Good afternoon all !
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Mhagster :T
PK - glad to hear that you were able to smile when your beloved cat who is now in kitty heaven left a few presents for you in the caravan.
Ladyhawk- I loved watching Victoria Wood play Nella Last. I think that you seem very well read , far more so than I .
Dundee Doll - I would be happy to send you my copy of The Rivals if you would like a "physical"book rather than an e book. It was one of my set books for A level English literature about six hundred years ago- it has my scribble and highlighted bits in it thoughso forget it if you are fussy:D
5 for today
1. The last day of my working week
2. Better still I finished at 12:40 and sat in the sun all afternoon.
3. The washing has dried and has been put away .One less thing to do on my few days off.
4. OH is buying me a takeaway curry tonight.
5. I have been wearing some cropped jeans that I got in the sale from Ne*t years ago and had never been able to get done up . They are actually quite looseI do prefer my body to have "sharp edges" and not having to think about what I wear

Evening all.
There's some really interesting suggestions for books to read on here, so thanks for starting the conversation DundeeDoll. I've never read I Capture the Castle, so that's going on my list now.I'll second To Kill a Mockingbird - I had to do it for GCES Eng Lit, and it's the only one that surveyed the experience as a fond memory.
Purple kitten - I hope you feel better soon.
Mhagster - happy birthday from another bear of little brain who can't work out if your birthday is now over or not.
sparrer - that's great news about the hosepipe non-ban - it's good to see people thinking about how these things will affect people with disabilities for once. :T
1) Reverbed 5p.
2) I decided to wait until I get paid tomorrow before buying the new pair of work shoes I desperately need, and was glad I did when a 20% off code landed in my inbox this morning. :money:
3) Not terribly OS, but I didn't have time to make myself lunch this morning so I bought a box of HM Greek salad from the local sarnie shop. Yum, is all I can say.
4) A free bottle of fruit juice in my veg box. I don't know if I like pear and kiwi juice or not, but I guess there's only one way to find out...
5) Taking an evening off studying as I'm so far ahead I can justify it. I've spent the evening dead-heading daffodils and tulips, watering plants, and placing an AF order which is the usual combination of stuff I need (loo roll, tinned toms), stuff I don't really need but will be useful (a couple of types of bread mix, tomato puree, cat food (which Fussy Mog may or may not choose to eat - sigh)) and stuff that I really don't need but couldn't pass up (onion crispies at 3 for 99p (great for making onion bread), gooseberry jam (I can't remember the last time I saw anyone selling gooseberry jam), a case of Thai curry paste for 1p ).
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Hope you feel better soon PK, rest as much as you can x0

Well, what a pants day!
trying to think of 5.
1) Yoga
2) Mum coming to parent evening (the first time anyone has ever come to a school meeting with me!)
3) erm...
Yet another phone call from school re: younger son. 3rd this week. Today I had to pick him up at 1pm as he had run out onto the field and they couldn't catch him to bring him in. So they asked me to take him home and they don't want him in school again til after Easter. (This is illegal, by the way).
Got surrounded by the head (chirpy but clueless), TA (marvellous), SENCo (there are no words to describe...) SENCo then told me his behaviour is because he has "attachment issues" with me and he would be fine if "he spent more time with his father without bigger son present".
I despair.
Oh yes, and I went to counselling as well (got interrupted by the phone call from school). Don't like it, don't like her particularly today. She never gets the point, skates over the surface and I keep thinking "If i were telling my old clinical psych this, she'd be having a field day". But I don't even have the gumption to phone up and cancel.0 -
Mhagster - happy birthday probably for yesterday (I think|)
((((Frith))))
1. Lovely weather all week and some lovely sunrises.
2. Meeting my new neighbours properly who seem really friendly.
3. M&S sorting out a delivery problem and refunding the postage paid.
4. Taking lunch into work most days.
5. Had a lovely meal at a friends house with DH who we hadn't seen for ages and we all chatted as if we had seen each other the day before.0 -
Chicken congrats on the fit of the crops, must make you feel so good. Some it just happens to, others of us have to :j for months for a result!
(((PK))) hope you wake up feeling better tomorrow
CCP re your #3, sarnie shops should be banned! Or at least let us into the secret of how they make the same food we have at home, taste so much better.
1. Got the details of the weekend away in June, couldn't see the single supplement details so phoned up and was told they're not charging it. Nearly passed out in shock!
2. Tried for ages to buy my euro's through the PO on line last night but it wouldn't accept my payment (this after juggling neatly a few days ago to make sure the relevant a/c has more than enough pennies in it) so phoned my bank this morning to see if there was a problem. Customer serv's couldn't see why it wouldn't go through, and arranged for the euro's to be delivered to my home tomorrow morning at the same exchange rate as on line. Nice to know that even banks can be helpful at times
3. Did a bit of gardening for a change, deadheaded some daffs and primulas. Some of the daffs have 4 heads on each stem, don't know where I got those from but pleased I did, they're very pretty
4. Laundry dried on the line, folded and put away. Nothing that needed ironing today
5. Had an amazing experience this morning, after my shower last night I moisturised as usual but think I must have picked up the wrong bottle . I woke up this morning a few shades darker! (A big relief, it was last year's and wasn't sure it would still be okay). Now I don't look quite so much like a milk bottle
Sweet dreams0 -
((Frith)) sorry you've had such a pants day x0
