Welcome back kitchenbunny :j0

I made spotted !!!!!! with custard (birds' powder lol) I had everything in the cupboard already. Lots of currents left after making hot cross buns.
It was like a luxury pudding! I can't understand why I have never made one before, the bought ones are always hard and floury, mine was moist and crumbly with way more fruit. It took two hours steaming but all I had to do was check the water every now and again.
Felt like a wonderful freebie.0 -
Aw chicken i'm finally recovering after 10 days. Hope you feeling better soon
Mhags sending positive vibes
1) up early, trotted into campus to pick up stuff saving work taxi fare and more importantly giving me a chance to stretch my legs :j
2) bought some nanas on the way back, dropped off 2 library books and took out another :T
3) got to work and there was a nana left over from office lunch so ate that with 11ses
4) really good meeting with colleague who took over my old job. We're running aworkshop next week andwe had a right old giggle :rotfl:
5) scrummy chicken casserole. It's so thick with stock it fair flops out of the tupperware. That's the 3rd helping from 4 so very :money: as well. Heated it up in my new posh pan. Now i have some equally gelatinous pork stock. Not sure what to do with it. Suggestions?MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Well, a day of plenty of pleasures but feel very down all the same.
Here are the good bits.
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Waking up with smaller son next to me and smaller cat curled up asleep in the small of my back!
3) Haircuts. :-) :-) :-) The normal barber was shut and they thought they had got away with it but we went to the other barber and the grumpy woman was not there but a male barber who looked about 15 was there. He chatted to the boys and bigger son had 6 inches off the back (!) and 2 inches off the sides and front so it looks tidier and less like a mullet. It's still a long bob though!
Smaller son is less fussy and had about 2-3 inches off everywhere and actually looks pretty good now.
4) Went to the little sweet shop in town as a reward.
5) Popped to Sainsburys for a few bits.
6) Lit the stove. Haven't bothered for a while but its much nicer with it on.
7) Brother here for tea (is still here). Did a roast chicken, stuffing, bread sauce, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, carrots and peppers (as we had a bag of peppers). Rice pud afterwards.
8) Brother and sons now playing on the Wii. :-)
Doesn't that sound like an ideal day? Oh, and throw some chocolate in as well!
But it hasn't been. It's annoying me that it hasn't been and that I can't pull myself together. One phone call from OH, who didn't say anything bad, or wrong, or nasty. I haven't seen him for a few days and won't see him for several more as my sons have decided they can't stand the sight of his sons...
So I am missing him after spending most of last week with him.
Cue phone call and OH "I had a lovely time on tour, it was splendid" etc etc. (Me thinking - the tour I couldn't go on because my sons would have mutinied).
OH - "I'm in a silly mood - I felt silly all weekend" (Me thinking - silly = happy, happy because I wasn't there, happy because he was drunk perhaps, happy because - goodness only knows)
OH - "blah blah... ex wife in next chalet" (Me - WHAT????? Why on earth would SHE be in Devon? Why have I just been told this?)
Therefore my mind goes - happy without me, silly mood, lots of drinking and ex wife right there. Abrupt end to that particular phone call. :-(0 -
Hugs frith hope things brighten.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

My mummykins is still in hospital, apparently she had a bad night last night so they want to do some more tests, which may or may not happen tomorrow
1. Back in the office today for the first time in ages, busy, good but rather tiring!
2. Popped in to see OH for a hug on my way to pick DD up from her holiday camp thing
3. DD was full of beans, tired, happy, enthusiastic etc etc about today, and can't wait to go back tomorrow
4. Boss gave me an Easter egg
5. Finally managed NSD2 for the month
6. Got a big load of washing done and dry on the line
7. Chatted to my favourite librarian today when I popped in to get some great books.
8. Read one of my library books already (I read incredibly quickly when the book is interesting)
9. Did a survey, can't wait for the LVs to come through, that'll help the budget this month!0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today
1. Yummy almond croissant for breakfast
2. Some free yummy bits to go with my lunch at work and a plate in the fridge for tomorrow as someone has misordered a lunch
3. Sorted out an issue that has been bugging me on the home computer was so simple in the end once you know where to look.
4. Nice chat with BD2 on the phone. I get on with this brother the most but probably talk to the least for some strange reason.
5. Used a voucher in Waitr0se for a bread mix so only cost 15p and will make 2 small loaves :money:
Hugs to all who need them0 -

well first the good news!
1.There is no spread, the tumour is the primary one & will mean major surgery and radiotherapy but they are sure they can treat it aggressively. Phew! Still a long road ahead.
The bad news: we came out of hospital so relieved there was no further spread, went to turn a corner at a busy interchange when a van crashed into us at speed. I took the brunt of the impact. Car is a write off , I have sore head & 2 fractured ribs. Straight back to hospital in an ambulance!
2.Excellent first aid from a team of rugby players who were taking a break from training at a nearby cafe. In my confusion/shock could not work out where these hunky guys were coming from.
3.Seen promptly at hospital & everyone really nice.
4.Train home! (no car!)
5.We are both alive & well to fight another battle!
6.Have just had the most lovely email from my colleague! Have had lots of good wishes sent for today, I was so, so fearful about scan results.
have a good one xx0
