Sounds like the party's on at Tealady's then with all those Special K bites
1. Took my car for a service using a group0n voucher.....saved me about £100, which is good as the darned car needs various things fixed:( beggar it! The repairs can wait a while as I'm not driving much as it makes my leg hurt!
2. DD has definitely been accepted on a very exciting course being run at school during 4 days of the Easter holidays, yippee for her (and for me as it's cheap and fits in with my working pattern so I can save the holiday for the summer or whenever)
3. Going to pop up to the village in a mo and pick up my prescription before the price goes up at the weekend! Called ahead to make sure its been done, I'm not walking up the blooming hill unless I need to!
4. The sunshine again
5. My lovely daddy came down and has done more work in the kitchen for me and took lots of rubbish to the tip, hoorah!
6. He also (sob) picked up DD who has gone off for a holiday to their house although it does annoy me when he says right DD, let's go home.......I said no, here is home which annoyed him. Errrr, who's the mummy and who's the granddad?!? Yes she has a bedroom at their house, but here is home, that's her residence in the ShiresDD's happy though, a week of being pampered and having 2 people to natter to, play cards with, a dog to cuddle etc etc......
7. Popped in to see OH this morning
8. Bought a lovely dress in A$da when I went with a friend but I'm now panicking that I can't afford it....maybe that's the incentive I need to lose weight and get back into the clothes that are sitting in the loft!! It is lovely though and was rather cheap.........
9. However, I stepped on the scales this morning and have lost at least 9lb since starting sick leave, yay!0 -
Frith ((((hugs)))) hope you had a better day today
hakeber ... i have eaten nearly all the cream eggs - if they are in the cupboard my brain says they should be in my tummy....

Kittikins well done on losing 9lb, I always put weight on when I'm on sick leave
1. Put my back out this morning, not a pleasurebut gave me the incentive to finish work early today

3. Said hello to new team members
4. no work for 2 weeks :j

Evening all.
DundeeDoll - AF is truly wonderful - the only thing to watch out for, as Tealady mentioned, is the quantities of some items. I nearly bought some preserved anchovies this time - of which I'm very fond - until I realised it was an 800g tin, which is more than even I could find a use for!
sparrer - I know what you mean about sarnie shops. At least this one, being a family-owned business that makes everything from scratch, probably could and would let me have recipes if I asked.
I'm feeling a little low on pleasures today: my car's very low on petrol and all the petrol stations round here have sold out (which at least is a good incentive for a couple of NPDs over the weekend); mog's feeling off-colour and hasn't eaten today, which usually means his appetite will return at 3am, accompanied by a lot of yowling; and my nice, new, bargain saute pan is damaged and has to go back to the shop tomorrow.
Right, I must be cheerful...
1) My yearly appraisal today was less painful than expected; it lasted for 2 hours purely because we talked so much about all sorts of other things. Apparently I'm a wonderful member of staff, and there was absolutely nothing negative to be said.:o
2) HM cheese and coleslaw sarnie for lunch which was nearly as tasty as yesterday's salad.
3) It's Friday, which is always a good thing.
4) HM pepperoni pizza for dinner tonight, although it will be a late dinner as I forgot to switch the BM on to make the dough until half an hour ago.
5) There's ice skating on TV tonight - it's rarely on terrestrial TV, so I'm making the most of my recent acquisition of satellite.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
My bug seemed to hit hard but touch wood has also gone as rapidly as it arrived.
Kittikins, big congrats on the weight loss.
It’s a lovely day, we got up early as we wanted to get to a market over in Orpington for some material, but you guessed it the stall wasn’t there, so we meandered around the “cheap and charity” shops. I was a bit gutted as we only decided to go this morning, but the fruit and veg stall was so much better than the supermarket stuff we bought and half the price of Mr T! We shopped about for a few bits we needed at best price, I’m making some Sweet strawberry wine home brew, as for some reason I thought it would be a good idea and the MIL had the home brew set. But needed a hydrometer to check it.
The car was running on fumes and thought ah well we will have to queue but it was one of those weird times we cruised straight in filled up and left, but by the time I paid they were queuing onto the road again.
So we are being hermit’s it over this weekend and the first part of next week, as we are off for a few days after that.
1. A lovely day wandering around, breaking the cage rage.
2. We stopped at a cafe, where they know us so well they just bring the drinks over, explained I was trying to watch the weight at the mo, and they made me the most amazing grilled chicken salad it was gorgeous.
3. Just a bit of people watching
4. That feeling when you get back in and sit down with a nice big cup of tea.
5. Washing loads off the line, folded and put away.0 -
Good evening all
sparrer - thank you - you have almost hit your target weight , well done you!
frith ((hugs)) to you x It won't always be like this for you
Oldtractor - you exude happiness in your post , outdoors and horsey stuff - just my kind of day too..;)
PK - you must be off on your hols soon??
5 for today
1. Day off
2. Sat in the sunshine with a very good brand of high factor sun spray on that I got for £1.99 on the clearance shelf last week. It smells lovely and is not greasy . My arms are already brown.
3. My Mum went out with my aunt to London so I have the dog until she gets back. Miss. Barker spat out her medication that I put inside a piece of cheese , spat it out with her biscuit, I put it in her mouth and out it came again, so I put it in the side of her mouth (like you do for horses)and she was trying not to bite me and promptly swallowed it . She must lead my Mum a merry dance getting all these treats
4.Sat on a compost bag up the garden and all of the hens came and had a lie down next to me . They are funny like that , but they think I am top chook ruling their roost :rotfl:
5. When my Mum gets back I can hand over the dog and have a nice long soak in the bath .
Have a lovely weekend all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Chickenopolis: Oh yes we are off in 6 days only 15 miles further into Kent towards the coast over the Easter weekend. Can’t wait :j
Our Wales holiday is in May and sadly the inlaw’s can’t have the 2 cats, as they are also away! It’s a bit of a rude wake up call as it will cost us as much to put them in the cattery as it will for the entire time on the campsite – ouchy!:eek:0 -

4 funny times in architecture museum. walking round in a long line with a mirror on your nose. looks and feeels like you are walking on ceiling.
5 lovely meal tbis eve with colleagues.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
In bed now and smaller son has fallen asleep beside me. He has woken up twice to comment on his hair still being damp at the back after his bath (they both have a LOT of hair) and to suddenly ask "What's an anorak?" !
5 for today (Friday)
1) Went to sleep REALLY early, for me. Then woke up after a horrid dream but lay and listened to the bird song. (Was about 5.30).
2) Boys went off to school OK. I decided to go into complete denial about smaller son's suspension and just dropped him off as normal. No one phoned me to come and get him and now it is Easter anyway. I did warn the teacher at his parent evening that I thought a suspension would be exactly what smaller son would enjoy most so I would be bringing him in as normal...
3) Popped down to see mum and dad. Mum full of vigour about school problems. She thinks school do not understand the effect the ex husband has on us all and she and dad want to go in (without me) and tell the head all about him! I can't really explain how un-parent like this is, I'm still amazed.
4) Changed all the beds, tidied upstairs, hoovered upstairs and cleaned the bathroom. Then made a date and walnut cake followed by a lemon drizzle cake!
5) Texts from OH. :-)
6) Made a tasty tea. For some reason I had ended up with 7 lemons in the fridge (hence the lemon cake) so I also chopped up some chicken and did it in batter (OK, egg and flour with some paprika) and I did fried rice with veg in. Bigger son did a lemon sauce and we pretended we were having a Chinese take away.0
