Chicken - was it you who mentioned the Electric Dreams ad? I love that song even though it was a touch before my time.

    7) Baking my eldest DB's birthday cake (courgette!) - I got the oven toasty hot to put the cake in and then switched it off! DOH! I have turned to oven on again and am hoping for the best.

Ladyhawk - Now I am starting to feel middle aged :D Courgette cake (or could be flan in the cold oven) who could have guessed ;):D
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Lovely to read of all your pleasures. Mhagster, TG you have a truly understanding ear within the family. What a blessing.

    1. Quick chat with oldest friend in Oz on FB, she was having turkey with all trimmings for Easter lunch and her eldest son visiting. He is an Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran (at the sobering age of 24) who is having to leave the Aussie Army due to post traumatic stress disorder.

    2. A phone chat with another friend - she has been very, very ill for 8 weeks but is now HOME from hospital and planning a move back to her roots up here in the N.E.

    3. Grandchildren and daughter visited for Easter gift exchange. Lovely to have them around.

    4. Chocolate for breakfast and post lunch. Which was sweet and juicy lamb.

    5. Late last night ... finished a book to review for Amazon Vine and really enjoyed it.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

mhagster - I admire you so much . Doing "normal" things when nothing can really feel "normal" at the moment - keep strong.

chicken I rather crave 'normality' and routine at the moment.....the alternative is too much to think about but be assured as I do 'normal things' Like washing /ironing/cooking/hoovering I am usually sobbing!

This not knowing what's ahead business doesn't sit well with me, we won't know until Wednesday what the plan is ( depends on scan results, whether there is metatastic spread or not) so this waiting is the hard bit. I used to be a Registered Nurse, not worked at that in 9 years but know 'too much' as to what will happen. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! A bit of both perhaps!

Anyway, doing normal things helps! We have always rolled our eggs and continue our tradition out here despite the odd looks we get. Lets hope next Easter we are all rolling them again.

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Quiet hour to myself this morning while everyone slept on, bliss
    2. My idea for my bra for moonwalk wasn't right so we had a family brainstorming idea and have come up with a new idea between us that shouldn't be too hard to put together and we had some of the bits already in the house. Watch this space as I am rubbish at sewing and anything arty.
    3. DD and OH loved their Lindt Easter Bears. Bought for 15p each in January :D. Also got DD some bunny slippers in the sale to go with hers.
    4. Chocolate butttons from my easter egg, mmm
    5. Lazy day just pottering

Hugs to all who need them

    5 for Easter Sunday.

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Got some bits and pieces from T Express. (Was away Tue - Fri so really had nothing fresh in).

    3) Enjoyed watching a bit of Mary Poppins then Shrek 3 with sons.

    4) My sister popped round. She had been in London for the weekend but got a phone call from the police saying her car (parked by our local station) had been vandalised, along with several others so she had come back early. Only a scratch on hers but the other cars had smashed windows etc. The police caught the boy who did it - only 16. :-(

    5) My school friend came for te and hasn't long gone home.

    6) Texts from OH, still away doing rugby type things.

    7) Looking forward to tomorrow (today now!) My brother is organising an easter egg hunt for my sons in the morning at his place then after lunch I am taking the boys to one of those indoor play area places where I am meeting most of the group of friends I had at Sixth Form College! Very rare we all meet up, hoping all our children disappear into the ball pits and we can have a cup of tea. ;-)

 VJsmum 5 puds! Good for you, why not. Took 5 dgc to Paris some years ago, and decided they should have an adults only day as exOH and I enjoyed ourselves so much :D
Chicken did the girls tell you where thry got the pink box from, or is that their secret? ;)
hakeber can I borrow your cousin please? I'll even buy an ecloth for her visit
Mhags it's good you have a sounding board in your sister, and that she's so close you can talk openly with her

    1. A day of rest for us after yesterday, certainly felt the need
    2. Went for a stroll around the area, found a place open for lunch. sat in the sun surrounded by birds hoping for a crumb to drop - sorry, not a chance!
    3. Walked round the site, found the pools, jacuzzis, tennis courts, cinema etc., too early in the season for most to be open but certainly worth coming back later in the year for
    4. A special Easter dinner in the restaurant, delicious as always and finished with a triple chocolate bombe - made up for the lack of Easter eggs
    5. Sadly it's our last day tomorrow, we've stayed well within our daily budget so far so attenzione, Roma, le signore will be hitting the shops for a spree in the morning :D

    Sweet dreams :)
