5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

(((Mhags))) am so relieved at the initial good news re your DH, will pray that his treatment goes as it should. As far as the broken ribs go, that really was no way to get attention from a group of hunky rugby players! Poor you and DH, so sorry you lost the car but you both survived and will heal, am just grateful to hear it wasn't any worse for you both. I hope thinking of those hunks administering their first aid will help the healing process
Last couple of days -
1. Luggage was 'rather'over weight so we managed to squeeze some into our hand luggage, and put on more clothes than we started out with. Still had to pay for a kilo, there was just no way we could lose it but it worked out a little cheaper than if I'd bought the larger weight allowance in the first place, iyswim
2. A bit of hanging about prior to getting home but the flight was on time and the co-pilot made us laugh, enhancing the announcements in typically Irish comedy fashion
3. DD and DSiL were waiting for us this end, lovely to see them, felt like we'd been away for ages, not just 8 days
4. Slept til 9am this morning, hung out the first load of washing, did the shopping, dusted (where does it come from when there's no-one here?!) ironed, second load on the line.
5. Pets were pleased to see me, neighbours were pleased to see me! It's good to be home
Enjoy the rest of the day0 -
Afternoon, just popped on to record some pleasures for today. I'm enjoying a bit of peace and quiet after a busy day - the absence of noise is lovely.
Here goes with the pleasures:
1. Went for a walk and saw three of the family of green woodpeckers on the field. There must be a lot of ants there!
2. I had an NSD - hope you don't mind but I'll be logging them as pleasures from here on in.
3. Got a few ideas for some new meals.
4. I feel I can finally concentrate on a diet and doing some more keep fit now Easter is out of the way.Roll on size 12!
5. My Hub made me a cup of tea this morning. He makes the best tea ever.
Whew, long day and glad to be at home with my feet up. I can smell them though - not a good sign! Not particularly looking forward to work tomorrow as I don't know what I'm going into. Apart from having a few chores to do tonight I've nothing else really stopping me from a nice relax.
Hope everyone has a nice evening.
KB xx

Mhagster - what a day for you. Positive vibes and prayers for you both.
Also how come you need to have something like that to happen before you get attention from hunky rugby players.
1. Lovely walk with my dog.
2.DS2 managing to get to Somerset by himself without getting lost.
3. DS1 coming home later.
4. Tea ready - just needs heating up.
5. Tulips in the garden
6. Driving home and it looks like snow - the hail was soo deep.
The thunderstorm this afternoon.0 -
Afternoon everyone, hope you've had a wee bit of sun where you are.
More pleasures for today
1. Had a lovely day out with H for his birthday with the kids and the dog. Kids are grubby and tired and the dog is cream crackered. Job well done I say
2. Weather has been fantastic, some lovely rain showers at the same time as sun made the water on the lake we were next to appear bejewelled. Warm in the sun, rain not too heavy perfect April weather
3. Met another family on our trip out with a clone of our puppy, was so sweet to see them together.
4. Some yummy cookies that H was sent as a present.
5. Tired body from lots of walking, looking forward to a relaxing evening
Have a great evening everyoneI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Goodness Mhagster, what a day! Big hugs to you.
My 5 pleasures for the last few days:
1) Spent 3 nights in Barcelona all courtesy of collecting Airmiles (now Avios) - that was flights for 2 of us AND the hotel for 3 nights. All we had to pay for was our daily spending!
2) Sorted out some books for our bookswap shelves in school. I'll offer them to my TA first as we enjoy the same sort of books (ie chick lit!).
3) Done some washing. Not a pleasure, but a necessary evil I suppose!
4) Treated myself to a coffee and a muffin in Costa following a trip to the docs... Used my points to buy the muffin. Bonus!
5) Sorted out my coins to take to the bank. We collect 20ps, 5ps and coppers. It all goes towards paying off my car later this year...Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
mhagster, good news about your husband. Sending you positive vibes with regards to his treatment. Also hugs to you, that must really hurt.
My five for today.
1. Daughter went out. I know that sounds horrible but she was not my favourite person this morning.
2. Watching the farmer plough the fields from my kitchen window.
3. My Mum and Dad popping in for a cuppa and a chat.
4. Stew and dumplings for tea, yum.
5. Taking the dog for a walk.
Hope everyone else has had a good day.

5 for today
1. Never got off of the phone at work and it rang a second before I was due to leave , so stayed late and had to speak all bliddy day:mad: My throat feels like a word that I am not going to type
2. Told a Provider that I was just going to visit them tomorrow instead of talking on the phone for hours. I can argue better when I am not in an open plan office and have paper to point at
3.Butch ( she is so not Butch) the hen keeps laying her eggs in odd places. I managed to find a dented one today that she had "dropped" so I had it for tea.
4.My main boss proof read my report and it had one typo - instead of ferrule , I put had feral :rotfl:I am feral
5. Fancied rice and chinese chicken and stir fried veg for tea , with Butch's egg . OH can have chow mein when he gets in .
The soddin ants have got inside my kettle . I am not impressed , they could have at least got a cup of tea ready for me when I got home late:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
Chicken - ants in the kettle?! You definitely need to get them trained to make tea, and preferably dinner as well.
bek - I'm very jealous of you, having a nice soft bunny rabbit to cuddle. I used to have one as a teenager and have always said I'll get another one day.
PK - get well now!
mhags - I'm glad the scan went better than hoped. Gentle hugs to you, as I really don't want to hurt your poor ribs.
1) A very nice man from the IT dept came over today and has confirmed there's definitely something wrong with my work PC - a real pleasure as his colleagues have been trying to fob me off for the past couple of months.
2) The last slice of yummy sausage and egg pie for lunch.
3) My leaky door has been fixed, and is now being thoroughly tested in a torrential rain storm (it's fine - all the water's still outside :j).
4) Made a start on my essay - I always feel better when I've got something, however little, in writing.
5) Had a look at a plant sale from today's MSE email, but rapidly abandoned my order when I found the free delivery offer had expired and they were planning on charging me £8.99 postage on a £3 olive tree.
Have a decent evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
5 or so for today (Wednesday)
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Went out for dinner with mum, dad, brother, sister and my sons.
3) Went down to the river afterwards. Brother found a length of fishing line caught in a tree and bigger son made a hook out of a pin. They got some worms and caught some fish!!! They didn't manage to get them up the bank (as the hook wasn't barbed) but sons were very excited.
4) Made a cheese and potato pie for tea.
5) Getting ready for Earth Hour (we missed the official one).
6) Watching Holby City on iplayer as I type!0
