  • Hi everyone have been away entertaining DM and DF who have been to stay with me for a weeks "holiday". Only see them a couple of times a year, so really lovely to see them.

Have just caught up with all your news since 2 April

mhagster - am so sorry to hear about your DH, you are all in my thoughts xx

    Summary of last week
    1. DM arrived on her birthday 2 April, took her out with DF for curry
    2. Walked along seafront pier to pier, certainly blew away the cobwebs
    3. DF painted ceiling in living room for me, my back/neck problems mean I cant raise my hands above my head. He also painted pollyfilla paint stuff over hairline cracks in walls. I just have to save up for paint for walls now. He also fitted new light in living room
    4. DM demolished my ironing mountain :D
    5. DM and DF treated me and DS to Harvester meal out
    6. Hot sun on Good Friday so had a BBQ
    7. Walk to carboot on sunday
    8. Lovely dinners courtesy of DM cooking...bliss
    9. DF plastered hole in wall in DS bedroom, just need to get a tester pot match for paint and touch in
    10. Went shopping with DM to make sure she spent her birthday money on herself
    11. Back is feeling much better
    12. DM and DF went home yesterday (for a rest ;) ), not a pleasure to see them go, but had a quick wizz round with hoover, washed kitchen and bathroom floors and then spent rest of day with a good book. Raining outside so was not venturing out
    13. Last night caught up with programmes recorded on tivo
    14. Leftover chocolate in the house now in me :EasterBun

    Hugs to all x

Up and on early this morning as the labrador needed to go out - he was a bit on the loose side of things! Anyway I stopped up!

Three loads of washing done and it is drying on the line is this sunny weather with a realy good breeze

    Vacuumed up

Made a corned beef hash for lunch as DH is on lates this week!

Going to photograph some stuff for Ebay and get that loaded up later.

I am going to take my welsh dresser apart this afternoon - well what I mean by that is take everything off it, clean it/wash it, polish the wood and then put it all back. Its a really lovely dresser which I chose a while back. My grandmother on dad's side was welsh and she had a massive solid oak dresser. When she died it went to her daughter (which is the natural order of things) anyway, she left me some money and mum said what are you going to do with it. I didn't know at the time but mum mentioned about getting my own dresser, it took years for me to find anything that really said wow but found it I did and I love it, so it's part of her in my home. Its a four door dresser and I have it all displayed nicely no paperwork or cards on there just done properly so that it is not a dumping area.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

    Good evening all!

Ladyhawk - not very nice is it :( They should have taken mine out years ago . Get well soon x

Tealady - thank you for your kind wishes. How nice that the garage ladies let you use their ...facilities , you should have whipped out your sponsor form :D

    Rainy - a lovely welsh dresser - timeless !

    a few for today

    1. Woke up at 2am in a bit of a sweat ,watched tv (so much more interesting stuff on at this time of the day) had paractemol and slept until around 4.30 am.

    2. Not over enthused at the prospect of going in to work, but did and kept my mouth shut for most of the day :) Until half an hour before I was due to leave and the usual Google type calls came in for me - random and as usual, there were no clear answers !

    3. Throat worse and I look like a ghost , but still have an appetite so made a simple healthy tea of rice and veg. Shoved a huge potato in the oven for OH as he gets in much later than I do, so I don't have to think about it.

    4. My Mum said that she thought I must have got home as the hens were squawking and lining up by the back door:)

    5. Early night tonight for me !
Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • What a difference a sunny day makes. :) Have been busy compared to yesterday when it rained all day, so hopefully have burned off some of the chocolate I scoffed yesterday :D

    1. Slept well last night.... no "elderly" parents emptying their bladders several times throughout the night ...bless em ;) ) woke at 7am but lazed around and didnt get out of bed until 10:30

    2. Lovely warm sun. Got bedding and towels washed and dried on line

    3. Went shopping and stayed on budget. Got a few 50% off items in A1di

    4. Pottered in the garden in the sun this afternoon, cut grass and tidied garden

    5. Washed car, dont normally bother but have been poop- bombed by local seagulls

    Best wishes to all x

    Evening all.
CCP- you can have the rain back now ;)

Sorry I couldn't help yesterday - I had more than enough rain of my own, including rather more than I liked inside the flat!

mhags - I hope everything went off OK today.

My pleasures for today are a bit food-oriented, I'm afraid:

    1) HM hot cross buns for breakfast, with the last two left for tomorrow.

    2) The IT department at work have finally decided to take seriously the problems I'm having with my PC - following a complaint from the office manager. ;)

    3) A slice of HM sausage and egg pie for lunch. I don't usually like leaving meat sitting around for more than a day or so, but the pie is tasting better and better as time goes on. :) I'm pleased there's only one more slice left for tomorrow, though.

    4) Apparently the leak in my patio doors won't be difficult to fix - the LL's handyman is coming back to do it tomorrow evening, and will replace my broken doorbell at the same time. :)

    5) I've cobbled together a pork and lentil casserole from bits lying around, and it smells lovely. :)

Have a good evening, all, and get well now poorly peeps.
Back after a very long break!

    1. LBH has become "Ellie" and she follows me all over the place with "Holly" her friend. They were "helping" on the veg plot today.
    2. Watching Whistle Down the Wind on iplayer. A great film
3.Got some union fag wellies from Joules. Very chic!
    4. Iced a cake for DS2's birthday.
    5. Yesterdays rain is making everything grow.

    Evening,

Gee... I hate GPs! I went along for my appt and they were running 40 minutes late with absolutely no apology. When I was 10 minutes late because all the trains from London were suspended they refused to see me. The BUP@ doctor said that I needed an abdominal scan as I have had persistent pain near my right hip. Anyway this GP refused to refer me and said that I had obviously pulled a muscle (for 3 months??). She then asked me how she would refer me privately. I don't want to go private! Anyway she said that she was 100% sure there is nothing wrong but if the discomfort persists for a few more months then I should go back to see her! If there is anything seriously wrong with me I will be a tad miffed!

CHICKEN - I too am a regular suffer of the dreaded tonsilitis. My brother is an ENT surgeon and my dad was an anaesthetist and they both had advised me against getting them removed.

    1) My interview has been brought to tomorrow

    2) Nice walk into town with a friend

    3) Yummy goodies brought back by a colleague from Barcelona

    4) Left the office at 5pm... Yeeha!

    5) Booked a day off in a couple of week... Yeeha!

    Night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Evening, everyone. It feels like an age since I last posted - probably has been. I seem to keep falling off the OS-wagon and it gets more and more difficult to get back on it! Lack of time makes it mighty hard sometimes. Still, I shall try. I figured if I posted some of my OS pleasures it might get me back into the spirit of things a bit.

    1. Made a list. I'm going to try to stick to this one.
    2. Made macaroni cheese for my lunch. DH was out today (he doesn't like it) so I got to have it for my lunch.
    3. It hasn't rained here.
    4. I'm getting back into gardening and saving seeds left, right and centre. I shall keep telling myself that one day something'll grow.
    5. Something clicked in me today that hasn't before - like I've grown up in some regard. It's a weird feeling but oddly focussing.

It's good to get back in and reading your pleasures. I have missed the sense of belonging. I feel like I need a project to get my teeth and enthusiasm into!

    Take care all.
