    1. Very lazy day with DD, watching DVDs, cuddling, singing silly songs etc etc

    2. We did manage to get out of the house to go for a stroll up to the village shop to buy some bread rolls

    3. Watched amazing Horrible Histories Prom on kids' channel

    4. Made scrummy bean soup which we enjoyed for lunch and then again for dinner, at DD's request, I was planning on doing something a bit more thrilling, but who am I to resist DD's request....especially when it means I can be lazy ;)

    5. Ate lots of chocolate!

    6. Spoke to my brother on the phone. Sadly, our rare discussion was prompted by news that our mummykins is unwell, and having tests in hospital overnight....... :(:( (Heart issues sadly rearing up again)

    7. Knowing that my mum is in the best possible care at one of the top hospitals in the country, gawd bless the NHS.

MHagster - will be thinking of you, hubby and family x

    happy easter monday
1 we went for a walk in the rain with boys + neice and got them to deliver rather a lot of flyers advertising our local playground launch day in may.
2 it's great having chocolate in the house
3 feel slightly too organised as went through the fridge and peeled and chopped and bagged all the veg ready to use.
4 my brother has the softest rex house rabbit. she is like velvet.
5 just watched Mo on 4OD.

Kittikins hope your mum is better soon.
Ladyhawk you hard boil an egg & then decorate it, ours were....an Elmo, an easter bunny (mine ...my horrid family kept saying it looked like a dog!) a pig, an alien eye! and a girl! Then you find a hill & chuck it down ! The one that goes the furthest is the winner. Lots of people will have variations of this. Have done it since I was a little girl & we have always done it with the kids. You could start a new tradition with your nephews.
Frith: Like your top hatted egg! Looks like the boys had fun!
PK: glad you got a chance to relax on your break. Never mind the other stuff!
Sparrer: hope you've had a euro spending spree!

It's still early but I have slept right through which is the first in a few days, have got chicken in the slow cooker, I'm planning on making a pie tonight when we get home from hospital & have made a big pot of leek & potato soup. Just need to blend that. Kids can have that for their lunch & then rest can go in freezer.

MHagster - hope today's scans go smoothly.

Few more pleasures this evening after a bit of a grumpy day.

    1) The old cat reappeared! We only see her every couple of weeks or so. She is looking well. :-)

    2) Managed to wash smaller son's hair (he is very sensitive round his head so we don't do it very often) AND.... he has agreed to have it cut tomorrow - hoorah!

    3) Good chat in my bed with both sons, coming to an agreement with smaller son as to what might make school easier for him. We shall see what happens on Thursday...

    4) Thank you card for neighbour (not THAT one!) thanking me for the thank you plant I bought her for feeding the cats. :-)

MHags thinking of you all especially today. Yes we did shop, now my purse is as thin as the day I bought it! DGD2 is as good at sniffing out a bargain as I am, she's been taught well. Too well in fact, she certainly found some!
Frith your boys are lovely, they look so happy together, doing the things boys enjoy doing
Ladyhawk hope you're feeling better now
Kittikins glad your little chick is back in the nest, it's a lovely feeling when they come home :)

    1. We soon sought out the best shopping area, chic shops, boutiques, outlets and a market. The photo I took of DGD carrying all her goodies is proof of my empty pockets!
    2. Managed to buy myself a rather gorgeous ring, all mine are now too big and I do like rings so need to replace them slowly. Todays was the start :)
    3. Coffee and a croissant in a little side street cafe, one of the best croissants ever - warm with sticky sugar on top and a lovely cinnamon flavour. It was good!
    4. Beautiful weather, it's been a bit overcast for a couple of days but today was just perfect. Not a cloud in the sky and a gentle breeze to keep the worst of the heat off
    5. Much as we're going to miss this beautiful place, we're looking forward to being home tomorrow (today). The only down side might be the excess I have to pay to get DGD's new wardrobe home! ;)

Arrivaderci bella Roma, ci sarà di nuovo. Bueno notte

    Sweet dreams :)

Mhags and Frith - thanks for the egg explanation! Finally some thing to do with eggs that is fun! I don't even like cooking with them... Bleugh!

CHICKEN - my tonsils have come up in sympathy with yours and now I too have tonsilitis.:(
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Morning

Mhagster - Hope the scan goes well today, keeping you in my thoughts
Kittikins- Hope your mum gets positive test results and is better soon
Ladyhawk / Chicken - Hope you both feel better soon.

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Got up at 6 to do a training walk. Only needed to do 8.5 miles so not too bad though it did rain all the way. As was out early everywhere was closed which gave me a slight issue with loo stops (sorry tmi) but the lovely ladies in a garage that I pass gave me the key to their staff toilet.
    2. Made pancakes when got back for everyones breakfast, DD's favourite
    3. OH's nan has been transferred to a home and while she is not totally happy about this she can see that she wasn't coping at home. The home is really lovely and well run so hopefully she will settle in soon.
    4. Received more easter eggs yesterday, mmm chocolate
    5. Dinner at inlaws, really nice and no cooking for me

Hugs to all who need them
  • mhagster, thinking of you all today x
    My five for yesteday were,
    1. Slept in, not for too long as it gives me a headache.
    2. Being given some parsnips from another another allotment holder.
    3. Looking round our allotment and deciding where we can plant more things.
    4. Son and his gf came round, haven't seen them for a couple of weeks.
    5. Gave the dog a good brushing without him wanting to bite me. He hates being brushed.
