Heating came back on :T - then had to go off again
System needs flushing through and they can't do it till Friday. If we put it on, we risk it all clogging up again.
Anyway 5 for a frustrating day
1. DD had a dermatologist appointment so I took her for coffee / coke afterwards as she didn't need to be back at school till after break
2. Cleaned a lounge and the truly dreadful conservatory - my it looks big. 3 rooms to go on the big "spring clean" but one of those is DD's bedroom and I ain't goin near that for fear i may never be seen again :rotfl:
3. COuldn't go out for lunch as boiler man here - so friend came for a coffee and a chat. Ah well, a fiver saved into the holiday fund.
4. LO chicken pie with beans for lunch - yum
5. An early night I think as I is shattered.
Mhagster - thinking of you and yours.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Phew, what a day.
1. Have discovered a wonderful web site, house work advice and lots and lots of fantastically great sayings about how the most important job is caring for the home and family. It seems my whole life society and media have been saying the opposite, indeed decrying and debasing the housewifes role, and by default, that of the man also.
2. its spring, green hedges ,blossom, birds singing
3. saw a pied wagtail, a yellowhammer,a dunnock and a bullfinch all in the field hedge. A lovely colourful display.
4.delicious dinner of bean and veg stew.
5.have discovered lovely Red Bush tea.0 -

Yay - another red bush convert :T I have been drinking it for years - and extolling its virtues. However some of my family feel that it is like drinking dishwater!
I discovered Darjeeling tea yesterday - rather nice for a change.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Evening all,
PK - any news on the interview today? They will probably offer it to you know how these things go!
MHAGS - hope you and your family are doing ok today.
I'm a sleepy girl today. Only got home from work just before 10am.
1) Monthly pricing meeting with the big boss went well. I was ready to be crucified as I really hadn't had a chance to prepare.
2) Had breakfast and lunch with a dear colleague. Nice to catch up with her.
3) Didn't have to wait too long for any of my trains etc
4) I was really naughty and a marketing assistant to go and go me some sweeties. I paid and shared them with her... But still feel guilty... The sweeties were nice though.
5) Opened my ISA
Night night
ZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Oh and one i want to recall! The garage getting the bolt out of OH's motto guzzi now means she needs to spend lots on parts to make it better. Bye bye rainy day fund :wall: :rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

(((Mhags))) keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers
All gone a bit pear-shaped healthwise today but lots of good OS to report
1. My pulm rehab has been upped to twice a week for the next few weeks for which I'm grateful but it's 2 1/2 hours each time! Will have to be a bit more organised in the coming weeks
2. Had a list of things to do after the class, wanted to go home to bed but made myself go to the bank, library etc., and am glad I did as it gives me day to rest tomorrow
3. When I phoned to make an appt with the bank I was told I didn't need one and could just go into branch to update my ISA. Got there and the teller said she can't do it, I need an appt and they don't have anything til May. She asked which one I wanted, I told her (Martin has listed it) she said there was no such ISA! Checked on line when I got home and there it was, on their website - and a link to update it to this year's interest. Did so and it will be up and running within 5 days. Next time I'm feeling rubbish I'll go straight home and do it myself, it's only a few squids but it's my few squids - and I know what Martin said
4. Phone call from a friend who is always very supportive, she makes me laugh and mkes me feel better in just a few minutes
5. So pleased I went to the library, I found a Miss Read I've not read, always a nice surprise. Going to take a cuppa and my library book and snuggle into bed.
Night night, sleep well0 -
My five for a couple of days are
1. Lunch with my family at my sister's. It went very well and much laughter.
2. Went to FIL woodland burial site and the tree had been planted.
3. Chat with a friend on the phone.
4. DH taking lunch into work for past week has saved loads of money so far.
5. Work is becoming busier which is good.0 -
Husband had his pre-op stuff today for surgery on Thursday, so just waiting till he comes home to hear how it went.
Struggling a bit for pleasures but will give it a go!
1.Awake from 4am so went into work earlier than I need to ..(not at 4am though!) pottered about on my own till colleagues came in. I like the time to myself to get organised.
2.Noisy, noisy parrots & lorikeets as I walked across the carpark. They are so loud & they do make me smile.
3.Another busy day to take my mind of other things.
4.Autumn colours everywhere just gorgeous.
5.Found some chocolate in the fridge! Not my bar of choice but still chocolate!
Have a good day x0 -
