from sister who has found a physiotherapist who is confident she can help her bad back - after 15 years of problems.

    4) My school friend came round for tea and has not long gone.

    5) Sons sent us both upstairs and when we came down had made a banner which reads "Worlds best ever mum in the world", lit some candles, tidied up a bit and made us cups of tea! They had also been to the shop and bought me a thank you card and put a chocolate bar in it. :-)

(Smaller cat jumped on the table then reversed onto a candle resulting in a very singed smell but we'll gloss over that).

    6) Watched Casualty. That Lloyd is a bit silly.

    7) Feeling a bit less stressed and awful. Not before time...
